  1. SEASON 2029/30 THE STATS Transfers In Out Admiral Bundesliga Results #1 #2 Bundesliga Table #1 #2 Uniqa ÖFB Cup results #1 #2 European results #1 #2 Player Stats Youth Intake Finances SUMMARY We lost 3 important players before the season: Holm, Klarer and Zanotti - so we had to become more active on the transfer market and in came Krystian Dishkov, a great Bulgarian center back talent, promising Left Back Aung Aung from Frankfurt (but he was loaned back to them for the 1st part of the season), young Greek international central midfielder Michalis Oikonomikos, striker Alexander Michalski from RBL (we made his loan permanent after his great season for us) and winter transfer window signing Mohammed Khalid, a central playmaker. With these players it was possible to repeat the Domestic Double from last year, but in Europe we again did not shine and went out even a round earlier than last season. I´m aiming to make Salzburg a bit more "Austrian" by signing talented young domestic players in the future.
  2. SEASON 2028/29 THE STATS Admiral Bundesliga Results #1 #2 Bundesliga Table Uniqa ÖFB Cup results #1 #2 European results #1 #2 Player Stats Youth Intake Finances Winter Transfers Sforza Christensen Departures SUMMARY What a successful first season for a change, in contrast to my struggles in Switzerland. Salzburg are WAY ahead of the other teams in Austria and I have to admit I am loving it We lost only ONE game domestically, both in League and Cup and also won the Cup rather effortlessly. And our striker Holm was voted the Player Of The Year award. Our tactical approach seemed to entertain our fans too. In Europe though, it was a different story. We just about made the cut the knockout rounds, defeated a weak Napoli side and then fell at the next hurdle to giants Real Madrid. Our new attacker Openda scored 32 goals, what more could you want from a striker? Our replacement for Gloukh did not have a great season though, I guess he needs more time to adapt. Winter signing Sforza did a way better job in that role. Midfield engine Krastev or Holm - one of them has to be our player of the year.
  3. August 2028 Part III Season Preview & Expectations Now thats some difference to my life in Switzerland Ok, there is some slight difference here as well The board are confident. Stray Observation Enter my Successor at Lausanne-Ouchy. Could have been way worse. Good luck to him! The News From now on, I decided to resort to seasonal updates, not monthly anymore.
  4. August 2028 Part II Transfers We made quite some money with our sales albeit it could have been WAY more if I had negotiated a better deal for the sale of Gloukh. Pikhalyonok was signed before my time but he is a good player. A new goalkeeper was needed after the departure of Mantl and in came Serbian national team keeper Vejovic for a reasonable price from Porto. USA keeper Turner came in only as backup. Striker Openda was transfer listed and we snapped him up, as was versatile defender Solomon Bonnah. Milanese was signed to have more options in central midfield, but isn´t expected to play many games. Same goes for the young talented central midfielders Essl & Darvich which we loaned from our parent club RB Leipzig just because we could. Soren Dieterich is a great Austrian playmaker talent but will be loaned back to his original club for this season. The Squad 2028/29 I think we made some good transfers to increase the quality of the team after the departure of the former key player. Lots of potential for sure. The Tactics No wingers this time.
  5. August 2028 Part I Welcome to Austria! Now finally there was the chance to employ a new tactic for a my new team before the season started. As our Advanced Playmaker Oscar Gloukh was our best player, I wanted a tactic that was centered around him and we ended up with this one, inspired by one I saw on the official FM website! We even sold all our wingers because they did no fit into the new formation. So we played our pre-season games and the first matches of the new season started and suddenly Gloukh and his agent wanted to talk to me about moving to a bigger club. Turns out I could not convince him (or rather them) to stay and so he left for Newcastle for what I think was a minor sum (35M) but what can you do when he wants to leave? So there we were with a tactic that was taylor-made for the player who just left us. What could we do? We needed to find a similar player in that position and after lots of scouting and failed contract offers for other players who wanted way too much salary we finally found the Belgian Playmaker Yari Verschaeren and signed him for around 30M. So we really hope he can live up to our expectations. No pressure
  6. Thank you Tactically, there will be a dramatical change, I can assure you!
  7. No worries The most important thing is the save -if the application is successful- might be going into a new direction, so thats exciting to look forward to!
  8. Ooops sorry I thought this was a new career story going by the innovative name...
  9. Let´s wait and see how the application turns out... (I have made my peace with the inevitable evils of football nowadays and decided to accept that it is what it is instead of ruining my health by ranting about it which doesnt change a thing anyway...)
