  1. My guess is that you need a dedicated graphics card to run fm21.

Both steam store page and google says a 13 year old laptop with a GeForce 9600M GT can run FM21 fine. (That gpu was released in 2008).

Id suggest buy a $50 laptop from 2008 with this graphics card and use it to play Football manager only perhaps?

  2. But they pay income tax to the nation they are working, not their home country? England has 45% and France 43%. Spain has a rate of 26% of any income past 200k..

I would say Eduardo Camavinga playing for Real Madrid is the one who gets the most money after income tax.

Ill ask a question (mentioned in OP): When did Messi Retire in my current FM21 save, who did he play for and what Staff role does he currently have and where? Its year 2034 and he is 47 years old.

  3. When I manage that low, I try and have as few staff members as possible, only one chief scout and no data analyst even. I ask DoF (effectivly ask Chairman, no DoF at club) for recomendation in the scouting page. Then I give them a trial or just a loan if they don't want a trial. I dont scout players manually,

Maybe I should start in the lower leagues in portugal how about that? does it really makes the game more interesting ?

Dont stay in portugal. Many leagues have fun/challanging rules about selection and players. (Poland is very interesting).

Start in Bluefin Sport Championship as a sunday league manager. add N.Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Poland, Russia, Sweeden and Portugal.

Try and win every top division loaded with a single manager. Get a new job in the "next" nation once you have won. I think its fun. You can choose a different set of Nations if you want.

  5. Id make a few long term goals, and a few short term goals. And try a new team.

You said you always play in Portugal; I suggest that you start lower down and win the league in 3-4 smaller nations before joining a team in Portugal 15-20 years into the future(with the same manager) at the "end of the save" instead. You could start in Wales or Ireland, win in Poland and Slovakia and perhaps win the Sweedish or Russian league too before you take on Portugal and win Champions league..

Expect to have bad seasons. And Id also avoid managing the top/best teams because its a bit boring when there is no challenge.

  6. While managing Caerau Ely, my striker got a long term injury. I asked the DoF for a replacement and signed him without a trial or scout. He played his first competitive match for us at the agr of ~23. And scored 5 goals in a single league match once.

He ended up Getting a PAIR of Golden boots in a single season.

I like to focus on achivements/performance instead of attributtes or CA.

  7. I assume "building a squad" means buying/loaning new players to the club.

I mostly look at History -> Career Stats. If he has played most of the matches last season, I then look at where his team finished and if they did better than me I will most likely sign that player.

I use the stars too, but I don't sign a 5 star player who is 23 years old and has never played any competitive matches.

Maybe stop looking at the 3rd definition on some random wiki page, and start looking at the first entry of a dictionary?

    pace - noun
the speed at which someone or something moves, or with which something happens or changes

And yes, something moving at a higher pace means something is moving faster. Therefor 20 pace is faster than 1 pace in FM.

Yes I agree that if you say "He has a higher pace" you mean that someone is running faster. But the number value in minutes would still be a lower value. And the  game uses numbers to tell us about a players pace.

Pace has many meanings depending on what you are talking about. Its not simple. I am talking about "Running Pace", in the context of a person running.  And the players do run in football manager.

Take a look at this page: https://calcrun.net/pace-time/#pace_time

    What is running pace

Running pace is the amount of time in which you run 1 mi or km. Pace indicates how much time the runner spends covering the distance. Knowing your average pace, you can understand how long it will take to cover the distance.

Running pace is measured in minutes-seconds per mile or minutes-seconds per kilometer, depending on the units used. For example, a pace of 6:40 min / mile means that one mile was covered in 6 minutes 40 seconds.

  9. I think its odd that a guy with 18 Pace runs faster than one with 5 in Pace. It should be the other way around!

Someone who runs a kilometer in 18 minutes would be slower than a guy who runs a kilometer in 5 minutes.

"In running, pace [4] is usually defined as the number of minutes it takes to cover a mile or kilometer. Pacing is often a critical aspect of endurance events. Some coaches advocate training at a combination of specific paces related to one's fitness in order to stimulate various physiological improvements.[5]"

  10. I think its for teams outside of Europe mostly. Perhaps the badge pack you are using does not contain all National badges. Mine only had european teams afaik. Try using a different badge pack. Or perhaps you need a French badge collection pack thing?

  11. well related question: Do the team talks you choose affect the players view on the match? or does it only affect their morale?. I understand all green response helps morale.

lets say in a teoretical situation: Both options "I have faiith in you" and "I excpect a win tonight" gives a green response, does it matter witch one you choose? (its only teoretical since you cannot know the effect in advance)
