  1. Love this thread mate, definitely got my juices flowing! What sources did you use for your Girona inspired tactic? Been a huge fan of how they've been playing this year.
  2. Hey guys, I’ve found some more interesting reading material which thought you might like! https://medium.com/@stirlingj1982/dice-games-e05bded72596 https://www.osegundovolante.com/post/tactical-analysis-henrik-rydström-malmö-tactics-analysis https://youtu.be/UqIzAmSadd0 Let me know what you think! *Edit* @Cleon has also just released 5 in-depth articles on the topic over on twitter!! Been waiting for this 😍
  3. Love this! I've read so much on this topic since the turn of the year and I'm obsessed. Somehow, this style has made it over to Sweden, with Malmo playing an exceptional style of football. Tempted to start a new save to have a play around myself as my Frankfurt team are geared towards high pressing/quick transitions... any recommendations?
  4. Wow, such awesome advice man! Hugely appreciate you taking the time out and producing something so in-depth. I haven't been able to get on since but got some time this week Will put something together and let you know how it goes!
  5. Thanks mate! I've attached the tactic, let me know your thoughts. I've seemingly already followed some of the more generic principles but eager to develop the counter attacking approach further.
  6. Interesting! I've been running a high press 3421 with Frankfurt but been looking to transition into a counter system, any insights you can share?
  7. Amazing post on a topic I've been following for months, been waiting for an FM translation like this! Great work @Fox-7-
  8. Interesting stuff! I've been trying to build my mid block counter system, have you posted an insight into the tactic on here at all? Would love some inspo/guidance!
  9. Hey @ElJefe4 any update on this? Such a good read, I’m ready for more
  10. Loving this thread! For me, Brighton line up in an asymmetric 4231 with the ST in the left channel and AM offset to the right. At times Brighton do resemble a 424(0) in build up with both the two central forwards dropping off the front to receive. If going 4231, I'd go with an AM-S as Mac10 does pop up in the box quite frequently, and I feel this would compliment the DLF more - hopefully they take turns dropping deep. The back 4 are interesting... at times FB's are positioned wider to give the double pivot more time and space, and the wingers hold the width and then make aggressive runs into the space vacated by the central forwards. There are so many nuances to how RdZ's Brighton play that it's hard to 100% nail a replication, even if that were possible!
  11. I'm 90% sure this would work... weirdly, in FM22 I found that the inversion were much more aggressive and centralised. Now you kinda need to engineer that yourself but I'm the same as you, asymmetric tactics just feel so... bleh Even when using an IWB-D I still felt were got exposed in transition too much... feel like you need a really smart player there, and a quick CB capable of defending the channels (think Gabriel covering for Zinchenko). Also, the press is super important but sadly we don't have much control over that. How I wish we could easily achieve getting our FB to press the opposition FB when during build up lol
  12. I've noticed this too! Funnily enough I've just switched from a 433 to a straight 3421 (would love to use WM's but feel like it's too vulnerable defensively), but the IWB-S got way too high up and also didn't invert as much as on defend. Excited to see your approach!
  13. Interesting, so on that basis I feel like (assuming the AP remains constant) that would work well are: AM-A - CF-A, and SS - Poacher. The first combo the AM stays more central as the CF roams about, second combo is the reverse! Lots of options.
  14. For sure, I guess in some ways the countermovements are even more exaggerated as the F9 starts high and drops deep, but the Poacher stays high and pins the CB's, lovely stuff! I'm debating between using a CF-A, DLF-A or Poacher in this 3421, what do you think would work best? I think the ST 100% needs to drop off slightly to bring the AM's into the game, but also occupy the CB's as per your Poacher.
  15. Great thread as per! I've been thinking about countermovements/third man runs a lot lately... what are your thoughts on a trident (2AM's, 1ST) of: SS-A, AP-S, CF-A/Poacher? My thinking is that we might see some varied countermovements like: AP plays a direct ball to CF/P who lays it on for SS. The split duties between the two AM's might also open up space for the ST to drop in allowing a burst from the AM, or an SV can step up to overload central areas and compress their defence, leaving the WB's free for a cross. Completely theorising right now
  16. I've been wondering if a 4240 might work for this, but may not get the FB pressing their FB
  17. Nice thread mate! I've seen you mention using an AP-A on the flanks quite a bit this year, what role combinations (ST and AMR/L) would you say work well with it?
  18. Really enjoying this mate, inspiring me to go 442 which has always been a favourite of mine on FM!
  19. Haven’t been on here much so apologies if this is a known issue, but has anyone been noticing an insane amount of blocks? Specifically, blocked shots from silly angles that weirdly loop up for the GK to catch? Doing my head in!
