It happens, but rarely, and it even happened in previous FMs. Here is a gif I created in the FM23 feedback thread:

That's, _leads (ie manages)_, not schedules. In the responsibilities under match, there are an option to chose who schedules them.

I really appreciate all of the feedback guys, Like I stated earlier in my post , been playing so much FIFA, so it was hard to get my head around the overall objective of Football Manager. I must say, the more I play it, the more I love it… I have watched a ton of YouTube videos from various famous Football Manager YouTubers, so I have learned a lot. I am a seasoned “Software Developer” for over 20+ years, so I tend to get really deep when it comes down understanding something. 😂
Thanks again guys
I will add one more thing. The game actively tries to avoid letting you min-max things, so while there are many ways to find out some things that happen beneath the surface of the game, SI seems to be deliberately obtuse about giving away mechanics or even the best ways to stack them in you favour, unless implicit by the nature of football itself. So most of the "facts" you can read from youtubers or guides or whatnot that does not include a direct quote by SI staff, are the views of the person making them, or in the best cases, seemingly so. Since this is meant to be a simulation, there should be more than one way to do well in the game. So while certain tactical setups, or attributes can have big impacts, SI haven't directly said how much weight any given variable actually have in any given situation, other than the "higher is better" generalisation.
And there is also a bit of randomness mixed into it to mirror how chaotic real life football can be. After all, in football, you can do everything correct and lose, while you can do everything wrong and still win too. And this is true for the game too, some times you are just unlucky.
I just wanted to add this into the mix since you seem to be one that likes to dive deep, just remember that you will find some stuff that won't have 100% answers.

I have been a long time video game player of all types. I have been playing FIFA for years. Lately I have been getting bored with the whole ULTIMATE team etc.. I have installed Football manager over the last few years, but everytime I started to play, I always got overwhelmed and just uninstalled the game. Now with FM24, I a have spent almost 15+ hours trying to get into it (I have not given up yet 😂).
My questions is:
What is the overall objective of Football Manager
Do you have to take your team to the championship to say “beat the game” (or is there a concept of say beating the game in FM24)
Is the object to just have fun as a Football manager through simulation ?It's essentially an open world game in text! And around the world of football, of course.
The game will play out, if you join or not, as long as you press continue. How you fit into it and what your goals are, are totally up to you. Do you want to start off without a club and see who wants to hire you and aim to be the best? Go ahead! Do you want to take over Manchester City or PSG and spend millions on the best players and steamroll? Go ahead. Do you want to recreate the glory days of <insert club>? Go ahead.
There are essentially no finish to the game, and the whole game can rather be seen as what other games would have as an end game, where you can do challenges, grind up, or just explore. All of this is possible from day one.
So it's, as @Andros mentions, essentially a sandbox game, as most simulations really are. Set up the game to make it the most fun, and go from there.
I think most people who start playing, usually takes over their favourite team and try to win stuff and become the best team in the world. When you've done that a few times, you might want to do something else, and you start in a different country, or league and try to win everything there. Others don't really care about winning, but just enjoy playing with tactics, to see if they can replicate a real managers tactic, and if they do, how well it does at that point. Many others try various challenges, either that they have thought of themselves, or have seen around the internet. Personally, I always do the "youth only" challenge, and have done for years. This essentially means we holiday for a season and then takes over a club that is promoted into the lowest possible tier and try to win the domestic league as well as the Champions League without buying or loaning any players at all, only using the players we get from our youth intakes every year. It's probably one of the hardest challenges that is viable in the game, but that's what I and others do for fun.
The goals or limitations you set for yourself is up to you, if you indeed want goals, and just don't want to think about anything else than winning the next game!

