Focus play down left or right, not sure it makes the team try to play down either side, it increases the 'mentality' of players on that side. If you play around with your WB-A, say make him support, then inside tactic check he's individual mentality it could be balanced, add focus down left and or overlap left , check his individual mentality and it will change to positive etc

So long as the players attributes are suited to the new role, I don't care at all about his familiarity or red circle for the new position. Doesn't seem to affect my players. I've retrained players for years. Often DM's to CB's, rounded midfielders to wingers or fullbacks. One of my favourites was Thomas Soucek as a Tafget Man, lit up the premier league from day dot. If you are stressed about it, play them 45 mins in U21s whenever possible to speed up the process. And o f course train them in the position and role

I've tried to create a topic in there under the crashes section but can't seem to do it. since the update , aside from the issues it's brought in game, now my game keeps crashing. Doesn't give me a crash dump or error message, just quitting straight out of the game on random screens when clicking continue game. I'm in the pre season for my third season. Birmingham City. In the premier league. 5 crashes now between March and June 18th. It's especially annoying in June as you do a lot of time wasting into player research , bids etc in between saving. And obviously have to re trace steps each time

Well that didn't go well. Sitting 9th in the prem, as Birmingham, been creating more chances almost every game than opposition.. update game*** First game after update, v Southampton in 19th with the worst goals for record, and lose 6-0 with 18 shots to 4 for me.. 🤔 Is there a roll back option?!

Anyone else find that the preferences don't have an effect? Like for delivery settings and stopping scouting a player yet continuously receiving reports? just slows the game, especially near a transfer window closure, every time I hit continue I get 80 reports, all the same rubbish I've clicked the red x on to not see anymore

The whole scouting system is flawed. My latest gripe is with the delivery settings. None of them work. I'm sick to death of getting the same players reports no matter. What I select! Especially player x has been loan listed. I've turned them off, always click the x on the player card saying I don't wish to be informed, but yeah, it's flawed

It's a joke at the moment. Someone show me a screenshot of a players crossing increasing! I've had half my squad training it almost a season, not one guy up 1 in the attribute

Defensive lines are a real issue I'm finding. I had the same issue with cover, in fact I had all three CB set to close down less and team instruction press less, but they still went all over the shop. Haven't had any luck with the two new team defense options either. I had to give up and move to a four at the back

Initial thoughts Tactically I'm finding it very off.. Defensively setting up and getting players to act accordingly seems way out of whack. Keeper long balls, and central defenders looking at each other or running under the ball so often. Watching a full game the match engine is so far from realistic it's not funny. Building a tactic defensively has gotten so much worse with the new options. Im winning games but it's a backwards step for me tactically. Scouting I still can't work out as yet. Looks another downgrade early on. Still can't believe they ran with no attribute screen on scouting recommendations like last year, huge flaw. Skin will fix I know. So many screens I'm in, I click back and it never goes one screen prior, takes you way back every time. Least amount of change since the championship manager days from game to game. The two parts of the game I most enjoy are creating tactics and finding new players, and the tactics and scouting systems are not very good Rant over

Same issue. I currently have 6 focuses. All no recommendations, even tried just one for a month. It's obviously a bug

One attribute I never seem to be able to improve, or at most is by 1 no matter what save, facilities or schedules I have is crossing. Was the same as FM22... Individual on crossing plus heaps of team schedules with attacking wings, I swear it's the hardest attribute to develop anyone else notice this?

Match engine looks very inconsistent so far after 14 games played in the championship. Defensive lines in mine are all over the shop. Long balls over the top and my CBs have no idea, run underneath or stop. FBs are always the deepest defender for some reason. But even with that crap the game is still too easy. I'm Birmingham, only signed a 35 yo RW , retraining as a shadow striker and false 9, plus Ashby on loan from west ham. I'm 2nd, tinkering with tactic every game trying to get a 1 CB and two FB line up to work, but varying to 3CBs as well due to the horrid defending. Conceded 23 but scored 37 in 14 games. Not much seems to have changed in game. Fair let down

How's it coming along? I'd have thought a DM-D might hold a better position during transitions, HB dropping too deep from the attacking pair in the middle? And if your wanting the width why play an IWB? Try at least a FB-S on that side maybe?

I think the development is much more random this version. I can have a 5 star potential 'Perfectionist' mentality youngster who goes no where in two years, or one very similar that develops rapidly. Some players always develop every save others never do. You do all the right things upgrading coaches, facilities, mentoring and they can still stagnate.

The scouting system needs some work IMO

3 at the back I'd think a DM with defend duty would seem a waste, unless you've got WCB- on attack roles.. it's all relevant to your players and the style you want really. I currently have a flat 4 at the back, 2 DMs, one is a DM-S with get forward paired with a Vol-S and a CM-A in front, playing max width to give the three room, works a treat with my squad. Only recent tactic has be had with a central midfield player on defend was a 442, BWM-D and a CM-A

Has anyone noticed if there is a screen where I can see players stats differentiated by the positions they played in? Like I have two formations in a save at the moment, one has 2 wingers on attack and one has an inverted winger and inside forward... just want to be able to analyse which players done better whilst in each position

Oh dear, 90+4 minute eqauliser.. Falling apart haha! Game can begin to become very cruel at times Even made some adjustments for the last 5 mins in this one to try and prevent this! And then lost the following penalty shootout. At least this one was caused by a good trough ball, Iheanacho then 1v1 against our 18yo keeper..

And it just gets better, Fiorentina, first shot on target in the 93rd minute Another Areola howler, even the commentary said it! Prob is, Fabianski is on the outer after I fined him after our 4-0 loss to Leicester when he had a 5.8.... He became unhappy, then two games later complained about first team football (even though he had more starts than Areola) He requested to leave and has signed a deal with Dynamo happening in Jan And I'm only planning on signing 18 year olds or younger so tough to find a good replacement May have to get stricter with the backline see if we can cancel out these easy goals

Okay, I've done it! Data update, check, new formation check! Little tinkering still to perfect it but already making the game look too easy or just the west ham squad too overrated Settled on a 4213 of sorts... Lots of rotation required due to fixtures. Downes and Coventry improving lots with minutes. Cress/Emerson great average ratings from LB. I had started up top with a CF-S but they weren't contributing much or scoring early, TF-A and both strikers have scored lots Attacking wide men I've tried W-A both sides and also RMD on either side, but I think the IW-A has suited Benrahma, had the most G/A Think W-A will help the TF-A but I'm currently training all the wingers to cut inside both wings so I may keep trying it so that gives them the option of by-line and cross or cut inside still. Obviously it requires them swapping to their natural footed side too.
