    Hey,

    I tried a few skins for this year's edition and so far I've settled for this one here, but I just have a quick question: how can I get the color-coded "Last 5 games" colum on Team Views or / and Player Panels ? I noticed some other skins display different colors for bad / average / good ratings and I'd like to use that feature with this skin aswell.

    This is what I mean:

    WvsmTAL.jpg

    Do I need to add a panel / file from one of these other skins or edit a particular file ?

    I've been searching this for the past hour (including going through different .xml files on one of the skins which offer this feature) without any success. Thanks in advance !

    In your settings folder and within your settings.xml (name may vary depending on skin but invariably settings is mentioned somewhere)

    Look for (or add if not present):

    <!-- (additional) stats colours. used on scout, confidence bars -->
    	<colour name="low stat" red="180" green="160" blue="255" />
    	<colour name="medium stat" red="147" green="117" blue="255" />
    	<colour name="good stat" red="120" green="79" blue="255" />
    	<colour name="excellent stat" red="120" green="0" blue="255" />

    That's mine (it's a purplely blue) change the colour values to your preference.

    If you aren't familiar with rgb colour values, give it a quick google first so you can see how it works (2 minute job, not complicated).

    Clear cache, reload skin - some settings changes require a restart too so bear that in mind.

    P.S. no need to ask twice.

    Thanks for putting it in spoilers - it doesn't mean that much to me tbh, but I don't want it spoiled for everyone else.

    Ah right, yeah I'll definitely boot up a quick start save and have a flick through at some point this week and add it to the OP. I didn't realise Bailly had played as many games as he had until I consulted Wikipedia, I can't recall noticing him. Maybe Ole's powers will bring him back up to his FM17/18 level, but if not yeah I can't really argue with the changes that have been mentioned, except perhaps that if Shaw doesn't have room for improvement in game now, he perhaps does in real life (but he's not going to suddenly not be completely one-footed now, its definitely right that it seems impossible to train that out of him).

    I've had debates about Shaw before. IMO he's done ok. I personally think there's plenty of room for improvement but I get the support. He's a young Englishman, had problems with injury and managers, everyone is rooting for him. Does that mean sometimes people go over the top? For me yes but that also works for the negative feedback too.

    But I agree, I actually amended his PA on my personal db.

    “OP” = Original Post / Opening Post.

    Ok I might have a look at it again then. Weirdly I didn’t notice any real change in Sánchez except the Dribbling, might have look closer.

    Surprised Bailly got a drop - he seems like an African Phil Jones, always injured but when he plays can be anything from a world beater to an absolute calamity. Jones has been rated quite well for years.

    I'd have to cross reference Sanchez before and after to see exactly what the CA drop has effected. I'm pretty sure quickness has been though, as it should, whilst some other physicals taking a hit wouldn't surprise me either. He deserves it tbh.

    This may or may not be news to you or anyone but a little info I learnt re. CA, that might be useful to someone...

    Spoiler

    Physicals impact CA considerably more than other attributes. So if someone is taking a hit there it could be the predominant factor in a decrease of CA. So you might not need to see much change elsewhere.

    For example a drop of one in acceleration will translate into a loss of more CA points than a drop of one in finishing.

    I might as well mention the scale of Sanchez's CA drop...

    Spoiler

    165 -> 157 FYI

    Bailly's was inevitable with his form, he's been over-rated for a while IMO. His rating is much closer to Jones' though so it's actually more in line with your comparison now.

    I've just had a quick boot up of a new United save to see what changes have been made. I can't be bothered comparing everyone - I noticed Lukaku's had his First Touch downgraded to 10 (seems harsh) and Sanchez had his Dribbling knocked down to 15. Is anyone aware of any more significant changes that I'd need to reflect in the OP? (I'm thinking of just adding an extra spoiler with any changes made in this update, rather than re-doing everyone)

    I've not gone through each player attribute-wise nor am I sure any of this is significant enough to warrant a mention on your OP but..

    Bailly & Lindelof's CAs have gone in different directions at exactly the same rate. Arguably Bailly is still over-rated though. Lindelof has a little breathing space now as the justified #1 CB. It's still very tight though amongst the rest.

    Rashford & Dalot got a decent rise.

    Valencia, Fosu-Mensah & McTominay a decent drop.

    Biggest mover in terms of CA is Sanchez getting a significant drop - I went even further on my personal db tbh.

    That's about it. Mata is still probably too highly rated IMO whilst I'm glad the majority of the Utd fanbase aren't in control of Lukaku's rating :D just a small drop there, same with Fred.

    Not bad tbf.

    the Football Manager 2019 Resource Archiver is with the black screen after the last update. With someone else?

    There's no need to keep asking the same question more than once.

    Yes there's a problem with it (but I'm not going to bother testing it more myself as I have all the files I need/finished skinning mostly).

