  1. Season 10 update I have just had my first relegation in this save, when England were relegated from European League A. It wasn't really that surprising as a lot of great players are to old to play in the European Championship in 2028. So Pickford (now 32), Alli (30), Sterling (32), Will Hughes (31), Dier (33), Stones (32) and Holding (31) are forced to retire from international football, to give the players who are going to play in 2028 more experience. We are in a good position to win Premier League again, but Man. Utd have (unexpectedly) improved a lot with their ageing team. So it will be a tight race. In Carabao and Checkatrade we were drawn against Burton from League two and played against them twice in less than a week. It didn't end well for Burton and 10-0 is a new record win, but it does not count as it was a U23 game. All ten goals were scored by our golden generation; Rogers (4), Kabiru (4) and Bayode (2). Rogers also scored four goals in the Carabao game, so he scored eight goals against Burton in less than a week. All three have U21 or U20 games for England, but I don't think I have given them enough match experience. To give Rogers, Kabiru and Bayode more games I'm going to send English and Petr away on loan. We haven't really bought or sold anyone it is worth to mention in this transfer window.
  2. World Cup 2026 After the registration issues last time we only played two friendlies, mainly to give match practice to players who hadn't played enough at their clubs. Most of the first eleven were also rested against Saudi Arabia as we should easily beat them anyway and U.S.A. because we were qualified after two games. In the end we won the competition and Nyoso were the star with five goals in six games as a CF. After the World Cup we bought Nyoso and Salifu. I haven't been satisfied with any of our CFs and Nyoso have scored 58 goals in 88 Premier League games at a club that finished 13th, 15th and 12th, which is really impressive. We also needed another English player, as we still aren't able to fill a squad of 25 players. Elsewhere Kabiru were named best player in Euro U19 and could be the next Nyoso. Other than Nyoso and Salifu, the rest of our signings are either going away on loan or are going to improve our U23-team. The way I understand changes in player attributes, it is more likely to improve if a player gets a higher rating, so I have bought some players to improve our defence and MC. (For some reason every player who comes trough our youth academy with a decent PA are either a goalkeeper or a forward)
  3. Season 9 2025/26 We won Premier League for the first time and with a 11 points margin. Only one game lost are great, but with eleven draws we can still improve. Corti won the golden glove with 21 clean sheets and that's a new Premier League record. I'm pleased to see that we only conceded 17 goals, but I still don't understand why we conceded 25 goals less than last season. Corti attributes are only a minor improvement on Mannion and they have conceded 0,69 and 0,73 goals/90 min this season. I'm often trying to rest players by reducing tempo and using all subs in games we are winning and that could explain why we are not scoring more that 66 goals. We also had five players in the Team of the Year and Tymon (DL) and Richard (ML) weren't far away from increasing it to seven. After seven Premier League titles in a row, two Champions League titles, three FA cups and three Carabao cups, Mourinho only finished second in PL and were knocked out in semi finals in CL and FA this season. So he obviously had to be sacked. Liverpool, by the way, sacked their fourth manager in four seasons and Luis Enrique was almost the first Liverpool manager to qualify for a European competition in four years. After Gomes were sent of and Bayern scored a late goal we lost our first CL-final. With another £100M profits this season and £300M in the bank we could soon build a new stadium without any loan, but after winning PL and playing a CL final I expect our players to demand a lot higher wages. I'm not satisfied with Romo's 7,06 average rating or 0,60 goals/90 min, so I'm hoping to sign a new forward. The rest the best eleven are young and good enough to stay in the team next season.
  4. Season 9 Update 2 We have won five games in a row in PL now and are three point ahead of Chelsea with a game in hand. Man. Utd and Man. City have lost points in 9 and 10 of their games so far. Last season they only dropped points in 10 and 11 games, so they won't reach the 88 or 86 points they achieved last season. I was expecting United to decline a bit, but not as much as the have done so far. We have only conceded 11 goals in 23 games even tough I haven't really done much to improve our defence this season. Corti are slightly better than Mannion, but otherwise our players and tactics have been the same. Our U23 team have lost a lot of games, so I have started to buy some players to improve it (Diallo and Noufor). Mura (DC) and Nicolas (DMC) are the only new players in the first team. Pereiras contract would have expired in less than 18 months and he wouldn't sign a new one, so I accepted the £50M bid from Dortmund. He have played a few bad games lately, his goals/90 min are down to 0,64 and I haven't been able to fully retrain him into a CF after 2,5 years so it really looks like it's right to let him go. I often starts to favor my players after a few seasons. As a result players like Gribbin, Marchizza, García, Damian and Malowiejski have played too many games for the club. According to my staff Marchizza was still a championship quality player when he left and he should have been replaced at least a year ago. I guess it's best to compare attributes, like i did with Marchizza and Mura, to avoid my own favoritism. I didn't find a new forward to replace Pereira which means Romo and Díaz will compete to be our new CF. Díaz have been scoring a lot as an AMR and just won the Golden Boy award. Many players don't have any international experience and give their age Wallace, Richard, Gomes and Upamecano might never do. I don't know how much international experience matters in itself, but if we are going to challenge for the title every year we really need to have players how are good enough to play for the best nations in the world.
