  1. I have had a lag problem since the Beta. CPU - i7-7700HQ GPU - NVidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti No change in performance when I change from High graphics to Low graphics.
  2. Many thanks for the fast reply again!! I have had a look around and have found this one on amazon that is under my budget - https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-1693UK-15-6-Inch-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B0767K2ZN8/ref=sr_1_8?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1525211179&sr=1-8&keywords=laptop&refinements=p_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A8322505031%2Cp_n_pattern_browse-bin%3A937175031%2Cp_n_feature_seven_browse-bin%3A8322553031%2Cp_n_feature_fifteen_browse-bin%3A8322531031%2Cp_36%3A9708209031&th=1 it looks like it has roughly the same specs as the ASUS, however the GTX 1050 is 4Gb instead of 2Gb.
  3. Many thanks for both replies!! What specs do you look at when deciding if the laptop is good enough? I notice that all 3 laptops are very similar withthe following differences - - i5-7300HQ v i7-7700HQ - GTX 1050 v GTX 1050Ti I am only asking as I can have a quick look around again before parting with my cash.
  4. Hi, I am looking for a new laptop and have a budget of £800. I have had a look around and have found these 3 - https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/9S7-16J962-1869-MSI-GL62M-7REX-1869UK_2191608.html https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/ZX553VD-DM970T-ASUS-ZX553VD-DM970T-Gaming-Laptop_2145528.html https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/9S7-16J942-079-MSI-GP62-7RD(Leopard)-079UK_2068374.html Are these good enough to play Fm18 and future versions? I dont want to be buying a new laptop every year when the game is released. Also, are there any better laptops out there for £800?
  5. I have just played the first winter game of fm18 and noticed the ball colour is weird. I am using the default skin and have only added facepacks and logos. The normal 'white' ball was fine but this one isnt Any ideas?
  6. I am looking at spending upto £850 for a new laptop. I currently have an ASUS ROG G551JM, however in 3d games it stutters a bit (Geforce GTX 860M). Any suggestions?
  7. 3 PRE-SEASON GAMES IN I have played 3 pre-season games and have seen a few places where I think we could improve. The following changes have been made and will see how they work - - Playing a BBM in the MCR position makes the player advance too far in to the AMC's space. After seing this happened I have now changed his role to DLP (S). The only reason for this is that the other roles would still make him sit in a more advanced position. - Both the ML and MR positions have now been changed to WM (S) with PI of sit narrower, get further forward and cut inside with ball. Hopefully these will make the wide players play like Inside Forwards and support the Striker even more. - With the wide mifielders now being changed to sit further inside, the DL and DR have now been changed to FB (A) as to give overlapping support and provide more width for the team. - Work ball into box has been added to stop long shots and to give more time for other supporting players to catch up with play and provide extra passing options.
  8. TACTIC SHAPE DECISION MADE After a day to think about it, I have decided that this is the tactical shape I will be adopting for this new attempt at enjoying FM16. The advantages that I can see with this tactic are as follows - - Solid in defense and midfield in any defensive phase - With the right TI's there will be enough players to break out and start an attack - Plenty of attacking options in the final third, aslong as the wide players advance quick enough WHAT PLAYER ROLES TO ASSIGN? I now have the job of identifying roles for all 11 players while making sure they all compliment each other and no spaces are left open for the opposition to exploit. Goalkeeper - I just want the Goalkeeper to be a normal run of the mill keeper who won't do anything stupid and just keep things simple. Left Back - This is the player I would like to break out from defense and make forward runs down the wing giving the opposition another problem to deal with. I would like him to go on the outside of the opposition defender and cross in to the box for a player to finish. Centre Halves - I want these 2 players to keep things simple and play shorter balls to either the central midfielders or the full backs. Being pulled out of position by opposition forwards is a definate NO NO. Right Back - The right full backs job is to support the right winger and keep solid defensively. Not played to rush forward but can cross from deep when the time comes. Left Midfield - I would like this player to be a creative player who cuts in from the left into a space in front of the oppositions defense. Doing this would make him harder to mark while giving him the opportunity to find a killer pass to the striker. Left Central Midfield - This player is played in this position to cover for the advancing left fullback. His secondary job will be to break up any oposition play in front of our back four and laying it off to nearby players. Right Central Midfield - This