Here is the squad we inherit at Saint Etienne, no real star players, but some potential in there. Obviously Saint-Etienne comes with the great facilities, great kits, and young prospects, perfect for an FM save. Tactically, nothing groundbreaking, just a tactic that I have had working for me since the 22.4 ME came out.

I think I'm done with FM23 for the time being. I like the idea of the Nearly Men challenge, but I will probably do it on FM22. FM23 hasn't been very fun or rewarding so far, and so I'm going to sink my teeth back into a game I have far too much playtime on. So! nearly men part two. We'll start with A completely clean slate, all 20 clubs that were previously nearly men are at play. We will spin a wheel to see which club we will start with. We needed a proper world class midfielder, and we get our guy for 55m, but only 20 up front. 3.4m is a steal. 6.5m. We've spent way too much money on him, but we needed a good LB. ALSO! Arsenal won the CL over Manchester City, so another club has been taken off the list. Reunited!

Damn. They hired someone else. Leeds it is! We're a very old side. We have SO much deadwood. We don't even have a 4* or better youngster. They're in such a bad spot, and we're in 19th with 18 games to go. Holy ****. We won our first game away at Aston Villa 2-1, with Gnonto's first goal in 18!!! hours. Dantas has been sold, he was a 5th or 6th midfield choice. 1m for this kid is an absolute steal. 24m is steep, but a regen fb that can attack!? We then beat Brentford 3-1 in our next match, with Barros making his debut. Mr. Soccer leaves for 16m, unfortunately he's not very good in this game. Huge signing.

Into December, and Leeds and Atleti are the two nearly men clubs available. Attended both interviews, and Leeds approach us first. I'll delay, because Atletico is the club I really want.

After a less than enjoyable stint with Saint-Etienne, I'm back in the job hunt. Hoping for a job with a decent financial foundation, the opposite of what I had been given at SE.

We've culled the squad, earned some money to sign more youngsters. Hopefully our RB of the future. This kid could be special. GK of the future. Our new rock at the back.

Just the three signings to start January, two free transfers from Sparta Prague, and a freebie from Montreal.

And the academy is pretty stacked, all three of these players will be first team regulars. This kid could be special. Training him as a IF on the left. Training him as a false nine. He's going to be a right inside forward. And then players who will be thrust into the first team for mentoring reasons, but still could be great. I really like the look of this lad, he could be top quality. Never going to be a ball player, but he's a great prospect nonetheless.

We have our next job in France! We're not a very talented bunch of players. Second from bottom, and we're using the same tactic as our last season at Brugge. And the best 11 so far.

Not much time for success, as we are now out of a job. The job hunt begins!
