Why on earth have you opted to use the tight marking TI in a tactical style and system that is totally unsuited to such manner of defending ???

Could you elaborate on why the use of tighter marking in that style and setup is so unsuited? I understand it looks odd for tiki taka but is there something more to it, like formation is not really suitable? I'm sorry if this question is stupid but I personally really like tighter marking instruction because its relatively easy to improve your defenders in marking and positioning in comparison to for example tackling. I usually don't consider it in context of whole system though, just if my defenders can pull it off I tend to switch it on.

Like Lord Rowell mentioned this is subjective, and it will be different for different kinds of sides. Personally when sides close me down, I just changes one or two roles within my system and bypass their press and get behind them to score. So it really depends on your style of play. Do you want to play yourself out of trouble or do you want to hit them quickly and force them to retreat. Remember they can also counterpress you if they are better. So you could defend well win the ball with a defender, try to play your way out and then get hit by the counter press and then concede. The choice you make depends on your formation and players.

What would be the typical roles changes that you make to bypass heavy press? I donno maybe this question is too generic because it depends on formation, instructions and the players but are there some general rules for that or roles that help? I usually make my formation narrower when I have problems with keeping the ball but thats not a lot.

    Thanks. Cheers.

And i know that, which is why most of my signings are from Portugal and South America. The part i was referring to was this "He believes he's good enough to play for Spain" which isn't possible, since he already played for Venezuela. I expected maybe something along the lines "He took citizenship to help club with foreign rules limits" or something.

Ah sorry I get it now! I didnt notice that part!

He already played for Venezuela twice so i don't quite understand this. But still, one free space for non EU players.

All the Ibero-Americans can get 2nd Spanish citizenship after 2 years. The sole reason for it is usually what you just mentioned, registration rules. This way you can plan your conveyor belt of upcoming South American regens! KUTGW!

  5. It d be great to add a small feature that would allow you to tell your assistant coach to start certain youth team player in the first squad on certain position.

I have a situation in one of my saves where one of the most talented youth team players gets very little playing time because I assume his CA is lower than some other less perspective players and his current preferred positions don't fit the tactic. It d be nice to have a simple feature allowing you to tell your assistant to play that guy. It d help him develop faster and also get familiar with new position quicker without the need of running the youth team yourself.

  6. Thats amazing. What would you say is the key to your success? Is it the ability to find amazing young players and develop them or maybe tactics and ability to react or maybe what kind of players you fit? Or maybe sth else? Or maybe with so many seasons AI cant keep up anymore with squad building?

  7. I have a problem with my online save and would very much want someone to help me. Me and my friend play online in Swiss league. We use saturday and wednesday matches only. My u21 team has no fixtures but no big deal I arrange friendlies every week. Unfortunately only saturday and wednesday options are available and it turns out every time forst and second team plays on wednesday all my players, even those made available for u21 are not in squad for u21 matches. This makes managing the team much more difficult. Any idea how to solve that?

There is a hidden attribute called Jadeness give him some time off, tell him you will do so, maybe just a couple week vacation. Use some of your training time for team bonding and stuff, but mostly don't play the same players too often. What is too often? The game doesn't tell you of in big red letters, you have to look at their info.

Thank you for your help. At the beginning of next season he was mostly playing off the bench but slowly his performance picked up. I guess he was just jaded from the World Cup and I should have reacted faster but I rotate quite a bit so I thought it d be fine.

  9. Dear FM community. Recently i ve experienced my most sudden drop of performance of a player in all my years of playing FM. My striker, Moise Kean went to world cup in 2022 being my top player and after he came back the second half pf the season was a disaster. He scored only 1 goal and had 2 assists and total rsting of 6,45 or something like that (he was still just below 7 for the whole season which speaks how huge the trop was). I manage Celta Vigo for the 3rd season and ended up on 4th place. I didnt change my tactic neither did I notice other teams playing much more defensively against me. Kean is only 22 he didnt have any injury or my physios didnt say he was jaded. I rotate quite a lot so I assume he wasnt very tired overall. His stats dropped a little only at the end of the season. I have never seen such prolonged drop of performance from a player and my question to you is is it something you experience more often than before in fm 19?

Looking back I should have benched him earlier but I tend to stkck to undeprefrorming players for quite some time cause usuallh they regain form. Oh and also Kean is descrived as consistent performer in the scouting report and from mh own exoerience those players usually outperform their visible attributes. At least after all my critique of him his determination grew by 2.
