Does anyone know/have a file to keep the Club World Cup as it is now in real life (with 7 teams held in December) from 2024 onwards? I would love that

Do I need to reinstall the editor for said game? I suppose I can't load it in the FM24 editor?

I use a lot of editor data in my saves but there's one download that I would like that I can't find anywhere on the internet sadly. I don't like the Club World Cup format from 2024 onwards and want to keep it the same as it always has been with 7 teams held in December. Or I'd even rather there would be no CWC at all than have it the new way. I have never used the editor though, I'm playing around a little right now, I've watched some videos on Youtube but I don't understand how I can change the rules and implement it in my new save. Can anyone tell me how to do it, or if that's too complicated, just tell me if it's easy or not or even how I can remove the CWC from the game?

Is there/will there be a version for FM24? Would love that

I was planning on skipping FM24 because FM25 will be the start of a 'new era' but after reading some positive reviews I couldn't help myself anymore and bought the game. Now I wish I had stuck to my plan on skipping this one. There's a lot of bugs like every year, but what is game-breaking for me is the amount of players whining about nothing. I've been a couple of seasons in, with different teams, multiple times already, but after a while it just gets too annoying for me. Maybe good to mention the first one I've played was FM2005 and I've bought every version (and played it hundreds of hours) since 2010. I'll add some context about my current save. I'm managing De Graafschap, a mid-table team in the second tier of Dutch football. As you'll probably understand, we don't have an awful lot of money. My highest earner is on 120K a year, there's two other players on 100K+ but they're by far my best players so the general wage is between 50 and 70K a year. There's a young centre back who signed a new contract at the end of last season, it lasts three more years and since he's good and very promising, I decided on making him one of my 100K+ earners. In fact, he's on exactly 100K a week. I labelled him an 'important player'. Three or four months later, he comes in my office asking me for a new contract since he's got better in the time between signing his last contract and now. First of all, very bold to ask for a new contract just months after signing one. So I tell him, sorry but your contract runs for three more years so I'm not going to give you a new one already. Ofcourse he doesn't agree and his morale drops from 'very good' to 'very bad'. So I decide to take no chances (because I've already experienced how whiney players are in FM24) and I offer him a new contract anyway. He asks for 450K (!) a year. Like, you're good mate but have some shame. We could't afford to go higher than 180K I think, so that's my only option to offer him (wage budget is already maxed out, I couldn't move the dot any more to the wage side) and he declines and walks away immediately. Ofcourse, after these shenanigans, the entire squad gets on my back. They (ELEVEN players) demand to have a meeting where they tell me they're unhappy with the way I handled the situation. I tell them it wouldn't be fair to give him a new contract because then they all had to get one. I would love to tell them his demand were way too high and even if I wanted to, we couldn't afford it, but ofcourse that is not an option (thanks SI). Eleven players who were in very good form and 3rd in the league (expectations: mid table) all leave the room and are now very unhappy with me. I quit the game immediately and don't think I will load it up again, ******* nonsense. Look, I could understand if the player in question's best friend would tell me he thinks he deserves a new contract, but eleven players? What the hell. It feels like you have to do everything the players want you to do every single time without exception, because if you don't the entire squad will be unhappy. I would understand the player himself being a lil bit unhappy (even though that's also idiotic because I simply couldn't afford it) and maybe one or two of his best friends in the squad, but it is absolutely unmanageable like this. You're just the players' b*tch, they're extremely unreasonable and it ruined the game for me. Mind you, it was always annoying when players would whine in other versions but I understand it's part of the game and it would never be too over the top. But in this year's version, it is. SI have ruined my hype for the game after only a month of playing again. It has happened an awful lot of times since 2019 I think. You don't have to count on me playing this game anytime soon anymore! See you later.

I honestly think it’s a shame FM has attracted a bigger fan base over the last few years. When I was younger I always thought: SI really deserves a lot more recognition and sales for the great game they produce every year but now it finally got to that point and it feels like they’re more interested in money than the quality of the game… sad to see, feels like the end of an era, I don’t see FM24 being any better than this year’s game.

This is still not fixed. I think the first time I raised it is over two years ago. Very disappointing.

