I've not been on the forum in a while. Has it been picked up that young players are still not developing well and squad building is still poor? These were both reported as improvements but in 2028 I still see the same problems as FM23. Most international squads have no regens and the squad are 27+ in age.
I would say young players are developing in my save. Had a player with 85 CA at the start of my first season and he's now over 110 CA 2nd seasons.

Signed a player on deadline day in my second season. A day later I get news he's unhappy with his playing time.

It's the frequency in which it happens.
Plus I've never seen a team come back from 3 down with only 26% possession.
The issue is that the opposition AI shoot and score from wherever they like. They didn't even have a clear cut chance
My team have been winning 2-0 this season a few times before ending up drawing the game!.

Has the AI making subs issue been fixed?

If that's the case it's great timing for me - I'm just finishing up a season. Always better if an update hits between seasons as you've got pre-season to see if the changes have messed with your tactic.
Same here. Just finished my first season. Looking forward to using the patch on my 2nd season.

Oh I didn’t mean you sign him, I mean the AI clubs sign them
Ah. I'll check on my save.

Random question, has anyone seen retired players being hired as managers or staff by clubs in FM24?
This used to be a common occurrence in past FMs in my experience, but I haven’t seen it much this year. Granted, I’m three seasons in, so not too far yet but I’m sure I’ve seen retired players land jobs after that timeframe before (especially those that retire after the first season)
So yeah…has anyone seen stuff like that in FM24 yet?
I had a player retire at the end of my first season and signed him as a staff member.

Don't know if anyone else has this issue. I have majority of my players in my squad in the playing time happiness tab stuck at concerned when players have player nearly every single game.

Been saying it for years - mentality should be renamed risk. I haven't thought about mentalities as anything other than risk for ages
Agreed.

The game has issues yes, but it's still an enjoyable play. I'm West Ham and have made it to November in the first season, currently 7th in the Prem and I haven't seen the huge scorelines other players are reporting. Goals look balanced across the league, I've won 3-0 a couple of times and my biggest defeat has been 0-1 as I've got a fairly defensively secure tactic.
In my last game I drew 1-1 with Villa away. I conceded a sloppy goal to go 0-1 down but they were largely on top through the first half. A slight tactical tweak at half time and I gained the initiative, Villa actually made 4 subs from 3 opportunities before the 75th minute and then their keeper got injured, outfield player John McGinn went in goal and I scored with my first shot against him. It just goes to show that the AI can get FM'd as well as I'm sure many on here would be screaming that the game was scripted if that happened to them!
As I said, there are issues with the game but it's far from broken.
I'm really enjoying the match engine this year. Best it's been for a long time. Like you said I haven't seen high scoring games. My youth players are developing.
It's the player interaction and AI not making any subs is the most annoying bug.

it happens every time I'm 2-0 or 2-1 up playing away from home I concede in the last 5 mins so frustrating and it says stats show you are in control and having shots on target
Try this Chris.
At 80 mins, reduce tempo and passing directness, increase time wasting (max it at 85 mins), be more disciplined, play for set pieces, reduce width to be more compact, play out of def, remove all other stuff on In Possession screen especially pass into spaceand early crosses. Then slow pace down (GK), play lower bloc and stay on feet.
It has stopped me conceding goals especially in the last 10 minutes of games.

Match engine for me is the best it’s been for a long time.
Most issues I have are the player interaction which is worse thrown before and AI not making any subs.

Match engine for me is perfect.
The issues i have are player interaction and AI not using subs.

I think the wider public are starting to cotton on. Reviews from 95% to 90% down to 85% positive now on steam
Where can you see the 85% positive reviews on steam?

After final internal checks, we are happy to say that all issues in the bug fixing section are save-game compatible, meaning the fixes will be applied to your existing save games, allowing you to continue your career.
We have now amended the update blog to reflect this.Great to hear!

Yes, would like clarification on this as well.
Don’t want to start a new save if I don’t have too.