  5. Season 9 Winter update We have had a great start in Premier League this season and Pogba, De Gea, Dybala and Kane have started to decline, so this could be the season we finish on the top. With an average age of 23,68 years we have the youngest squad in PL and are going to improve a lot during the season. We are going to receive at least £74M in loan fees this season, but I can't really find many players to improve he team. Corti are our new first choice GK and arrived from Genoa after they were relegated. Genoa even allowed him to leave for less than his relegation clause of about £40M, but it's only fair that we get a discount as we have sent four players their way on loan to save them from relegation for the last two seasons. We have also signed a new backup MC after Lo Celso left on loan (with an £13,6M mandatory fee) and Herrera were sold (£14->18M). So we have made a profit of almost £30M on the two backup MCs signed on free transfer last season. Febas and Guichón were signed on a free transfer this season and are valued at £37M and £22M, so I'm looking forward to see their next transfer fees. After a few changes the goals per 90 min ration is acceptable for our offensive players, but Díaz' numbers are a bit high because he scored four against APOEL in CL.
  6. Season 8 2024/25 We were really close to win something with England, and were only five minutes away from penalties when Italy scored after Alexander-Arnold were sent off and gave away a penalty. Yeah, and we were four minutes away from winning when they scored their first goal. In Premier League, we are getting closer to United and were only 10 points behind them in the end, but conceded 42 goals against their 26. I tried to reduce the number of goals conceded from corners, free kicks and penalties and we only conceded 10 goals this season. That's a huge improvement from 19 conceded in the previous season, but for some reason we are now conceding more goals from open play. Even with 9 fewer goals conceded from set pieces we still conceded the same number of goals as last season. We also scored 20 goals from Cor/FK/pen (13 last season), but still we scored 2 goals less than last season (72 vs 70). Whatever I do we seem to both score and concede about the same number of goals. I don't know what to do to concede fewer goals, but Gribbin and Da Cruz will have to leave as their 0,16 and 0,17 goals scored/90 min are not good enough. Silva Vieira (0,45) were bought in January and will replace Da Cruz on the left, while Díaz (0,47) who were recalled from loan the same month will replace Gribbin on the right. Da Cruz also have a horrible cross accuracy and with only 7 % he is one of the worst crossers in my team, despite being a natural winger. Gribbin (9 %) aren't that much better. Nkoudou are not good enough as his pass completion are just 73 % and his technical stats aren't Premier League standard. Gomes on the other hand were the best in the league with 93 %, and he doesn't have any PPMs to increase his pass % or any tactical instructions. Against Swansea he didn't miss a single one of his 120 passes. Financially we are doing well and made a profitt of £93m, £43m were fees from outgoing loans. So I have the cash to strengthen a few positions before our next season. Two years ago I extended John English' loan from Liverpool by another two years as they didn't demand any payments in return. While English only have played 7 (9) games in these two years he is still selling the most shirts. Guess it's best to extend his loan by another year... I'm not planning to use too much of our £150m transfer budget, but would like a DC(C) as the rest of our DCs are DC(s). Also I would like to buy a young promising GK to replace Mannion in a few years time and be a back up now, as Woodman are a Championship quality goalkeeper. But we might have to keep him to not have more than 17 foreign players. Lo Celso just turned 29 and started to complain about his contract, so we should find a new MC too.
  7. Season 8 update The three lions finished the year without any more defeats, but Kane retired from international football, so we are in need of a new world class forward. Both Rogers and Kabiru have been capped at the U19 level this season. It looks promising, but they will have to be retrained as our HOYD seems to like defensive forward more than I do. After 22 Premier League games this season we had 39 points, not much of an improvement there. It will be hard to improve our 3rd place from last season as both Man. City and Chelsea have been good this year. City just bought a £143m DC from Juventus and it will be nearly impossible to close that 10 point gap between us in the last 14 games. Unfortunately we were drawn against Bayern in Champions League, so our only remaining chance to win a trophy will be in the FA cup. A week ago we won our first game against Man. Utd, 3-0. Great to get our revenge after they knocked us out of the Carabao cup, and a few more defeats. And Liverpool have sacked another manager. Guardiola went to Paris SG where he won everything except the Champions League and were unbeaten in Ligue 1 after he was sacked. It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the managers they are sacking... We signed two more brazilians, but had to send one away on loan as we had more that 17 foreign players. Márcio José are a younger and better version of Magrão, but for some reason I can't find a good DC who can play with a cover duty. All of our DCs are stoppers and someone have to be retrained. Valdir Silva Vieria are a right footed complete forward, but will be retrained to a Inside forward to play at the left side, as Da Cruz now are down to 0,10 goals/90 min. Da Cruz will have to leave in the summer unless he improves a lot for the rest of the season.