I feel like the game has become way too complicated. The glaring issues aside (they’ve all been mentioned numerous times in this thread), there’s so many clicks to find simple information. Pointless meeting after pointless meeting, we are talking about a computer game here. It’s meant to pass the time, but SI are striving for realism. Who’s going to tell them it isn’t real life? The whole point of the game is to have fun, but it takes far too much time now. It’s time to go back to the basics, I’m just not having fun anymore. It almost feels like a fulltime job.

I've uploaded the save file, it's called 'Roda JC.fm'. It's a year after I finished second for MotY, but just after I *really* won it, but it says I've won it twice.

Sadly I don’t. The save updates every week, so the maximum I can go back is two or three weeks.

I noticed the same thing. I finished second for Manager of the Season award but the manager timeline (major honours) says I won it.

I’ve been harsh on SI when I wasn’t happy with the game so I have to give credit where credit’s due and I have to say the game is in a much better state since the update. It’s not perfect, but that’s okay as nothing will ever be perfect. I’m enjoying the game right now. That being said, a small detail that bothers me a little is the fact that the team you currently manage is now purple coloured where it used to be kind of blue-ish eversince I can remember. I’ve been talking about unnecessary changes SI made to the game and this is one more example. Why change it? It’s confusing me because purple was always the colour for affiliated clubs, so every time I see my own team I need a fraction of a second to realize it is in fact my own side instead of an affiliated club. Is there any way to change those colours?

I get that there’s no such thing as a bug free game. I also get that you can’t make everyone happy. But what really bothers me is that there’s a lot of bugs that have been in the game for years and they’re not getting fixed, but SI ignore them and decide to focus on scarves and watches for your manager. Ironically enough, that also doesn’t work the way it should. I’m going to name a few examples. Player X wants to leave because he can earn more money elsewhere. So I say to him: okay, how much money do you want? Player X gets angry with me because ‘this is not about money!’ and half the squad is also mad at me. So, I have to let Player X go to keep the squad happy. The minute he gets sold, angry squad members come to me and ask me why in the world I would sell Player X because we can’t replace him. I still try to replace him. I make an offer for Player Y, it gets accepted, but there’s also another club that wants to sign him. I’m top of the table, the other team sits in 7th in the same league and doesn’t have a better reputation. After a long time, Player Y turns me down for the team in 7th, even though I offered him three times more money than they did. So annoying. And there’s loads more. I suggest SI would focus on this type of stuff instead of scarves that don’t work properly. What also bothers me is the amount of clicks we have to do, they increase every year. Of course, we all like the game to be realistic but the strive for realism has gone too far imo. It’s still a game, we play it to pass time. If I want 100% realism I would coach a local youth team or something. There’s loads of features that are completely unnecessary and because of that, sometimes I feel like going back to FM13 because it was way simpler back then. Also, the graphics looked better then which is actually a disgrace if I think about it. Last but not least, the match engine is an absolute shambles. Excessive balls over the top with defenders running away from it. Unplayable. It makes me sad to see that the game is heading towards the wrong direction, because Miles can’t stop boasting on social media. Oh well, I have to accept it and get used to it, I guess. But for now, I’ll stop playing.

Please get rid of PAUSED on the scoreboard. I know the game is paused because, you know, I’m the one who paused it. I’d much rather see the time on there. This is one example of small changes SI make every year that are completely unnecessary and actually make the game a bit worse. Like the total revamp of the match UI in FM21 (still want the old one back), the new squad planner, newgen faces getting worse and there’s plenty more. Sad and a bit frustrating to see to be honest.

I really appreciate the hard work SI, I really do. However, the through balls over the top are kind of a dealbreaker for me. There’s far too many and the defence is all over the place sometimes. It feels like teams are not comfortable in possession, I like that it’s more unpredictable this year but it’s a little too much imo. Hope it will be a little better when the day one patch comes

All I hope for is AI managers not to be stupid anymore (which I have high hopes for) and newgen faces to look like they did in FM17. Would also be nice to have the Match UI of FM20 and before back, but I guess that's not going to happen. The old UI was way 'cleaner' though. Also, one thing that would really make the game better for me is a small detail: how career milestones look in someone's profile. Now it looks like this: While in FM19, it looked like this: The FM19 one looks far better imo, especially the real trophy instead of the yellow one that is used for every single competition in FM22. Also, changing clubs is not really a 'milestone', is it? Would be fantastic if we could see the real trophies again, instead of that yellow one!
