  1. So not sure if anyone is still looking but I think I might have a cheap way to buy the game.

CDKeys are offering the game for £29.99.

If you go through Quidco (cashback website) they not only offer 25% cashback - bringing it down to £22.50 - but they're doing an opt in bonus where you get £10 bonus cash back for any spend of £15.

Now this is all if Quidco works - and it's notorious for not working - and of course you have to wait for the cash back to be paid, but I defy anyone to find a better value gaming deal than FM23 for £12.50.

  2. Congrats on the unexpected promotion. You've done well to build a team that seem to fit well with the tactic you've set up with some really underrated players (Sinani is a player I really do rate in the Championship).

I'd be interested to know your pressing instructions. I don't play with a BWM because I don't like how they aggressively close down players to seek to win the ball back. Paired with a volante (again, not a role I use often, but I understand is another role that seeks space higher up the pitch a little like a box to box midfielder) I would be worried that your team tries to get forward a bit too much and leaves lots of room between midfield and defence?

Maybe change your BWM to an anchor? Maybe as well drop the AM to MC to have someone else sitting naturally a bit deeper?

Again, not knowing how much you got to spend over the summer, I think my priority would be the full backs, an anchor and a striker. Make sure you're getting in to the big clubs early and see if you can get some decent loanees in.

    Good luck!

  3. Hi all,

Have started a Rangers save to tie me over til FM23. I'm in early part of S2, having won the league and one of the cups, and got to a respectable quarter final champions league finish last season. Just wondering though - do you guys receive bonkers loan proposals? That's all I ever seem to get. For example, just done deadline day. I got an for Morelos from Everton. Loan. No wages paid. If they play him 20 times they give me £11.25m. Valued in game at 19m-24m. I wouldn't be concerned but this type of offer is all I've ever received.

    Is this normal?

Do we get a day off/bank holiday if/when she dies?

Naturally it’s not good, but it’s what most people care about.

The funeral is considered a "day of national mourning". Not a bank holiday. Although not sure there's much difference.

Looking into getting a new laptop as mine is nearly 8 years old. Mainly use it for FM, general internet use and Microsoft Office.

Budget is under £1k, want something that’ll last for a good number of years like my current one has.

    Minimum requirements are:

    - Eight core processor

    - 16GB RAM

    - SSD 500GB

    - 14 to 16 inch screen

    - HDMI and classic USB (is that 3.0?)

    - Avoid an integrated graphics card, ideally play FM on the highest settings (but maybe things have moved on and that’s now possible on integrated?)

    - Current laptop is fairly heavy so a lighter one would be a bonus

    - DVD/CD drive would be a bonus but very rarely use so could buy a portable drive if necessary

Found these three after filtering for those requirements but wondering if there’s better value for money out there.

If those specs can be improved on without a much bigger budget then even better.

For the budget and specifications, have you considered a Dell G15?

In the Dell Outlet, currently has a 12% off code available, meets all your specifications and with the code comes in at £718.08 - cheaper than your other options. Matches the specs of the Dell Inspiron but is a dedicated gaming laptop and cheaper.

The wording of one-on-one talks have this time frame (immediately, next transfer window, end of season).

Promises made at the beginning of the campaign expire the day of or after the final game of the season. The tweak here would be to have this date should be the end of off-season transfer window, rather than the immediate end of the season.

If you go to your manager profile/home page and click promises, you can see the remaining time on the promise. I believe that you generally get reminders a month out, in the form of a news item from your staff updating you in the status of promises or player agitating that no progress has been made.

Thanks for the reminders, but my suggestion is to go beyond what is available right now.

The suggestion is to allow promises to be made with variable time frames, giving you greater flexibility to ensure they can be met. You might want to offer a new contract after the next transfer window, in case a bid is incoming for that player. You might want to wait until the start, or end of next pre-season to reduce squad numbers as most clubs don't conduct their transfer business until later in the window. You might want to say to a youth team player they can go out on loan, not the next window but the window after.

I know a lot of players avoid promises altogether. I think bringing flexibility to them might encourage more widespread usage again.

  7. Hello,

A feature I'd like to see in FM22 would be a time frame for promises.

My case in point is that against all odds, my Ipswich side has just achieved promotion by winning the league. In the end of season team meeting, I tell the squad I will be reducing the squad size (I wanted to shift players not good enough for the Premier League). Two of my players take this as a formal promise, including my star midfielder.

I think no more of it, but before the play off final has even been played they both come to me unhappy I haven't kept my promise.

Being able to tell my players I'll reduce the squad size before the start of next season, or will give them a contract before the end of next season, or I'll improve the staff by January - I think would be a real help in making promises a more realistic feature.

    Thanks for considering.

lookıng for a long term challenge ıpswıch seems a nıce team. What tactic u use?any advice?

I can definitely recommend you don't sign Joe Geldhardt from Leeds. I've never seen a striker miss so many easy chances, only to bury impossible ones in my years of playing football management games. Seriously the man is responsible for many wear words in my house in the last 3 weeks.

More positively, I've been playing 4-3-3. Worked well. Kayden Jackson does well from the left, cutting in. Andre Dozzell is an assists machine. Luke Woolfenden is superb too. Definitely the spine to build around. As has been said, a new keeper is a good shout. I signed Luke Steele on a free only for him to get a 6 month injury and retire. Holy has been ... adequate.

  10. Good morning ladies and gents.

I'm firmly into January in my Norwich save. I'm having all sorts of problems with central defenders doing some very strange things, but otherwise it's going good.

My biggest issue is scoring goals. I drew 1-1 with Bristol City just now. 30 shots. 18 on target. Can't buy a goal. Teemu Pukki is off to Dubai for £7.5m as a result, I'm shipping Adam Idah out on loan because after that performance he has the temerity to demand a new deal and Jordan Hugill is solid if not spectacular. So if you fine people have any striker suggestions, I'm very much all ears.

I also think it's weird that Norwich have sold £50m of talent in game and are still failing FFP. Definitely not like that in real life.

I graduated from law school, mate. It's not about whether the product is finished or not. It's about whether people relied on a false advertisement to buy the game. Yes, not worth the hassle - but the principle is there.

In which country did you graduate? If it's UK, I'd recommend going back and looking at the difference between contractual offers and contractual invitations to treat.
