  1. I was going to say, if it's not a "simulator" can we get rid of 90% of the admin the game frequently forces upon you?!
  2. A question I have about this... The players that leave as a result of this, what type of contracts do they sign? Are they getting the big money they're asking for or not?
  3. There's plenty of closing down, but I've never seen a press involving multiple players (on multiple players) in FM.
  4. Lots of interesting points, especially in the past couple of pages. Update sounds interesting (at least it feels like nerfed morale and other small things can be toned down etc) Is gegenpressing being overpowered considered an actual bug though? Is there anything in the pipeline about trying to "balance" this? This game and the past 4-5 feel pretty pointless otherwise. Talk about "casual" users is very much valid, but for the most part those seem to have what they want: a game where if you put the time in success is almost inevitable. Any chance of giving those who want more of a challenge / simulation something as well?
  5. The bit I don’t get… there isn’t loads of goals for a reason, that issue is, in itself, a “knock on”, yet one either they never spotted or were happy to go to release with anyway.
  6. I don't think the majority of players care about defending in the ME. Defenders don't know where the ball is/opposition players are which is the fundamental issue that never gets mentioned. Would be a game changer if the new Unity match engine changed this.
  7. This is actually something I noticed playing a couple of years ago (at least, I had an idea) Does scoring goals have any impact on a players value/rating? I'd have guys who'd scored 20 in 20 games (lower leagues) and their value would be the same as when I signed them. Has anyone else seen this?
  8. Would depend on the significance of the bug but is there any recent history to suggest bugs aren’t found with a lot more notice than this? There’s stuff that’s been issues for years that haven’t been fixed…
  9. Back in FM 2019, I think, the game where every game would have 2 or 3 rockets scored from outside the area. There'd be a bug report and the response would be "We need examples of this" and I just kept thinking... "It's happening in every game, how is this not already known".
  10. But the attacking/defensive balance issue has basically been an issue for 5+ years. You attack, you will win a lot of games, even if your team isn't that good. If they can't see it by now no amount of bug reports will change that.
  11. Yeah it's kinda bizarre, players don't press in the game, to my eye they never have. They can close down the ball carrier but they won't cut off his passing options. As for why it's so effective otherwise, I think the AI becomes more passive against teams with a high pressing intensity setting, and thus winning games is much easier. The bit you've touched on is good though. I wonder if the AI is more attacking against user teams with a defensive setting also?
  12. That's a league-wide thing, isn't it? Not just affecting matches people are playing in?
  13. And the fact that, unusually for an FM release, there aren't really that many match engine complaints... The relevant point is, it's pretty clear 90%+ of the userbase really don't care about most of the stuff raised here. A lot of people just want to take over their favourite team and have success with them, something FM has been good at for years.
  14. This was what stopped me playing the game. You take over a team in trouble, nothing seems to work then gegenpressing has you win 7 in 8.
  15. Pressing, in the match engine at least, has never existed. Players aren’t able to do it
  16. They're like that all the time though. To my eye defenders can only see the ball carrier - the ball going in one direction then back in the other is probably sufficient for the defensive players to reset and no longer be near the unmarked player.
  17. Been like this for what? 5-6 years at this point. I doubt it's a concern, I think having an "easy" tactical approach is part of the appeal for a lot of players.
  18. I'm not actually convinced stats or fatigue actually impact what's seen in the match engine. All the players look/play the same way. I don't think you could watch a non-league game and be able to spot the difference without the stadium around the outside.
  19. In the sense that the player nearest the ball closes down the ball carrier, yes. But in terms of cutting off passing options, is there any evidence of that? Haven't played much in the past couple of years but it felt like setting the pressing intensity to the highest setting just meant you'd constantly close down the ball carrier. I never really watched beyond extensive highlights though. Comprehensive just felt like extended just with loads more offsides.
  20. The bit that always gets me. Gegenpressing has been overpowered for 5-6 years yet... You watch a game in the match engine, players don't actually "press". It's both overpowered yet not especially clear what's actually happening. It's like putting a team on a high press just makes the AI more passive.
  21. If there's no longer plans to fix things between the Beta/Early Access and the official release date then they shouldn't call it "Early Access".
  22. People want a football manager game where it's easy to win. That will satisfy 90% of the user base, whether the set pieces work or otherwise. That's why FM is successful
