Think Dyche might have done well five years ago when we were a bit bereft of confidence and all the other big sides seemed to have better players than us... the sort of situation he's spent basically his entire career dealing with
But the idea the golden generation is being wasted on defensive Gareth so what we really need is Dyche to take the shackles off is hilarious.
I'd back Dyche to be a lot more adaptable with a better quality of player than he had at Burnley though. The only other name that really fits those parameters is Steve Cooper, and he'd probably be a better fit given he has managed a lot of these players at youth levels.

Nah. Nah man, tell me I've not just read a Sean Dacha for England suggestion.
I'm logging off.
I mean, if we're talking English managers (on the basis that I don't think we'll go the foreign route should Southgate leave) he is the best outside of Potter and Howe. Personally I'd be happy with him managing England.

I'd try and approach Newcastle for Howe. Before he proved he can actually manage a big team, it was clear he was appointed to be a transition manager before they went for a big name anyway like Mark Hughes was at Man City.
Howe is a bad manager, stay away imo.

I love Southgate and by and large I think he's done a decent job this tournament but I think a new approach under a different manager could be a good thing. Saying that I would also be happy for him to continue for Euro 24.
I also don't really see any managers out there that are both A) and improvement on Southgate and B) realistic. Dyche maybe?

Shame.
Played much better than I thought we would and gave it a bloody good go, but just didn't take our opportunities while France weren't great, they took theirs.

Aye that's a pen and a yellow.

Now that is a pen!

Pretty good so far, creating plenty of decent openings. Just been done by a top class goal. Oddly despite us losing im more confident of us winning than I was 45 mins ago.
Would look at taking Foden off for Rashford and running at France a bit more, Foden has done very little so far.

Think the ref has been alright so far tbh

Saka could do with not going down so easily. He doesn't help himself at all.

That was a painful watch, both teams deserve **** all from that.
Shaw and Maguire were good mind.

Mid-table not bad considering it looked like I was in a relegation battle at the end of the group stage!

Donnarumma
Walker - Maguire - Chiellini
Dumfries ------------------------- Shaw
Pedri - Hojbjerg
Sterling - Schick - Chiesa
Was really struggling for central midfielders like

Saka has balls of steel to step up to the plate and take a penalty in that situation - I think the decision to have him take that penalty is questionable but Southgate must have his reasons.
Thought overall on the night Italy deserved the win, we started off really well and then slowly started letting it slip towards the end of the first half and didn't get a grip again until well into extra time. Think Southgate got some key decisions wrong tonight unfortunately but across the tournament he and the team have done the country proud and I think the national team is going in the right direction.

Much prefer the BBC's coverage.

Its soft but you rarely see those overturned once they're given - however if it wasn't given in the first place i'm not sure they'd give a penalty with VAR.
I've not seen any replays of it but on first viewings I thought the one on Kane in the second half looked much more a penalty.

What a win!
I've never experienced a cup final before - World Cup Semi finals and FA Cup/Europa League quarter finals is as good as it gets losing in the World Cup semi took time to get over though.
