  1. I understand what you're saying but that is not the reason. I have tested my theory a few times using genie scout to check the actual PA of players and it does seem to get lower once I've turned pro or reached the football league. I completely understand your point about reputation and agree that's how it should work. What I'm seeing is that while I'm in non league and semi pro I somehow manage to bring through more players with high PA of 140+ then once I get to league two I struggle for many years with 120 odd PA players and only the odd freak who is better. This continued on my recent Bury save and for 3 seasons in the Prem I my highest PA player was 136.
  2. Has anyone else noticed this when playing in England? I find I always start with good intakes for the first few seasons, then they get worse even despite usually maxing out JC and YR. This isn't just about PA being relative to my squad either. I have a feeling that it's either when the club turns pro or gets to League 2, I can't decide which. My theory is that the club is then competing in a different pool. Basically before you hit league 2/ turn pro you have the best youth set up of all of the non-league/ semi-pro teams so you get the pick of the best players. After you get to league 2/ turn pro you still have good facilities, but probably not the best and also your club reputation is more than likely a lot lower than any of the football league clubs for a long time. It takes a long time of being successful to catch up. In this case all of the teams with equal or better facilities than you, but with a higher rep get the pick of the better players before you. Obviously you can still get the odd freak talent but it comes more down to chance. I also find that even though I might get one or two high PA players, the intake as a whole is still a lot worse.
  3. I got bored of the Bury save after reaching the Prem too quickly. It becomes a very boring slog avoiding relegation, waiting for March to come round for another poor intake. Started again with AFC Telford finishing mid table in my first two seasons, I was finally getting some upgrades approved to YR and JC and a coaching badge. My second season intake was very promising. At the end of the season the board said although I exceeded their competition expectations I had failed on my promise to play youth players and I was sacked. 🤣 Only 10 of thee starting 11 were academy players, I suppose I should have tried harder.
  4. Either click on the league in question, under the stats tab click team detailed, scroll down to the bottom of the tabs on the left hand side, attendance stats are there. Or you can click on the team, then history, records, attendance records.
  5. I'm not playing the challenge officially as I'm using a tier 10 English database and picked Bury first season, in tier 9. Apart from that I'm sticking to all of the rules. It's like playing on easy mode, their facilities and attendances are surely unrealistic. They do so well on gates that the finances are crazily strong for the level, and the board insisted in going pro second season, after only one promotion to the 8th tier. Because of all of this, the intakes are really strong and the players develop very fast because they are playing lots of games and training often because they are professional. I got back to back promotions straight to league One and will probably get promoted in my current season too, up to the Championship. This means the players keep improving because they are consistently playing at a higher level. In League One the stadium sells out every game so that's 11,000 odd. I am enjoying the save, it's like a speed run but it's nowhere near as satisfying as playing with a more challenging team.
  6. Yes, but they reject the request every time. I've been asking every time the option is available.
  7. This game can be very frustrating. The board downgraded my youth category from 1 to 2 at the end of last season for no reason, then accepted straight away to upgrade to cat 1. With over £10m bank balance. I can't even request any more youth facility upgrades, so they are stuck at Excellent while the training facilities are currently being upgraded to state of the art. I'm playing with Macclesfield, in my second season in the Championship. I can't offer contracts of more than £4,750 so none of my top players will renew. I'm going to lose 3 star players for free.
  8. I've never had this, but did have a player come through with a real players picture. I've only ever had it happen once, and I can only assume it's tied to an ID number?
  9. Now you're giving me something to think about haha. I honestly am useless with this kind of thing. My main priority is processing time for FM. https://www.costco.co.uk/Computers/Laptops-MacBooks/HP-VICTUS-AMD-Ryzen-5-16GB-RAM-1TB-SSD-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-4050-161-Inch-Gaming-Laptop-16-s0005na/p/476047 Is this the one you've bought?
  10. I've not pulled the trigger yet on this https://www.costco.co.uk/Computers/Laptops-MacBooks/HP-Victus-Intel-Core-i5-16GB-RAM-512GB-SSD-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-4060-156-Inch-Gaming-Laptop-15-fa1006na/p/476077 Would you go for that at £650 or the MSI at £700? Cheers again.
  11. Thanks a lot, I wasn't really in the market for a new laptop yet but saw this on hot uk deals and thought it might be worth it at the price.
  12. Hi all, can anyone find a better spec for around this price range, give or take an extra £150 or so? https://www.costco.co.uk/Computers/Laptops-MacBooks/HP-Victus-Intel-Core-i5-16GB-RAM-512GB-SSD-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-4060-156-Inch-Gaming-Laptop-15-fa1006na/p/476077 £650 with the discount code. Thanks a lot, I appreciate everyone's time. 👍
  13. Thanks, I always use the strategies you have listed, but have found them to not work as well this year. It's very frustrating when they are asking for thousands of pounds a week and I can offer £900 at a push to star players.
  14. Anyone doing this save as Macclesfield, how are you managing to get through the first few seasons? In the past I have always used South Shields, who have obviously now been promoted. I used to find the early seasons pretty easy because they were professional to start and also had a strong squad and some players had a few years in their contracts. Macclesfield are good because they get good gates and therefore strong financials. I finished mid table first season and managed an upgrade each to youth recruitment and junior coaching. The intake was still awful with nobody close to the first team. The real killer was trying to renew contracts. Even though we had plenty of money in the bank, I wasn't able to offer high enough wages, and the ones I could, I could only offer one year deals. I ended up losing most of the original players and couldn't buy a win in the second season. Any tips much appreciated as I do intend on going again with Macc.