    Try deleting it and reinstalling. If the problem persists, go to the bugs forum and create a thread so the developers are aware. That's the best place. I doubt they even look in this forum.

    I'm playing the 19.3 for a few Hours now. The ME is improved ,i like it. But what really gets me in the mood to hammer my head on the desk over and over again are the WIDE SHOTS and Free Kick goals . Seriously ? U can watch lower league matches and they hammer 30 meter shots in the net like they got skills like c ronaldo or messi . Then u check their atributes and u realize .. oh no .. finishing 6 , wide shots max 10 .

    This is FOR ME the only thing , besides the thousands of blocked crosses that needs to be fixed. If this wont be fixed .. i dont see myself playing this game for any longer.  We all know the "u got fmed" thing ... But it seriously makes no sense (not even talking about realism)  that low league players scoring like world class players. I would really like to get an answer from someone .. maybe @Neil Brock ? Someone please .

    Another thing is that i played 10 league matches with HSV now .. and ive got in every match at least 1 woodwork . often both team one or more. But i can live with it if the big issues (wide shots , free kick accuracy) will be fixed .

    Thanks

    The quality of some of the goals in the lower leagues, especially English is insane. There's plenty of goals that belong in far higher reaches of the game. I think it'd take a lot of people by surprise, maybe understandably.

    The big difference is the consistency and ability to repeat said goals at the same rate as professionals or elite stars.

    If it's the same players, repeating these heroics then I'd say maybe your criticisms are fair... If it's one off wonder strikes, that's not beyond the realms of reality at all.

    Phelan was reported above - it's easy to sort in the pre-game editor though or if you prefer download the constantly updated DB at sortitoutsi.net.

    You did better than City this season, out of 74 goals scored this season only 2% of those assists came from a through ball.

    https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/2/Seasons/7361/Stages/16368/TeamStatistics/England-Premier-League-2018-2019

    Chelsea have been outstanding with 20% of all assists being through ball, i think theirs is the best in Europe at the moment.

    Chelsea last night reminded me of Arsenal teams of old in slow motion, always looking for that final eye-of-the-needle pass. In order to pull it off the ball needed to be absolutely inch perfect, the forward run on the same wave-length or timed to perfection. Add into the equation that Utd were absolutely immense in defence as well as being allowed to get back into shape due to a lack of tempo. Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw and particularly Herrera had fantastic games, defensively.

    For me though it showed it is such a difficult style of play to pull off, especially against competent, let alone top teams but even beyond all that, how demanding it must be, week in, week out, mentally to keep preserving with such low percentage football.

    Now there might be some credence to the argument of seeing more attempts of this kind of play within FM (although I can't remember many teams in England attempting to play like Chelsea are trying) but the perceived effectiveness of this style of play on this forum seems a bit skewed. It's so difficult to pull off and like in real-life you're going to need great technicians and the complimentary mentals to just give yourself a fighting chance.

    I'm exhausted just thinking of what's necessary, let alone putting it into action.

    The AM/striker movement is a slightly different subject and I concede could do with some improvements. 'Through balls' though - it's an over romanticised notion imo.

    Lingard is similar, minus Positioning (if you praise him I’m training his Work Rate will get up to 20 in no time). I think Park would initially be an AMC too.

    Park was a defensive freak.  Great defensive mentals. He'd make a great full-back in FM and he'd probably be converted into one in today's game too.

    Yeah I did wonder if Lingard would be mentioned. He looks the stand-out option (with Laimer). Sacrificing positioning seems reasonable tbf especially for a bit of pace, everything else is ok.

    Thanks

  10. Who's the closest thing to Park Ji-Sung these days? Natural position doesn't really matter as retraining is always an option.

    Pic from older version on the net looks about right, w/rate, stamina & n/fitness are the main ones, 18+ preferably. Determination can be worked on for younger options. Off the ball is desirable but maybe unrealistic. Technicals really are last priority.

    Just interested in some ideas/experience. Tentative searches have brought up little tbh. I like the idea of a 'European football specialist'.

  11. I'm binning one of my match titlebars because I'm not happy with it. It's probably the one I've spent the most time on though so just wondering if anyone else wants it so it's not a complete waste of time? I'll upload it within a mod. if anyone wants it. Contained will be the relevant panels, graphics & fonts.

    NB: I have had to remove the match slider for this mod. There's no space on the tb. I've moved the slider to the bottom in my skin but to incorporate here would effect the compatibility of this mod. (I can advise anyone wanting to add the slider later if you like & provide my match footer panel if they want that too but you're going to need some rudimentary skinning knowledge to follow my guidance to fully implement this).

    Anyway here's the screen-shots below of the tb as it is, in the base skin & TCS.

