Will be using it mainly for college work (computer science) and football manager in my downtime. 

Want something that will allow me to play fm at a decent speed, will this be good enough? 

Open to other suggestions, budget is around 1000

Hey mate, would this be good for playing the game at a decent pace? I would probably play the matches in the 2d engine by the way.

I don't know how any game would fare based on specs of the computer alone, but that processor is similar to a 2nd generation processor, and we are moving into the 8th/9th gen of processors.

However, it is above minimum spec so should be ok. It would depend on how many leagues and database size that you load.

What kind of processors should I be looking at?

How about progressing in the save? As will it take long to progress days, weeks, etc? Is there anything I should be looking at instead?

This look any good for running FM? Just inside my budget as well.
