  1. Did I just read POSITIONAL PLAY? Oh my, maybe SI will finally give the tactician community some love?
  2. You want to be a Ahole, so be it, I will not engage with a troll no more.
  3. Yes, it exists, and you just proved my point with your arguments. This plenty of people that overachieve in the game are also the ones that know how the game works, I am one of them, and I know there isn't a script that make my team go bad, but there is one that make my player good run became a average, or even bad run, and when I identify this problem, I change him, and maintain my team good form. Usually players that understand the game have a good XI and substitutes to maintain their form, but if you don't have players getting in bad forms, because they are programmed to do it, otherwise you would have a team full of Messis 24/7, then you are probably playing a different game from everybody else. And about the exploitable tactics, they are literally a cheat in the game, how many people can be seen using them and winning non stop because the ME can't handle whatever BS the tactic has as its objective, like in FM16 where the tactics to exploit the wings and crosses, people would win games very easily despite their team being bad, because they were exploiting a part of the game, this has nothing to do with good or bad phases, this is literally "I am cheating the system of the game, and that is why I am winning".
  4. So maybe the devs from the game are wrong in the end lmao. Like I said, years ago when people were complaining about strikers not scoring 1v1 consistenly, and some dev came and said exactly what I said in this post, things most be realistic, if you simply go unbeaten every match, scoring galores of goals every time you face someone, this will defenitely not be realistic. If you had a incredible run, is because you had a incredible team, or maybe you had a exploitable tactic, but if you play the game without buying all the best wonderkids, and using usual tactics, it is intended that you will hit a wall at a given time, because at the end, Fm is a game, and as such, it have coded behaviours, So, yeah, everything is scripted in the game, or otherwhise it wouldn't work
  5. Mid season slump happens because stats most stay realistic. I remember some years back, one SI dev said that the game doesn't make you lose on purpose, or that you striker miss 1v1 a lot of times because there is some voodoo behind the doors wanting you to lose, is simply that the game has to correspond to RL stats. If the game lets you continue your good phase, your striker that is supposed to get 30 goals a season, will get 90. Your team that is supposed to achieve a usual season, with some draws and maybe one or 2 defeats, can go 38 wins without any difficult. So yeah, the game is kinda scripted to maintain the stats on pair with RL, sometimes you literally have to accept that you gonna lose and thats it, nothing you can do to change that. And in case you don't believe me, try to replay a game you lose at least 10 times, someone did this some years ago too, and they had like, 1 or 2 victories, 2 draws and 8 or 7 defeats, something like that, even tho they were the best team.
  6. Exactly this, they said FM24 will be the most complete FM in the whole series, people is so obssesed with FM25 already that they failed to see one thing: FM25 can be a total failure in everything besides graphics. It will be SI first attempt in Unity, maybe they can get it right first hand, or we will only see a good unity FM in FM26/28, we don't know yet, so jumping FM24 can be a bad deal. Remember, changes are always good, but changing can come for the worst too.
  7. It is, Game pass gave it a huge boost in popularity, and players in GP doesn't appear in the steam.
  8. You don't see it being possible because you look in the old ways, but let's face the truth: Everything nowadays is subscription based. The way we stream movies, now even games, and so many things, depending on the country you live. Of course that for the next 10 years we might not see any movement in order to FM turn into a subscription model, but it is completely possible considering how everything in the world is walking.
  9. FM is on a subscription service though, that is Game Pass. Maybe what they said in the text is that they saw that going for GP was a good idea, instead of becoming a monthly subscription alone.
  10. There is literally a part of the blog saying that despite this FM being the most played game in their entire series, that they know that the hardcore players are getting tired of not seeing any changes being made in the game in the last couple years lol. I didn't said it, it was miles.
  11. They said that FM24 is gonna be the most complete game they will make until now, so I don't think it will be just a data update. In my opinion they are preparing everybody for the big changes in FM25, and also dodging the hate when FM24 launches and the graphics still will be more of the same. They know that the hardcore playerbase is slowly losing trust in them.
  12. Unfortunately, a lot of users for FM love to change the database, if that wasn't the case, Geforce now and Xcloud would be perfect to replace their old setups, cloud is slowly but surely becoming the future for gaming.
