    This is a Fiorentina all-time 11 right?

It's kind of unbalanced and has basically two tens with Rui Costa and Baggio. An asymmetric 4-3-3 could be the shape.

You could read the "Style of Play" section on Wikipedia of each player to better understand what role they should play.

    For example Batistutahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabriel_Batistuta#Style_of_play ):

    image.png.ab2915f0255d270d3ab24d20767dd967.png

He is basically the perfect Complete Forward.

Baggio is the quintessential Treqartista https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_Baggio#Style_of_play ):

    image.png.19c05c2cc825a35c7276ba3af3ac89a7.png

    And so on...

So the shape and roles could maybe be something like this?

    image.png.fa504dabb3b4763598de559f59576cfb.png

It's very attacking, and basically, the only players doing any defending are the DM, the two CBs, and the left back.

Let me know how you intend to setup with your Fiorentina side!

love it, but im crap with tactics. so player roles and team instructions for this formation may be beyond me? i  may use it if im playing a really rubbish side.

Financially I would recommend Napoli or Atalanta, they also have teams pretty much ready to compete for the title. Juventus and Roma are a bit more tricky in my opinion as they are both in a really bad financial situation. Fiorentina is also a really exciting project!

I had already started a save with fiorentina, and was just testing the waters, but now im loving it! im going to carry on with them.

Please do! Looking forward to see your progress.

You're really blasting through the seasons. Well done avoiding relegation. How are you doing money-wise? Do you get a lot for transfers?

Yeah, that 90s Parma team was something else wasn't it? They played an Italian 3-4-3 (Or 3-4-1-2 to be exact). I would love to shift towards that formation in the future when I have steadied myself in the Serie A. With a Libero, Regista, and Trequartista to be extra Italian.

This was their setup in a 1-0 win against Juventus Ennio Tardini in September 1998:

    image.png.06f18bba3e1fa2fe64fb8ce7f4d9f683.png

Which could look something like this in FM24:

oh, this is a thing of beauty! i think i will wait a while before i try this out though! i loved seria a from the 90's and had a brilliant parma save on cm 98 all those years ago. happy days!

    Roma is a good choice.

Maybe you could become the Roma manager as the legend that is Francesco Totti and try produce the next Totti at Roma with you building a style of play similar to the one Roma played when Totti was their main man.

That is a good idea. how do you make totti the manager? i assume its more than just putting in the name as the manager?

  5. im looking to do an italian save, loved italian football since 1990 and the seria a of the 90's. always had a soft spot for roma. id love to recreate the tatctics from the 2001 winning season, or the line up with giannini in from the 80's, but im rubbish at tactics! also a team with good youth? i do like atalanta and fiorentina aswell.

  6. im thinking of going out my comfort zone and trying a girona save. realistically, is it tough? anyone had succes with them? either them or leverkusen. both very exciting teams this season, as im sure people know.

so just had an amazing first season. Won the league and euro cup. jesus top scorer in both comps, saka(more on him in a bit) and viera top assisters in the prem aswell.

But saka the ***** wanted to leave, could not persuade him to stay. so sold to man ****** for 170  million. game ruined for me.

Also smith rowe is unhappy as in his new contract, i missed that i promised to play him in the amc role as an advanced playmaker, and i play 433. So im thinking of changing to a 4231 but 3 monster center mids, kone, partey and douath. plus patino is back aswell.

And another promise i missed is martinelli, to be played as an iw rather than an if, knob.

    Some players are never happy!

Im tempted to start again. though my first season was amazing, losing saka after the first season ruined it for me, and with all the money i got for him, i went on a stupid spending spree. So with the updates on players etc, may be abit better.

Not much more I can do after that. No signings until Jan, where I put in Lemar on loan to cover the wings whilst I sold Holding, Cedric and Nelson plus loaned out Marquinhos.

Nketiah won POTY. Everyone played their part though. Saka and Odegaard had brilliant half seasons. Odegaard started strong and faded, whilst Saka did the opposite.

Moving forward Elneny is leaving for around £17m and Partey is in talks with Liverpool over a £69m move. I want to bring in either Camavinga or Enzo Fernandez as the DM. Might loan out Walters and try and bring through Norton-Cuffy.

Patino will get his chance this season too

wow! you must have an amazing tactic?!

I'm managing Rennes as well.  I must say that this is my most fun save I've had in years on FM.  I'm 3 seasons in and finished 2nd every year.  I just started season 4, 10 games in and I'm top but PSG are lurking with a front 3 of Mbappe (He left on a free and came back), Haaland and Raphinha.

may i ask what your formation, line up is? im just getting started with rennes and need any help i can get!

We identified where we needed to strengthen for the coming season and have made some transfers.

First up is Laurent Koscielny the experienced French man joins on a free transfer and provides a cheap short term solution to the CB position. He will do well mentoring some of the youngsters and on only £10k p/w is a very good piece of business.

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Two CB's were needed and two were purchased the second arrival is Jackson Porozo who joins from Boavista for £2m upfront and £500k a season for the next three years (total £3.5m) At 20 years of age the Ecuadorian is already on par with the best defenders at the club, some impressive physicals and room to grow he could be a rock at the back for years to come. He also arrives with low wages on £9.5k p/w and as you can see from the screenshot his value has already doubled from what we paid.

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

The next player we wanted was someone who could cover on both the LB and RB position's and ideally play wing back and that's exactly what we got. At £3m upfront and £1m per season for three seasons (total £6m) this was the most expensive signing we made. He has very rounded stats and is still only 22 years of age, due to him being at PSG the wages offered are on the higher side at £27k p/w but I believe long term it is a good investment. Capped at u21 level hopefully he can push on and reach his full potential at the club.

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

And finally the DM that we needed is Elisha Owusu. Already adapted to France from his time with Soxhaux and Lyon we paid £2.5m upfront and £1m a season for the next three years (total £5.5m) Versatile in the middle of the park he can play CM, DM or even cover at CB if needed. I have always had a soft spot for Ghanian midfielders since Michael Essien burst onto the scene at Lyon then Chelsea. Hopefully he can continue to develop and reach his potential at the club.

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

From the £12.8m budget available these players have cost us £7.5m plus signing on fees leaving us with £3.4m if the right player becomes available before the end of the transfer window. Im really happy with the way the team is turning out already and hopeful that the players signed won't flop.

hay, ive just started with rennes aswell. no idea of their style of football, but i am familiar with some of their players. And i hear they have some top youth players. Not sure its replicated in the game yet, maybe fm 23?, but i hear mathys tel is attracting a lot of interest? They do look a good team to use yongsters etc though.
