Not the same issue so it might be wise making a seperate post (if you haven't done already), it'll also most likely be looked at and be told from an SI staff member they've seen it, if you did a seperate post, given our current issue from the thread is under review.

Temporary work around would be to look at "in progress" tab and manually scout them, effort I know but it seems to do more good than the current one. Scouting is defintely not working as intended, In the demo, I had several players in the broader and specific criterias and now im barely getting 1 or 2, pretty much unplayable for a top end team until this is fixed.

I think there are issues with scouting, im in a Manchester United save and tried to do 2* ability and 2*potential per big nation and main leagues. That in itself should bring in players from the prem and other areas but rarely got one in either pile of recommend, near matches or in progress. Having to tiptoe around it shouldn't be a thing. Also most of them aren't even going out to scout either and they haven't even got other jobs to do, very strange this year compared to last and the years before them.

Its game breaking and its making me not want to play it. Past FM's within first few weeks, most of the prem players have reports, this one, barely 1 or 2 per team, might have to manually scout teams to see if players are good. Sympathies with anyone using attribute masking and having to put more effort in. He's a good player, can't wait to see how he turns out in the latter years, if they fix scouting that is...

Started a save couple weeks back, pre season looked a mess, we were strong going forward but my god our defense was shocking. Few wins, couple draws, 1 or 2 losses against bigger teams which wasnt filling me with confidence. Decided a 433 would be much more useful as I could never get them working in previous versions and with the game engine improvements, thought why not give it a shot. Outs: Antony £130m *some saudi or qatari team*, Malacia on loan, AWB £40m to spurs, bunch of u21's loaned. Ins: Andre £25m, Aaron hickney £50m, Valentin barco £8m, Free backup striker (forgot his name but old and a target man), Brahim Diaz on loan from madrid (Couldn't get inaki, bid 45m, got rejected, signed a new deal after and was never told till I checked his contract and his release clause was now 85m RIP) I think scouting is bugged, only getting 1 or 2 players with 2* ability and potential as the criteria, usually they rack up players fairly quick with low criterias but this time getting 1 or 2 in like a month is broken. 2 or 3 scouts sent per big nation, even did top priority for certain positions and best I got for 3 positions was 3 players which seems very wrong. So had to go by my own scouting knowledge, getting Andre was worth it for the long run, hackney training to be right back and taking up that spot aswell as having home grown status is clutch. Same with Barco at the opposite end, but I feel like he should be playing LW instead of LB, gonna need to tweak tactics- Played really well at LW in pre season during the time first team players were on holiday. Anyone else noticed scouting is pretty wack atm? Seen a few posts in bug section but nothing has been mentioned in terms of fixing it.

Late updaate: My issue was resolved with the epic update and works as normal now. Not updating steam or epic may prevent the editor working if it was a similar issue to mine.

This still an issue for you lot? bought the game for xmas and noticed it after my second time jumping onto the game. Very strange so i'll bump this up @Zachary Whyte thought i'd tag you just incase this hasn't been seen.

I always set up individual training at the very start of the game, leave it for a month and check the progress, unless they come to me and say individual training isnt working, I leave it until its good enough. 8/10 it works but just manually change it to ass man or whoever when you cba with it. On the squad screen, highlight the squad or the players you want (usually has a tick to the left side and highlights the player), right click and pick rest, it usually says how many players in brackets.

IMO you have shaw and rashford going completely ham down that left side leaving you so open. With martinez not playing a covering role I assume your left side is being overan. Put shaw as a WB support or FB support. IWB is pushing into midfield so maybe on transition your wide play is far too exposed, maybe either try putting dalot on Inverted fullback and leave shaw to bomb it down with a support role not attack or play him as a normal IWB but pull shaw back with FB. Shaw or Rashy need to be a supporting role otherwise they're just so far gone forward it's leaving for a huge counter. Also i'd say some teams you're gifting them too much time in their defensive third so they get a hold of games, try pushing the LOE a bit higher against lower teams, not neccessarily big teams if you're countering,

Wonder if it works if you offer them out to those clubs constantly and they pay over the odds for all the deadwood

It certainly seems so atm, im seeing fluid football and animations that make it as close to fm17 as possible which was my "best fm". Demo only goes to jan but really wish you had 1 season to complete and the option to turn attribute masking off but I agree. Tough challenge and one that needs sorting pretty quick, may go back to the good ol' 4231 if 433 doesn't do me justice.

Evenin gents, decided i'll be back for this one given the ME changes and it looking very promising. Will get it during the sale though as im currently still testing the waters on the demo: First thing first, WTH is that transfer budget?? 6m yikes. Trying to sell deadwood when you get agent offers and solid replacements for above 40m+ is worrying, for anyone disabling the first window, I have no idea how you could do anything with this squad, feels so bare bones and only 2 midfielders can actually tackle... Had a few games, 433 traditional, still pre season so nothing really works yet nor the fimiliarity is good enough BUT it doesn't fill me with confidence playing high tempo and direct in this system. Nor does high pressing with a high line work well, dont think we have the players, noticed once the ball moves into the wide areas, midfield just gets bypassed, not sure weather to stick em to playing the outside or move them through the middle where the 3 man midfield can haggle at them? Will play more tomorrow and give an update, but with it being the demo, just testing the waters seeing how I feel since i've been out of the game for 3 years. One major downfall ive noticed among the many good small updates is scouting a competition is tough to find the right scout, used to be so much easier, now you have to scroll through our many and find the right one that covers that area, some even cover over 7 so you have to scroll constantly, eurgh.