First of all thanks to both of you for answering me,
I try to be more precise:
From the History of my transfers you can see I have spent 85 Mio (Transfer in) and sold for 82 Mio (Transfer out) that's a difference of 3 Mio, so what is shown in the season Preview Tab of My team with 4.03 and that is fine for me.
What I do no understands instead is why for Transfer Net Spent I see 12.92 Mio. Where does this come from, how is it calulated? can it be as Smoo says from Agent fees and similar? Moreover I spend 214 Mio in wages of 235 Mio available, how come they say salary per annum 187Mio , where does this come from, do you have any ideas?
Do you have any installments being payed out from previous seasons? As for wages, perhaps paying wages for players already sold?

XaW - Marine FC - Season 2029/30 (Season 6) - Sky Bet League One
Well, turns out League One is rather easy! Or at least, we are a better team than I knew. But considering Rochdale almost finished in the playoffs this season, and that we beat them in the Vanarama National a few years ago, I guess these leagues are quite close. And considering we also won the EFL Trophy this season, we pretty much did as well as we could possibly do. Based on my previous experiences, the Championship is one of the hardest leagues to get out off, so I fully expect to stay here for a few seasons now that we had a rapid rise up to it. I just hope we start to get in some money as the facilities are starting to sorely lack upgrades now. I still get in some talented players, but I think we've almost reached a plateau for now. Perhaps the improved reputation will help though.
FA Cup: We beat Mansfield, Barrow, and Middlesbrough before we lost to Manchester City in the 4th round.
Carabao Cup: We lost to Watford in the 1st round.
EFL Trophy: We got a group with Port Vale, Fleetwood, and Aston Villa u21. We finished 2nd and qualified for the knockout rounds. There we beat Crewe, Salford, Notts County, and Chesterfield to reach the final. There we beat Lincoln City to claim the trophy!Best players from the academy:
Rakeem Hughes-Mason 26e - Not as good as last year, but still our leading man up front.
Kyle McLean 28b - Mostly 2nd choice left back, but had an amazing season and slowly got more and more starts. Some incredible assists too!
Jason Fitzgerald 27g - A strong season from our main goalkeeper.New club records:
Most clean sheets in a season - Jason Fitzgerald 27g - 14 clean sheets
No new upgrades accepted this season.
U18s
They won the U18 Youth Alliance League North-West this season.
FA Youth Cup: They beat Huddersfield, Wrexham, and Reading before they lost to Aston Villa in the 4th round.
U18 Youth Alliance Cup: They drew Bradford City, Blackpool, Tranmere, and Notts County in the group stage and finished 1st to qualify for the knockout rounds. There they beat Barnsley and Rochdale to reach the final. There they lost on pens to Morecambe.Around the world

Thanks @XaW. I actually really liked the gritty style of @Mahzun_Savas example logo, so I have stole that one for now. But good to know for the future.
I used to have Photoshop so know exactly how to do it there Alas no longer am I blessed with that!!Yeah, I just find it easier to just let the forum do the work when I find a logo and paste it in here. Also, I use this site to remove backgrounds, if there are any.

Well, I can confirm that docking points is indeed possible in the game. I'm in 2029 and about to start the season and Sheffield Wednesday just got docked 12 points for going into administration.

@XaW allright, thanks ! Is it worth it to wait until the next update, or should we wait weeks/months for that? Otherwise I will start a save
Edit: and is it maybe better to vink the box "add players to playable teams"? Because moest 2nd or 3th teams are empty.
I can't guarantee when/if the next versions comes along, so if you want to play, then just go ahead.
And yes, I would advise you to tick that box.