  10. Thanks mate It definitely IS an interesting offer... hopefully they decide to hire Joe Baxter
  11. July 2028 The Shock I pondered quite long but in the end decided to attend because I think I have brought Lausanne-Ouchy quite far but somehow I feel we have hit a brick wall and can´t get much further. The FC Salzburg job is very tempting. And now we wait.
  12. June 2028 The Season Stats This shows pretty much why we ended up where we ended up. Our keeper and our 5 strikers have an AVR of 7 or more. And ONLY them. But I don´t complain. The new signings fit in well, although we will not extend Draxlers contract. Miles Berry continues his fantastic development with 44 goals this season! I wonder when / if he will get a call-up from the Switzerland national team? The Finances Good money to spend next season.
  13. Exactly this is what happens often enough. We score a lot but then again we concede a lot. It is fun though Nice to have you here
  14. May 2028 It was all or nothing this month. The Matches A bitter defeat for us. Only our young striker was in form. A decent performance against a strong Spanish side. A surprise win for us! It was clear we did not have a big chance. Respect to the lads for a great European run! An expected defeat against the Champions. We woke up after the break and won the game. Again, we take our time to secure the win. No sensation in the final. We deservedly lose the game. 3rd place is a new record finish for us!
  15. 2 away and 3 home games against the fellow top 6 teams
  16. Perfect month, congratulations! I am pretty sure you will be able to find cheaper alternatives to Colville, I am not too convinced by his attributes for this level but he surely is young and can still improve!
  17. Yeah thats what I ended up with in many career updates here. Sometimes its just too much to go into detail and then you resort to those seasonal updates (which I think is totally fine , hope to read more here from you soon )
  18. Oh yes, it is Thanks mate, we will try our best but our chances are not good
  19. April 2028 Our form improved. The Matches A tough game, we shared the points in the end. Our Academy Products won this game for us. When in Europe, we never fail to score. A great 1st leg result for us. The Derby was won by us again in style. We survived the early scare to reclaim control and in the end managed to go through to the semi final against Valencia! Super Sub Berdayes came on and decided the game. We will meet Young Boys in the final. That is the table before the split. The Youth Intake Not a good intake this time. We signed them anyway. The News So it was nothing but talk. As expected.
  20. March 2028 We progress further in Europe. The Matches This was harder than expected. We had to fight very hard to win this. Another stupid red card resulted in another stupid defeat. The early lead eased the pressure but it was still a hard fight again. We will meet AA Gent in the next round again. Hopefully we can beat them as comfortably again as last time. We steamrolled them. A convincing performance. They were the better team. Edmondson scored a brace again as we overpowered Servette. Glad we got a game in hand.
  21. February 2028 A packed month again. And it showed. The Matches A great win against the leage leaders! Berry made the difference. Football, bloody Hell! A Derby Goal Bonanza which almost turned into a tragedy! We were up 5-0 at half time including a Berry Hattick and I decided to take it slow and bring on some benchers. And then they scored goal after goal and we could be happy that they did not score more goals in the remaining 20 minutes. (Might have been because I decided to go defensive and play on counter finally...) Another stoppage time goal saved us a point. Goals Galore again, this time in the Swiss Cup. in the end we win after penalties and will meet Winterthur in the semi final. Quick revenge as they beat us in the following league game. Lots of injuries weakened our team and it shows. Miles Berry saves us again with another Hattrick. A stupid red card led to an unnecessary defeat. A good win concludes this month. We lost a bit of ground. The News It is slow progress, but it is progress.
  22. January 2028 Only 2 friendlies during the break. The News Let´s wait and see.
  23. December 2027 Winter Goal Fests. The Matches Another almost perfect game when nearly every shot was a goal. But they also gave us the space to do it. Zurich was really unlucky. But we didn´t care. The Scots fought back and deserved the draw. Great entertainment for the fans and in the end we won. A pity we couldn´t end the year with a win. Nevertheless we qualified for the knockout rounds. A top 4 finish looks likely again.
  24. November 2027 Great performances in Europe. The Matches 2 braces by our strikers in an easy away win. Sion are not as strong as last season... ...but Basel are. Our first half lead by 2 goals did not impress them much. Edmondson seems to enjoy Cup games. Yawn! Our fans were not impressed and booed us after the game. At least there is already a big gap to 6th position.