  8. Summer update This summer I played my first European Championship with England. It was a bit disappointing. I arranged no less than four friendlies before the competition to give some players international experience - only to discover that the squad had to be registered before the first friendly. So while other teams rested their players after a long season, we played four games before the tournament and were knocked out after a goal in the 119th minute of the 2nd round game against Germany. Germany had two newgens and the rest of their team were not real players and started at full fitness. At least I learned something. I also discovered that we can't build a new stadium for the next 15 years, as our existing stadium were built in 2015. Apparently you have to wait at least 25 years to build a new one. Should have considered how old the stadium were when I choose a team. Now we don't have to worry about building a too small stadium, only to wait another 25 years to build a new one. I had a look at Manchester Uniteds income and the small stadium shouldn't affect our income too much. Last season they had an income of £824m and we only had £197m. Only £77m out of £627m of the difference between us were caused by their higher income from season tickets and gate receipts (and I guess we would have had to pay a lot in interest on a new stadium loan). About 1/3 of the difference were due to lower income from sponsorship. We really just signed the two brazilians Magrão (DC) and Wallace (DL) and Lo Celso for the first team this summer. The others were either planned to go on loan or are here to tutor youngsters. With £55m received from transfers we will set a new record this season. £33,5m of that will come from loans and should at least close a part of the financial gap between us and Manchester United. Most of the 21 players out on loan have a few years left on their contracts, so we make money on them for some time.
  9. Season 7 2023/24 This season we were involved in the title race, but only managed to get four point in the last five games. Not that we really had a chance anyway, as we could have had 83 points if we had won all five games, while Man Utd ended at 88 points. For some reason we are losing a lot of points as soon as the media starts to talk about our chances to win the league or qualify for some European competition. Last season we only got one point from the last three games, scored once and conceded eight. Liverpool didn't play European football this season after they finished 10th last season and they won't do it season either, after they lost 0-5 against Chelsea in the Carabao cup final and were 9th in Premier League. They are winning 53 % of their games with their new manager, while Mancini and Guardiola won 50 % and 57 %, so they might sack another manager soon. They have signed a bit old players and their five DCs are Bonucci (37), van Dijk (32), Matip (32), Maguire (31) and Diego Llorente (30), so they need to buy many players during the next few years. It doesn't help their future that they also have Firminio (32), Luan (31) and Salah (32 in 14 days) and it will be hard to replace these old, overpaid players. After we started to play with a DM against teams who used an AMC, we have conceded 21 fewer goals than last season (63 vs 42). Man Utd have conceded 29 and 24 goals, so I think we have to reduce the number of goals conceded by another 21 goals to be able to win Premier League. 15 of the 42 goals we conceded were free kicks or corners and another 4 were penalties. Man Utd only conceded 5 from cor/fre/pen. I will take a look at our set pieces again, but I think the problem is that our midfielders aren't good enough at heading and jumping. Before the season started I saw that we were losing the ball way too often when our goalkeepers were passing, so they were asked to make fewer risky passes and distribute to defenders. Mannions pas % increased from 42 % last season to 73 % this season, so we are keeping possession a lot better. When our defenders are going to receive more passes, their own pass % becomes more important. Martínez (80 %), Tymon (84 %) and Pellegrini (87 %) have been really good, while Marchizza (69 %) and García (68 %) have not been good enough. I have been trying to improve their passing, but I think we have to buy a new DC, who are better at passing. The board gave us a transfer budget of £60m out of a balance of £81m, so we should be able to find someone. They also improved our facilities and expanded the stadium with 1,250 seats and after the expansion the stadium will reach its maximum capacity (20,000). It would have been better if they used the £2m for the expansion and some of that £81m from our balance to build a new stadium as we are already sold out in our 18,750 cap. stadium. I don't know how FM calculates how high maximum capacity it gives a team who are building a new stadium and I hope we don't have to build a 40,000-stadium only to expand it to 60,000 and then build a new one in a few years time. Manchester United have dominated English football in this save with 6 consecutive Premier League titles, elsewhere Bayern and Juventus have just won their 12th and 13th consecutive titles. I haven't mentioned it before, but the promising striker Pell never developed at all and were released last summer. This year three promising youngsters have been given a contract, and I'm hoping they at least will develop more than Pell. This seasons