I really hope that's the end of Southgate, England have been so hard to watch under his leadership.

I'm surprised how unfancied Netherlands are, they've controlled games better than the Argies and are less reliant on moments and I don't see how the Argies keep a clean either. It'll probably end Netherlands 1-2 Messi but if Messi is kept out in those moments when he senses something special then Netherlands in all likelihood win this.

They were very good Vs Denmark too then just didn't turn up vs the Aussies.

There is no way this should be happening unless there are hidden personality traits and even then a young kid surely wouldn't have that much of an ego.

Poland have looked abysmal going forward, I'd expect the Argies to win that game to nil.

I'm delighted we face Senegal from Group A. Qatar were never an option to progress so from the other three we have got the best option for us I feel and I think we'd have struggled against Ecuador whereas I fully expect us to beat Senegal in 90 minutes. Looking ahead France will be difficult but (on paper) that is the only major obstacle between us and the final as the other side's who should be on our half of the draw aren't as good as us (again on paper), hopefully Argentina draw with Poland and face France next and that match goes all the way to penalties.and fatigues whoever we face, here's hoping haha.

This is a massive result, Croatia win tonight and Belgium have it all to do.

Why has Roberto Martinez always been highly rated? He has never really achieved anything and this Belgium team despite having world class players throughout there team are abysmal.

Biggest surprise I think has to be the Saudi's beating Argentina. Biggest disappointment was probably how poor Belgium looked, they remind me of England's golden generation where so much is expected but they never live up to the expectation. Who will win? I think Argentina will manage to get out of their group and win it but Spain would be my other choice, either of them I think.

Senegal should be going for goals here in the hope Netherlands beat Ecuador as then a draw cod be good enough. Also for England too as I think Ecuador will be much tougher for us than Senegal, I don't fancy us in 90 minutes Vs Ecuador I think it'll take extra time or pens in a cagey affair whereas we'll be fairly comfortable Vs Senegal.

Wales were absolutely terrible today, just so poor and I wanted them to do well too. Anyway if England win tonight they're through so then a USA draw with Iran would mean a Welsh win against England would see them through. Also if England win tonight then USA win Vs Iran the Welsh could still go through on goal difference. Wishing thinking but here's hoping...

Much better, players in their favoured positions and if we played a back 4 a very good team imo, some would have Sterling in or maybe a more defensive minded player in the midfield but it's a good attacking team for me.

Haha maybe, football under Southgate has been turgid though and I highly doubt other managers would've scraped a draw against a poor Colombia, a decent manager would've beaten them comfortably I feel however who knows, even if we win the World Cup I'd still want Southgate to leave.

I wrote further up why I prefer it, I think it'll actually be fairer as it compensates for weaker groups by putting all teams in one league this meaning qualifying through a weak group with 9-11 points is unlikely to get you seeded and stronger teams will more likely meet in the latter stages.

I actually don't remember ever seeing a current big team relegated in any save I've ever done, I usually play about 20 seasons too.