position will be the work horse in midfield, helping out in defense but also making forward runs to help out the attack. Right Midfield - I would like this player to make forward runs to help provide key passes to the striker leading to goals. This position would look to stay slightly wider than the Left Midfielder. Attacking Midfield - This player will be the creative player that is the closest to the striker. He will be the first player to play him in if a quick break is on the cards. Striker - The striker will be the main goalscorer and will need to hold a position in the centre of the box to stop him getting in the way of the players trying to assist him. After some consideration the following are the roles I have chosen to begin with - GK - Def DL - FB (A) DCL - CD (D) DCR - CD (D) DR - FB (S) ML - WP (A) MCL - CM (D) MCR - BBM (S) MR - WM (S) AMC - T (A) STC - P (A) REASONS FOR CHOSING ROLES DL - The attacking attacking full back who pushes past the ML ML - The creative player who sits between the oppositions midfield and defense but hopefully isn't picked up. (these 2 players are both on an attacking mentallity which I will have to watch as I would usually use a support role for one of them) MCL - The player to cover for the full back MR - I have never used a wide midfielder and so will have to watch this role to see if he does what I require of him, ie. make the runs up the wing but help the RB out in defense. AMC - I want this player to roam around looking for the ball and creating space where he cannot be followed without people being dragged out of position STC - Again, I have never used this role for a striker, I will have to watch that he doesnt get isolated and keeps in the game ready for any through balls or key passes to him. I am open to discussion on the roles chosen as I still do not feel it is the finished article until I see it in a game and can make changes that show progress in the match engine. MENTALITY AND TEAM SHAPE I am also looking at advice for mentality and team shape as I always seem to be attracted to the same combination of CONTROL and FLUID. I usually choose these as I want my team to be attacking but not too much and also want my players to contribute in more than one phase of play. I have played around with COUNTER but I don't like sitting back and absorbing pressure as I feel that I could always leak one goal and the other team would just it back and hold out for full time. This is definately a part of my tactic which I would appreciate some advice on and some experiences.
  9. Just to expand on the topic title, I have tried to start a Liverpool save and have had no luck in the last 5 loads. I seem to do well in pre-season andthe tactic looks like it is working how I want, and then the season starts and I lose a few games. The teams morale decreases and the results get worse. I have started this thread to see if I can get any help from the forum on my tactics and any other help. The tactic I will use will be a fresh start as I am obviously doing something wrong with my previous methods. I will start off with explaining what I would like my team to do and then look at the shape of my tactic and TI/PI's before going in to the players I will use. WHAT DO I WANT THE TEAM TO DO? Defending phases - I would like the team to press the ball when it is lost, but not too much that the players get dragged out of position allowing the opposition to take advantage of massive spaces. If possible I would like the defensive line to hold tight and allow the midfielders to do the pressing. Transition phases - I would like at least one full back to be involved in attacks and for a midfielder to cover him when he has pushed high up the pitch. Attacking phases - I would like the team to work the ball up to the final third and look for clever passes behind the defense for the striker to finish. Also there should be an option of a quick break away and a cross to the striker that has made a forward run in to the box. I understand that with these 'wishes' maybe they cannot be implemented at the same time and that is why I have posted here to find the best balance. SHAPE OF THE TACTIC I haven't decided on a final shape of a tactic as of yet, but have come up with the following ideas - 4-1-4-1 This shape gives me plenty of players for the defensive phase however I would have to have a look at roles and TI's to achieve my attacking phase 'wish' as the striker could easily get isolated. 4-2-3-1 This shape would give me plenty of options in the attacking phase but could leave me short during the transition phase (if we lose the ball) and the defensive phase as we would be short down the wings unless PI's were given to the wide players. 4-4-1-1 This shape looks like it would be good in the defensive phase, transition phase and the attacking phase aslong as the wide players could make up the ground to support the attack. 4-1-2-2-1 This shape looks solid defensively in the centre, however on the wings it could be a worry. The attacking phase could also be a worry if the players on the wings stay too far away from the striker, this could also be said about one of the central midfielders. I have used this one the most and have not been able to make it work.