summary isn't in yet, so I can't see who is named the worst signing of the season yet. As expected there are a lot of new players in our best eleven this year, but I think we will be playing with about the same team next year. As said, I'm hoping to sign a new DC, and Cashman should develop enough to push D'Urso out of the team. Tymon will do the same to Pellegrini, as Pellegrinis high rating are caused by the fact that he is mainly playing against weaker teams. Some part of our transfer budget has to be used to sign contracts, as we have a number of players with only 1-2 years remaining on their existing contracts. Our ST and AMR/Ls have scored 98 goals this season, while the rest of the team only scored 21 goals. The more defensive players are too bad at shooting to ever be a real threat to our oppositions goalkeeper, so we have to increase the number of goals scored by the front 3 (or 4) positions. Da Cruz are now scoring 0,23 goals per 90 min and have to improve further. Wilson, Richard and Gribbin are at 0,29, 0,31 and 0,32 respectively and will also have to score more goals. Wilsons goalscoring rate was disappointing for a player with his attributes, but I hope a few PPMs will help all four of them next season.
  10. Season 7 update Gribbin is still our top goalscorer and have scored 7 goals in 14 games. Still after seven season we have only one newgen in the squad and with an ageing squad I think it is best to leave soon as England does not seem to have much of a future. Also, it get a bit tiring to play 8-9 games each month. Last season our only trophy was Checktrade, but our achievement of the season will be even greater. Our 2-1 win against Liverpool was the final nail in Mancini's coffin, as he was sacked later the same day. Must be a bit expensive to sign Guardiola and a lot of staff from City only to terminate their contracts one year later, sign Mancini and a lot of staff from Dortmund and then terminate their contract after a year. One of Mancini's guys wasn't too bad, so he joined us. Even though the team should be improved by new and better players, and progression from the rest, we are not doing that much better in league than last season. We had 39 point after 22 games last season and have 38 this season. It may be because the other teams adopted to our tactics and started to say that then knew how we were going to play in January last season. In our last 16 league games last season we played 7-3-6, so we should be able to beat the 63 points from last season. We have a few players away on loan who are developing very well (13 players in top divisions in England, Germany, Italy and Spain). Most of them will not play any more games for us, and I'm planning to sell them in 1-2 years time, when they are closer to their peak. Ideye, Abdennour, Lulic and Layún have done well as tutors. Sparv have been important too. I think he is the first tutor who haven't started to complain about lack of playing time and left after 1/2-1 season.
  11. Just an update on the players. I have signed a few players this season who could be good enough to win Premier League in a few years time. In the best eleven last year there were some players who obviously can't take the club to the next level. James with an average of 6,71, Holland 6,79, Nebegleras 6,77 and Pellegrini 6,88 had to be replaced. D'Urso 6,96 and Gribbin 7,11 are 26 and 25 years old, so they are not going to improve enough to be more than backup players. Mannion 6,81 and Upamecano 6,79 didn't play too well either, but both of them have the attributes to play a lot better. And they have been developing a lot since the start of last season. I have seen Mannion, Pellegrini, Marchizza, Gribbin and Sportelli getting a lot of caps in another save, but because of lack of playing time and injuries I were able to sign them very cheaply. I hope to be able to develop them a lot and make some money on them, but it could already be to late for Pellegrini (24), Marchizza (25) and Gribbin (25) to ever reach their potential. I didn't notice before just now that Pellegrini was named worst signing of the season last year. I feel that's a bit unfair as he only cost £105K in fees and he is paid £6K per week. Pellegrini (£105K) played 24 (3) Premier League games with a rating of 6,88, while Mendes (£31M, might increase to £39,5M) were only good enough to play 6 (8) games with a rating of 6,54. I still think we made the better deal. Pellegrini will only be a backup anyway, after we signed Tymon. With Tymons £19M fee and 6,87 average I'm looking forward to see who is named worst signing this season. Tymon is only 24 and English, so he will be given at least a few years to improve. Stoke actually sent him on loan to League One and Championship the first two seasons and then only played him in 7 (6) games over the following three seasons before he went on loan to Championship again. They really mismanaged one of the best English DLs in this game. To take over Gribbins responsibilities on AMR we signed Wilson (£4,7M). His attributes makes Wilson look like a huge improvement on Gribbin, but so far he hasn't played according to his abilities. Because a lot of teams started to understand our tactical weaknesses halfway through last season (big red area behind our two MCs), many teams played with an AMC against us. I have actually seen a team play no less than three AMCs. So we are replacing one FC with an DMC in our lineup when the opposition team are