  13. I remember that I commented somewhere about that SI was planning to make something big years ago, that they had a entire new development team with ideas to put the game in the next level, and finally we understand why this changes took so long. While the change with unity is nice for the graphical side of the game, my interest is with this new changes, SI will finally take the step to a more modern approach to tactics, with modern football and their concepts ready to be used in game, there is years that the game ME have a hard time to let us play a more defensive or slow approach in the game without being heavily punished by however plays gegenpressing. Hoping that they will finally make this changes for the game, turn into a true simulation of modern football.
  14. Is a very good idea, the only reason for the attacking mentality is for when your players went into transition, they will have a better mentality to attack, I usually use balanced and cautious only for possession based tactics, as it leads my players to only take risks when necessary, focusing on retaining the ball, but when you are in a counter setup, you want to move the ball forward as fast and effective as possible, and cautious don't usually deliver that. About the rest, it is exactly what you are looking for, in order to counter the mentality being high, you will lower your LOE and DL, so you can lure the opposition, and the formation is great for defending, as it is know that the formation you setup is how your team defend.
  15. My approach on this first would be to go with the attacking mentality, the reason being that when you counter, you want your players to take risks and rushing the ball forward as soon as possible, because you don't want the opposition to get themselves together, as this would kill your counter. But balance this with the correct roles and instructions, otherwise you will lose a lot of counter opportunities and also be over agressive. Second, identify your fastest player and your best goal scorer, they will be your players with the attack duty, in a counter tactic you will want at least 2 players ready to hit the pedal, and those will be your path to it. Third, use instructions and roles that will lure the opposition into your half, you don't want to be passive, as in order to counter, you need to get the ball back, but if you get to high in the pitch, you won't have the space for the counter to happen, remember, you want to catch them in the transition, so give them the space to advance and letting their players get out of position will help you a lot. Every match day take some minutes to analyse their team. They play with 2 CDs? Go with 2 ST, so when the counter hit, both their defenders will have at least one player bothering them. They have an agressive fullback? Put someone to attack the space that this fullback will leave behind, it will be basically a free lane if you do it correctly.
  16. There is literally 0 excuses to graphics with cloud being a thing nowadays. FM could enter in Geforcenow, stadia and xcloud quite easily, get more sells and better graphics, hardware is becoming something on the past, with cloud, you can play full FM even on your smartphone.
  17. It depends on your striker. If he is more technical and have good movement without the ball, F9 is perfect for him. If he is not so technical, but is hard working, you could go with PF(S), or if he is a great striker, you could go with a CF(S). Of course, that is the way I like to play when I have a solo striker, but if your striker is really good and can manage to score consistently, you could change one of the players in the flank to Winger so he would support more your striker, and of course, if the winger also have the traits to get in the box, he will occasionally drift inside, and even score some opportunities.
  18. Kinda hijacking your thread, but in the same problem, often my players get unhappy when PSG bid for them, and I don't let them leave. Now in my save it was 2026, my player, newgen wonderkid, best salary in the club, play every match, PSG bid for him, instantly get unhappy for not leaving, he doesn't even give me the option to give him a best salary or anything, simply wants to leave. Then PSG bid for 4 other players, all in the same boat of this newgen, all of them also becomes unhappy. I don't see the reason, PSG is 11º in the reputation board, my team is 1º, won champions and premier league 3 years in a row, my team is also rich and have the funds to get better salaries, but they insist that going to PSG is better for their carriers than staying. No other team creates this effect in my player, just PSG, it my be a bug, I don't know.
  19. Defensive mentality can make good results, BUT needs a lot of attention from the player to create such a tactic. I already created a possessive tactic focused on the defensive mentality, the good thing is that you don't take unnecessary risks in the attack, the bad thing is that sometimes players simply get to passive for it to work. Defensive mentality worked better when you could change the team shape, so when you changed it to fluid, players would often risk it more together. But, nowadays in FM, is way easier for you to achieve better results with attacking tactics, for the simple fact that you need less changes and attention to achieve the same results.