  10. he could push to £500 but medium graphics is the minimum requirement
  11. I am looking for a laptop for my brother that will play FM16, running 4 leagues on maximum database and high graphics on 3d. His budget is £400 but can maybe push a little more if it makes a lot of difference. Any help is much appreciated
  12. Are there any options out there to make the winter ball larger? with it being yellow it is harder to see but I have had downloads in previous versions to make the ball larger and therefore easier to see. any help is much appreciated Andy
  13. I believe I have narrowed it down to these ones now unless someone can think of a better laptop for the price.
  14. I am currently looking for a laptop to replace my faulty Sony Vaio. I have a budget of £750 maximum. I have had a look around and found an MSI CX61 2PF-1464UK which has caught my eye ( http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/9S7-16GD11-1464-MSI-CX61-2PF-1464UK_1703768.html ) I use the laptop every day fro FM and web browsing, watching movies etc. I am after the best laptop I can for my money and would like one that will run at least English, Spanish, German and Italian leagues with a large database. If there are any other suggestions for laptops it would help as I am a little bit lost looking for one I have got these 5 in mind at the minute - - http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/CB-CZ7850-554HS-Cube-Chameleon-CZ-7850_1712658.html - http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/N550JK-CM531H-ASUS-N550JK-CM531H_1669293.html - http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/P15F-V2-CF1-Gigabyte-P15F-V2-CF1_1629234.html - http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/CB-CZ5850-985TG-Cube-Chameleon-CZ-5850_1744652.html - http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/9S7-16GH11-663-MSI-GE60-2PL-%28Apache%29-663XUK_1728981.html
  15. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, that is why I asked for people to add to this thread. Alinp - how would you set up a formation for Liverpool, as you haven't mentioned anything about the right side of the attack.
  16. I want him to be a wider player who beats his man on the outside early and puts through balls into the box in front of the striker or runs on to have a shot at goal. I have changed him to an IF(A) with the following instructions - - Mark Tighter - Fewer Risky Passes - Cross Less Often - Pass It Shorter - Stay Wider With these shouts I am hoping he can play as a winger but cuts in after taking his player on. We will see how it goes and I will update on here
  17. I am not sure if this would be the right place to post this but I am playing as Liverpool and have started a thread in the Tactics Forum and would like a bit of advice from other players of the game on developing the tactic to the squad. This is the thread - http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/396265-Brendan-Rodgers-Liverpool-13-14-%28help-needed%29?p=9806326#post9806326 Thanks
  18. I understand you may not have understood the above post correctly. The AMR position of Winger cannot be given cross less often. The only way to give this instruction would be to pull him back to the MR position and give him the role of wide midfielder, activating the option to give him Cross Less Often.
  19. * Just a quick update Played 25 with this tactic, won 16 , lost 6, drawn 3. Scored 45, conceded 23. Sturridge has scored 14, but hasn't played every game. I have noticed recently we are having a lot of crosses from both fullbacks and the AMR. Also the CM(A) is getting a few crosses in. Most of crosses from the AMR are not successful, last 2 games 15/2 and 11/1 from my right winger. The AMR though, has been scoring more than I thought and so I do not really want to drop him to the MR role just to give him the instruction to cross less often. Are there any suggestions of how to stop him crossing as much? and also how to stop the wingbacks crossing so much
  20. I have recently taken a new way of assessing tactics and player movements as seen in my last thread. I will have a go at trying to help out with this one but cannot look in detail how the players move around the pitch as I am just giving advice. Looking at your formation and player roles I would look at changing the AP(A) to a CM(A) as the AP does not make as many forward runs as you would expect and you can get the CM(A) to be more creative with Player Instructions if need be. The rest of the formation looks good as a starting block to make tweaks to. The second thing I had a look at are your Team Instructions, here are a few points I would like to bring up - - Pass Into Space, (This can put pressure on yourself if your team are not the best passing side as they will look for passes for players to run on to and this could result in a turn over of possession easily) - Hit Early Crosses, (Having had a look at your striker roles, the CF(S) would drop off when your team are defending and any early crosses from a break away would leave your Poacher on his own against the oppositions defenders) - Play Wider, (This shout not only makes your wingers play closer to the touchline, it also creates space between the CM's. This could give the opposition the advantage in the middle of the pitch and counter you through the middle) - Drop Deeper, (Your defence would drop away form your midfield and any link you would want between the 2 lines would be gone. Even with a CM(D) the defence would be too far away for him to help out with any players playing in the AMC position against you) I would recommend that you use the following Team Instructions - - More Direct Passing (to get the ball to the advanced players quicker than a possession based tactic) - Exploit The Flanks (as it says, to get the ball to your