going to play an AMC. Last season I signed Ilic and Maksimovic to do the job, but both failed. Maksimovic were sent to Fiorentina on loan with a mandatory fee of £9M, so he wasn't a financial failure at least. No one were willing to pay anything to sign Ilic, but I was able to offload him to Getafe. This season we have signed Gomes (£1,4M) who are a natural DMC, so we don't have to play any MCs out of position. (well, Ilic was a natural DMC, but he didn't play well anyway). The change in tactics should cause us to score fewer goals but we should no longer concede 3-4 goals against teams who are playing an AMC like we did last season. On the right back Martínez (£18,5M) may be our man for the next ten season, but I don't expect him to play much for Spain as he is only the third best DR in the Spanish U21-team. As we are now only are playing with one FC, I though that it was best to have a player who are able to do everything by himself. So I wanted a complete forward, but didn't really find one. In the end we signed Pereira and are trying to retrain him into a CF. With only one forward we need the rest of our players to score more goals, so our AML needs to score more goals. Da Cruz is a natural winger and only scored 0,12 goals per game last season, so we signed Richard to play as a IF. I think we still need a DC and maybe a MC, but we should be able to challenge for a place in Champions League soon.
  12. Season 6 2022/23 The first season as a national coach have been as expected, but a loss against Belgium can result in a play off given the low quality of the rest of the group. Wasn't expecting Gribbin to be top goalscorer and best player, but I guess it might help me not getting fired for using players from my own club who really aren't good enough. I have tried to sign more English players, as a lot of players have to be sold or go on loan to get us down to 17 foreign players next season, but most players who are good enough to play in Premier League and for England are not interested. United were knocked out by Bayern again this year, but at least they managed to beat Liverpool in the FA Cup final. (and win the league again, 5th time in a row) Liverpool didn't play well in league and needed to win the final to play continental football next season. Instead we got the last place in the Euro Cup. I thought it was over after we lost the last two games of the season, but I'm ok with rearranging our plans for the pre season:) After we qualified for Europe, our debt were paid, facilities upgraded and the stadium expanded. I'm most pleased with the fact that this expansion takes two months longer that the last one, so we can stay in Macron stadium a bit longer. Bolton, but the way, are playing in League One now and are planning to build a new stadium with a capacity of 15 000. This will be the first season we have spent more on transfers that we have brought inn, but with a £60M budget for next season our spending will only increase. The increase might be caused by the fact that we are spending 1/10 of what Manchester United does on wages… I'm surprised to see seven of the players from last seasons team still in the first 11. I was expecting a higher turnover this season. Most of the players will not be good enough to one day win Premier League, so the turnover should increase next season.
  13. Season 6 update I have had a good start with England and Mannion, Woodman and Gribbin have got a few caps. We have been playing well in Premier League, but were knocked out of the cups at the earliest opportunity by Manchester City and Bradford City, who are 14th in League One at the moment. I'm pleased with our league performance, but really needed some cup games to develop our youngsters. Most of our youngsters are loaned out now, but no one wants to loan the rest of them. So I'm controlling our U23-team to give them some experience in Checkatrade. I don't know if it will help their development much, but it looks like Checkatrade is our only chance to win something this year. Part from Upamecane, who was wasn't playing much at RBL after they signed Phil Jones, we have only signed backup players in January. I tried to sign a transfer listed Harry Winks, but he wasn't interested and joined Everton instead (£6,75M). I don't know how FM are valuating players, but something seems wrong. Just look at Mannion, who have played 1/2 season in Premier League and the national team, he is only worth £550K...
  14. Season 6 Preview Just a short update before the first season in Premier League. Manchester United have really dominated English Football in this save. They were nr. 2 in the first season and have won Premier League four times in a row since. They have won Champions League twice and lost one final against Bayern. In 2018-2019 and 2019/20 United were knocked out by Bayern on penalties and away goals. United have signed Kane, Asensio, Rugani and Mané. Looks like a strong team, even before Dybala joined them this summer. England were looking for a new manager after a disappointing World Cup and offered me the job. I accepted. I hope to give my English players (Gribbin and two new goalkeepers) some caps and use their scouts and knowledge of English youngster to find youngsters we can buy. And with that contract I will make more money in five weeks, than I have done in the first five seasons. We have signed some players to make the team ready for Premier League, but I hope to sign two or three more.
