How is this bias? :D  Oh oops, I made I typo.. No further discussion about this.

Yeah, a is REALLY close to * on any kind of keyboard (and also requires holding down shift), definitely a typo and not a way of showing your disdain for a club.

That's a bit harsh for a typo, don't you think?

Though I did actually expect that Jurriën Timber would be rated higher, since he is part of the first team (with number 2 even if that does not really say that much) and even though he did not play that much minutes, Ten Hag said he is a strong rival for Schuurs.

I'm not saying this because of a single "typo" (lol, see above), but because of my observations and interactions with this person (not only on this account) throughout the years. I can easily dig up a handful of posts (here and on other FM forums he used to post on) in which he expresses his intense distaste for Ajax, either implictly or explicitly (PM me if you want proof). To me, it's pretty clear that Reddiablo is biased against Ajax, which is really sad as FM prides itself on realism and objectivity. It's beyond ridiculous that a person with an obvious bias is in charge of handling the data of the Eredivisie for such a game, changing the experience of the players.

Anyway, I'll leave it at that, I don't want this to devolve into a flame war. Make up your mind for yourself.

    Hi Kyle,

Just an update for you; I’ve now ran 10 test games and in all 10, by early Oct, Ajax are taken over by a foreign investor (German x4, French x4, Italian x2)

Please can we ensure this is fixed as it completely kills the immersion as its so unrealistic.

This happens in FM20 as well (or at least after the winter update), IIRC. The owner is set to retire at 01/01/2020 (by default at the start of the save, no matter what you do), and then it triggers a takeover -- which is indeed very unrealistic.

  3. Why do AZ and PSV have superb youth facilities while Ajax "only" have excellent youth facilities? Yes, I'm an Ajax supporter (though I have nothing against those teams), but this is just inconsistent and unrealistic. In my opinion, Ajax' youth facilities should be state of the art -- even Club Brugge have state of the art youth facilities.

It goes without saying that Ajax are renowned for their youth academy, to the point that foreign clubs pay Ajax for their expertise in this department. This isn't just some sort of baseless "urban legend" that is endlessly repeated, as it's backed up by several studies and statistics. For example:

    https://football-observatory.com/IMG/sites/b5wp/2020/wp312/en/

    (sort by "score")

The rating of the youth facilities also is not in accordance with the in-game PAs of young players at Ajax. This list obviously isn't definitive and probably still has inaccuracies, but how does a club with "only" excellent youth facilities produce so many high PA players? See:

    https://www.fmscout.com/a-football-manager-2021-wonderkids.html

This list is teeming with Ajax players, only Real Madrid have more players on this list (19 instead of 18, and it should be even if you update Q. Timber's PA).

I realise that state of the art youth facilities are usually reserved for the very best teams, but if Benfica and Club Brugge have state of the art youth facilities, I don't see why Ajax cannot have the same. Ajax are ranked higher in terms of UEFA club coefficients, have a similar or better reputation, and spend more on player salaries. They're not a "smaller" club than Benfica.

  4. Ajax:

    - Lisandro Martinez and Neres are on the very low side in terms of market values. They are both young, have caps for their national teams, and have (relatively) high CA/PA. Neres is also one of the top earners of the squad (which doesn't really seem right to me). Their values on transfermarkt.com (for what it's worth) are higher by a few multitudes as well. The same goes for some other players, but to a lesser extent. Most players are valued fairly.

    - Huntelaar earns 50k EURO per week (2.5 million EURO per year), which is as much as Tadic earns. His contract was extended last season, but on the condition that he agrees to a much lower salary, see:

    https://www.voetbalprimeur.nl/nieuws/923010/huntelaar-36-moet-flink-inleveren-bij-nieuw-contract-ajax-wil-graag-door-.html

You should consider decreasing his salary to 10-20k (obviously, these numbers are just an estimate from my side, but I doubt that he earns over a million per year) and increasing the salary of Blind and Klaassen, for the sake of balance and in order to reflect reality more accurately. Another minor detail: he's listed as a "first team player", but in reality he's only played 55 minutes so far.

    - Lassina Traoré should be in the first team.

    - Consider redadjusting Jurriën Timber's CA/PA. He's already breaking into the first team (played 155 minutes in the Eredivisie) and is considered to be one of the brighter prospects. He has a market value of 4 million on TM and turned 19 a few months ago. He should be rated similarly to Kenneth Taylor (in terms of CA/PA) or even a bit higher. In any case: he's not supposed to be one of the less good players of Jong Ajax, that's just wrong.