wingers) - Higher Tempo (any attack you have will be done with a bit of speed to catch the opposition out of position, hopefully) These three instructions all together would give you a style of play that would be looking to get the wingers onto the attack as quick as possible and give the opposition team a lot of problems if they do not defend well. With these instructions being added I would look at Player Instructions to get the best out of the players. This can be the difference between just choosing an attacking winger and hoping he does the things you want him to, or choose a support winger and making him do the things you want. I looked at the full backs for a start and thought about what I would want them to do. In your system they would be looking at giving the ball to the wingers to cross or hitting a cross in themselves. Therefore I added these Player Instructions - - More Direct Passing - Cross More Often These 2 instructions along with the Team Instructions would get your fullbacks to look for the wingers with direct passes, but also look for the forwards with crosses and direct passes. The wingers were up next - ML - More Risky Passes, More Direct Passes MR - More Direct Passes With these instructions, the ML would be looking for the strikers with longer passes than normal and even look for them when the pass would have less of a chance at making it to the player, with a good passer of the ball the % of balls that would make it would be increased. The MR as he is set to a support role cannot have More Risky Passes and so I can only give him More Direct Passes which as I said above, would be looking for the strikers with longer passes. My final thing for this tactic would be to change to a Fluid, Counter style. This would let more of your players get involved with helping the wingers out and also would soak up a little bit of pressure before catching the opposition off guard and hitting them on the break. I know this is a bit of a long post but I am just trying to put my own spin on what is going wrong and what could be tightened up in the tactic. I am no Cleon or a tactical genius but I would like to help out, I am still learning the tactical side of the game every day.
  21. Weirdly 2 of my CD's have composure of 12 and 8, but they still seem to be comfortable on the ball. I do keep an eye this in the game and they are performing well.
  22. Thanks for the reply. With regards to the HB, I thought that role was the only one that dropped between the CD's but after choosing DLP(D) I have noticed he does the same but also pushes out slightly more to join the midfield. If I play against weaker teams I can also change him to a DLP(S) so he joins the midfield more. The CF(S) is a role I have never used as I liked to have a role with a player doing one thing and I didn't see any player on the game as being 'complete'. Obviously I overlooked the real reasoning behind the role and it works perfect for me with the player dropping off and also making the runs behind the defence. The work ball out of defence does make the play a little nervous at the back sometimes but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in my mind with this team.
  23. After now playing 9 games from the start of trying to get this tactic working, I have won 7 (Arsenal, Sunderland, West Ham, Barnsley, Hull, Swansea and Burnley) and lost 2 (Aston Villa and Everton. I have scored 21 goals and conceded 9, with Daniel Sturridge scoring 7. I have settled for the Team Instructions as follows - - Shorter Passing (to encourage the players to look for players close to them and keep possession) - Play Out Of Defence (as the team in real life, I would like them to start any attack from the back and to keep possession before giving the ball to more creative players) - Run At Defence (to try and get past the oppositions player meaning we can have an advantage with player numbers) - Higher Tempo (to keep the ball moving meaning the opposition cannot have a break and will have to concentrate on where the ball and our players are) These instructions seem to work well and I have seen the ball being played along the back line and between the CD's and DM. The advanced players dribble more with the ball when faced with an opponent meaning we have more chances to score. The higher tempo does exactly what I wanted and we move the ball around quicker from player to player, with the midfield three there are plenty of triangles being played and the opposition cannot defend against it. I have also gone with a Counter mentality and Fluid. By watching the game the players will get back into position when we are defending and let the opposition have the ball deep in their half but close them down when they look a threat in our half. The players also help in attack and defence more than what they did when I have used Rigid. I still make a few changes in the game if there is a need to, as I do not believe there is an all encompassing tactic for this game like in the early versions. I am glad I have taken the time to write this as it made me watch the games in full and take notice of what the players do when given specific roles. I used to be a player that would just choose a formation, add what I though should be right and then chose the players and pressed GO. Then when I didn't win games I was getting annoyed that nothing could be done. Thanks to this forum I have been able to change that and I hope that this thread can help a few other people. I am going to try and have a go at the set pieces now as I do not believe I am taking full advantage of them, both defending and attacking. If anyone has any ideas or would change anything I have written about in my game then please just post on here as I am willing to discuss my choices and also take on advice for the tactic.
