  1. Thanks. It's no big deal because I'm not close to getting fired, but my job grade is a C when it probably should be a B+ or A-. I guess I'll just have to win the league next year!
  2. I have a quick question for anyone using this mod. I don't recall it ever happening to me before in vanilla, but it's happened to me a couple of times since I started using this mod. It may just be a coincidence, or I may not be remembering correctly. Anyway, my preseason goal was to finish in the championship group (top 6) in Denmark. I finished 2nd. I was actually 1st going into the last stage, but had a bunch of injuries and got on a bad run of form. But I still finished 2nd...yet the board tells me I've failed and they are disappointed in my performance. Has anyone else had this happen?
  3. Great read, thanks. I've always struggled a bit with the 4-4-2, but my current team has two good strikers who should in theory play well off each other, so I've been trying to find a good 4-4-2 tactic. I'm going to give this a go.
  4. General rule of thumb is that when younger than 18, training is most important. Once a player turns 18, games are more important. It varies, though. For example, if I have an 18-year old and have world class training facilities, it's probably better to just keep him on my reserves roster rather than loan him out. Depends on which teams are interested in a loan deal. If a club with a good coaching staff and good training facilities is interested, then loan him out. However, if it's a League One club with average training facilities and a small/mediocre coaching staff, then I think it's best for him to stay at the club, play for the reserves, and get playing time in cup matches. There's no hard set correct way to do it, but the above is how I generally try to do it. That said, if I'm managing somewhere like Switzerland or Denmark and have a 17-year old who is ready to play a lot for the first team (as I do in my current FC Nordsjælland save), I use him on the first team.
  5. Several months ago I actually read online the way to edit the star ratings out, but at the time I wasn't interested in doing it. But when I tried to find it again, I couldn't! I think my ideal system would be no star ratings, and no precise attribute ratings. For example, even fully scouted players would have a 16-20 finishing rating, or a 12-15 marking rating, because like in real life opinions would vary. I think that would make the game harder and more interesting. Not that I'm complaining...it's still great either way.
  6. Here's a skin I'm considering trying: https://www.fmscout.com/c-fm21-skins.html?id=7210 Takes out the star ratings, but it also takes out the numerical attribute ratings and replaces them with colors. Is your striker's finishing a 16 or a 19? You don't know. More realistic that way, as I think most of us could sit here all day and argue about player ratings. I haven't tried it yet because I just love the look of the Flut skin. I have no skill in modding, but I wish I could find a way to put the features of the realism skin into Flut Skin.
  7. I don't really like it either. I think you are on point. As an American, I'm used to salary caps in American sports, which creates parity. Otherwise the Dallas Cowboys would win the Super Bowl every single year, because they have a lot more money than anybody. In baseball, Tampa Bay made the World Series last year despite having the lowest payroll...that would be the equivalent basically of Fulham or West Brom finishing 2nd in the Premier League. The same team winning over and over gets boring after awhile. Juventus, PSG, etc. win their league every single year. I'm afraid that interest will wane for fans of mid-table teams across the world because these days it's all about the money. Even if you do everything right, hire the right coach, have a great youth development system, you still have no chance because you'll get outspent. That said, from a purely fun gaming perspective, I'm actually considering a RB Salzburg save myself, haha. But I think I'll start unemployed and see what jobs open up in the first six months. That would be a more realistic way of doing things, rather than bumping an established manager.
  8. Rangers have always been a go-to team for me, but may be too easy this time around considering how good they are in real life! Perhaps somewhere in Belgium or Holland, though the Dutch transfer bug is a bit of a turn-off for me. Denmark, maybe. But first I'll load up a test save to see what jobs are available at the beginning of the game.
  9. I took a couple of months off from FM to wait for the Winter patch and for this mod to be further developed. I think today is the day I start a new save! I think I'll go all-in on full realism this time... mods for agents, language, injuries, relationships, etc. using the guide on FM Scout. Really looking forward to it...if I don't get sacked for the first time ever on FM I'll be disappointed! And now, for the truly hard part...spending two hours trying to figure out which team I want to start my save with!
  10. The process seems to take a lot longer in the offseason. I guess because the board feels they have more time. But yeah, it's annoying to miss out on the first couple of weeks of the transfer window. I've seen big jobs open up at the end of the season in May, and they aren't filled until early July or thereabouts.
  11. Good stuff. A few days ago I started my first-ever Swiss save with your files, going to try to bring Grasshopper back to the top levels of Swiss football. One thing that FM has taught me through the years is tax rates. Taking a look at my contract, I make 85k per year, and take 78k home after taxes! Wow, make room, I'm moving to Switzerland!
  12. Thanks for the update. Would I have to start a new save for the changes to take effect?
  13. Yep, I see that now. I'll fire it up again tonight and see if anything has changed.