    I tried converting the background selector into a mtb one and it seems stable, so that could be another option if you keep having crashes. I had another couple ideas for mtbs so was thinking of doing it anyway as it gives scope to add as many as you like and I had ran out of space using a variation of this mod. It'd be better if you do carry your skin over like we discussed you could almost create an inventory of tbs. It'd be a while until you'd potentially need to delete any.

    In it's early stages atm but it's functioning.

    thought my scoreboards would be the issue but I extracted the downloaded file to a base skin and it went down first time. Do that and go back through old fixtures or whatever and you might get some

    I've been navigating all over the place whilst skinning the match screens. I've been frequently leaving them to check other things that pop into my head, Can't say I remember one unexpected crash because of the selectors on my own skin.

    Where possible I do tend to update files though, i.e. the global panels. I'd just add the line of code to fm19's version rather than copying the whole panel across from a mod.

    getting crash dumps using this,  anyone else?

    Andromeda did go down first time, was ok the second and Flut was  fine too. Just tested it for above purposes didn't even play full games though.

    I'm using last years as my template, although the scoreboards/titlebars themselves are my own - no problems at all there.

    How to adjust the position?

    Did you try the guidance you quoted above your question? Increasing the match header space would be the most simple solution and under normal circumstances those buttons are outside of that space so it will achieve what you want. Although I don't know what you've done or what skin you're using tbh.

    Jovovich's mod. contains those buttons to the right I suspect on purpose to avoid this very issue.

    The below screenshot is Jovovich's mod in Andromeda with no other amendments. It's clearly different to what you're showing and only possibly needs the background removing (as already mentioned at length). So I really don't know why you've made this so complicated/what you're using at this point.

    I'm guessing the clock/scoreboard height is the problem now...

    Make the height value larger in the Header.xml (generic folder - panels)

    <!-- match titlebar -->
            <widget class="match_titlebar_panel" id="MHdr" height="90" />

    Cheers. What happened for me when I copied everything over was that the Premier League scoreboard showed up (though it did have the solid background), however I wasn't able to select any other ones as the button to the left of the scoreboard was there but did nothing.

    Sounds to me you might have missed something. If you haven't made changes to your copy of Flut, nothing is stopping you from retrying. I literally just extracted Jovovich's file into Flut and it's worked. You need the graphics folder, fonts folder and the panels folder (make sure you have the global panels.xml within panels).

    FYI the workings.xml & scoreboard.xml (both in scoreboard_selector folder) along with the global panels are the 3 key panels when it comes to functionality.

    Man, I'd love to use this mod with the FLUT skin but I'm not very good with skinning code either :(

    Same advice as above, see my post. There's no need to touch the coding. This thread is being blown a little out of proportion. Jovovich has just packaged it with the base skin as opposed to being an add-on.

    All you might need to do is sort the background graphic. 2 people have mentioned this slight 'conflict' above . Again this has been discussed above - replacing the 'offending' graphic with a transparent one will likely suffice.

  19. Is the question, 'you want to replace Andromeda's match titlebar with Jovovich's selectors?' If the answer is yes...

    ...just copy the files over from Jovovich's mod. above, contained within a copy of the base skin, into the skin of your choice and over-write any files when prompted. You should clearly be able to see what's been added as the base skin itself is just a skeleton for you to make additions to but for clarity there's graphics, panels and fonts folders that need to be moved across for this mod.

    See where that leaves you, I'm not completely familiar with Andromeda but I can't imagine there will be too many problems as even if Andromeda's titlebar graphics remain you'll be over-writing the match titlebar.xml coding so they will just remain dormant.

    The only potential issue may be the background issue again that 'master' screen-shotted above - that will involve one of the paper graphics in the interface folder, in the custom folder, of boxes, within graphics if I was going to make an educated guess. Emphasis on potential though, it might be ok and copy over cleanly.

    If that isn't the question you're going to need to make yourself clearer.

    PA spoilers in this tag, if I understand you right

      Reveal hidden contents

    from the list I occasionally consult, he's the closest. Has Donnarumma 170+, Lafont 160-9. That's what you're talking about, right?

    Yeah. Big spoilers ahead.

    Spoiler

    Donnarumma's default PA is 160-190.

    Lafont's is 150-180.

    So worst case scenario for Lafont but nonetheless feasible, there could be a massive '40 pt' swing to Donnarumma. But there could even be a notable '20 pt' swing to Lafont. Or anything in between.

    So it depends a lot on the DB. (P.S. Lafont with a worst-case PA of 150 is also less than Dean Henderson)

    190 is really elite level, there's barely a handful of players with that type of potential PA. These players deserve an extra level of consideration IMO although I can appreciate the financial aspects and these arguments which I don't necessarily disagree with.

    Scout reports and gaining as much info. as possible is the way to go though regardless for such a potentially big decision. I'd want to know what several of the top scouts think in terms of the potentials of several top goal-keeping prospects, in particular.