The predictability of being 3 goals ahead most games and ending up drawing/losing in the last 15minutes of games is absolutely painful, there is literally nothing you can do to stop it either, go defensive, waste time, slow pace down...whatever it just doesn't work. Games unplayable at the minute and wish I never bought it.
My team IRL seems to be up 2-0 up most times this season before we end up drawing/losing games.

It is confirmed by SI that it is now an issue.
Again, completely unacceptable in my opinion that these "bugs" are the same every year. Every year we go through the same cycle. Issue from last year still persists > SI acknowledges it > problem does not get fixed before full release > still charge people full price for a game they know is bugged in some perspective for years > people like me give feedback and get completely ignored.
Fix this before release AND really fix it so we dont end up having this discussion again. Only then I might consider buying the game. Otherwise I will once again skip another year. We should not accept paying full price for problems that plague the game for years yet every year the same "promises" are made and it isn't fixed at all.
I rather hear honestly "hey we cant fix it this year" than promising it will be fixed. Because Ive heard these promises before. You cannot advertise a feature that's "new", doesn't seem to work and then promise to fix it in future updates. I dont like how the gaming industry is moving, because this seems to be the standard. Were paying full price for games with features that dont work with broken promises. Like FIFA... and we all know how they went down that road with no competition.I said before a few days ago on here that it looked good to another user. SI Confirming this is a issue has put me off buying FM24 for now. Hopefully they fix it before release.

I simulated save on 104k database (17 leagues in 7 countries + many advanced players by national/continental rep). Its season 2030/31 in this moment.

I'm glad to see big clubs give a chance for newgens:
- Loans for young players look more active too. Some players still have no official games in 21 years. But there are definitely fewer of them. Moreover, their attributes are not hopeless. I don’t have the opportunity to check their CA/PA yet.
- Teams try to keep balance between young players and veterans. It seems much better average age in general. I play a journeyman and it will be difficult for me to return to FM22. There I had to improve squad for 2-3 seasons. In most clubs that I have checked in this simulation, at first glance the teams need minimal or no changes in squad.
- Diversity of winners in eurocups and national leagues. Even in the Bundesliga there is no hegemony of one club. Only Paris, but they are very strong and have won the Champions League twice.
- Newgens atributes realistic. At least more realistic than before
- Youth teams don't have the same number of older players as before
- Sponsopships are more fluid. I feel succesful clubs have better contracts. Not only Premier League clubs have a huge sponsopship
- AI clubs have better chance for hold positions after promotions.
- At the same time, clubs look more stable from season to season. I mean, it's become more consistent.
-
Newgens grow much faster. I like this, because in FM22 it was slowly imo. This looks like FM21 times, but more balanced. Very important for long saves!
- Finances/balance looks fine. Some clubs are rich, some have any issues with balance. I don’t see billions on the balance of some (hello, Dortmund and Bayern) and a deep minus for others.
Strange things.
Clubs like Benfica/Ajax spend a lot of money on salaries. Ajax - 7mln p/a for Star Player. Benfica 11 mln (!) for Bakayoko, 9 mln for Zaniolo, 9.6 mln for Vitinha, 9 mln for Gakpo.
I'm not sure if this is what the Portuguese club want to do.
Barcelona has two GK, they have the lowest salaries in the first team. Ter Stegen finished career and Barca just forgot to buy a new top GK.
Bayern Munich wage budget. The same for Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal. Who knows how it will be in 2030, but I want to see any reasonable limit, AI wage gap for this.
Talking about gap, not sure La Liga salary gap works fine in FM24. It seems to me that club salaries should be higher. But need feedback from other players
This hair is... weird? It's hard for me to say how often I saw this. But it definitely catches your eye. And it seems like this hair everywhere.
David Luiz and Collocini had a rather rare hairstyle. FM24 risks becoming a lion's mane meme. Really, we deserve better newgens facesThat looks promising. Appears the youth development bug has been fixed.

Happens in my save too. Still see good young players sitting rotten away in the youth teams of big clubs not getting game time and international selection still selecting old players.