The Beginning
Based in Montevideo the capital of Uruguay. Central Español founded FUF (Uruguayan football federation) in 1923 with Penarol.
They have only won one Uruguayan Championship to date, in 1984!! Time to change that!
PS: Can't remember who it was, but if anyone can make that logo smaller I'd REALLY appreciate it (smallest I could find on the internet)

XaW - Marine FC - Season 2028/29 (Season 5) - Sky Bet League Two
Turns out League Two isn't that hard! After Rochdale did a double promotion, we couldn't be that much worse and just dominated the league. I think this has probably been one of the most surprisingly dominating seasons I've ever had in FM. I had hopes we could fight for a playoff spot after we finished in 10th last season, but this major dominance was just amazing. I've thrown in more and more youth players this season, and that makes it even better. They are showing they can fight at this level, and I'm really happy with how well most of them have done. The development of many of them have been amazing. Now, we just have to stay up in League One next season, but considering Rochdale did without much issue, I have hopes we can continue to compete. Also, Tranmere did not get promoted, so we are officially the 3rd best team from Merseyside. Now, we look towards Everton!
FA Cup: We beat Grimsby Town and Radcliffe before we lost to Stoke in the 3rd round.
Carabao Cup: We beat MK Dons before we lost to Bolton in the 2nd round.
EFL Trophy: We got a group with Wolves u21s, Rotherham, and Carlisle. We finished 2nd and qualified for the knockout rounds. There we lost to Doncaster in the 2nd round.Best players from the academy:
Rakeem Hughes-Mason 26e - An amazing season with loads of goals. Have changed nationality to England, but still has 6 goals in 5 matches for Antigua & Barbuda.
Ben Jordan 26g - Ben had an amazing development last season and are now our first choice left back. Crazy many assists this season.
Jason Fitzgerald 27g - Became our new first choice goalkeeper this season and did well.New club records:
Most goals in a season - Rakeem Hughes-Mason 26e - 40 goals
Most league goals in a season - Rakeem Hughes-Mason 26e - 36 goals
Most player of the match awards in a season - Rakeem Hughes-Mason 26e - 11 PoMs
Most league apps - Sol Solomon - 262 apps
Most league goals - Manassé Mampala - 110 goals
Youngest player - Martin Vasko 29a - 15 years, 117 days
Highest transfer fee received - Raphael Hughes 26b - £657k to Blackburn

Thanks for the replys - would this be affected by my training facilities I was wondering? Although I am in League One with Dulwich Hamlet my training facilities are Below Average...
I'm in league two with worse facilities managing Marine, so no. But you need to chose the right category though. What trait are you trying to remove?

... I sware in previous versions you could ask your coaches etc to work on removing traits? However I can not seem to find a way to do it on FM24 - is there a way or no?
They are there, but you need to look for the wording. One of my players has "Places shots" and if ask for a new trait I can ask for this:
Which is essentially, cancel the trait.

You don't need custom DB, just load more players from Africa when setting up the database. I always do this:
For all continents when I start saves, and it makes at least all national teams and all teams in the continental competitions always be full of players comparable to what they have in real life.
Here are some random teams and nations in my save. Only in 2029, but still.
And I don't have any African leagues loaded in my save. But the nations and teams still have full squads with a healthy mix of newgens coming through. And it also don't add much to processing time either, compared to adding a ton of leagues. So unless you want to follow the African leagues, I'd say load more players instead of adding leagues.

Hey, yeah, it should work, but I always suggest to create a test run for about 5 seasons before committing to any custom files. Especially if you use any other files with it, as I haven't tested anything with other files.

On a sidenote, I really need to start gathering information on football controversies and see if I can alternate the competition histories as well (first and second level and main cup at most btw). Italy does provide some options for that, but my own Netherlands has some possibilities too.
What happens to the Bosman verdict? Will it still happen? Can you create a world where it didn't, technically in the editor?

I just heard DR Congo and changed up due to changes to colonialism, and my thoughts jump to The Congo Free State, and thus to old Leopold II and his, well let's keep this suitable for the forum, rather exploitive and cruel reign there.

@madeirabhoy - Are you looking to get help with this, or are you just venting frustration? Many people have tried to give you pointers, but you seem to flat our refuse any advise. If you want to vent, fine, but let people know so they don't waste their time trying to explain or advise if you are not willing to consider it.

Nah, that just happens for the first few weeks after you take over a new club. Wait a couple of months and the option pops back up.
