That looks quite sensible, thanks for the update. i have to say that this style is the one that gave me the most enjoyable football in FM22. i’ve played around a lot with the deeper striker: starting with Udinese i used Deulofeu as a trequartista, also i have had some players work out as complete forward support. when opposition doesn’t threat much on the counter i might switch my anchorman with a DLP defend, but only situational. i love how simple yet effective this style is. Also situationally i change sone team instructions if i am behind, or soaking up pressure, and it’s amazing how well the team responds to what you see in game. i will try something similar in FM23 i think, but maybe more vertical

@Gah Rii i am a big fan of your approach. Have you figured out some tweaks for when your team grows and teams start playing more defensive against you, leaving less space on counter?

I was so happy when i got it in my second season with Udinese, but it spoiled the enjoyment long term, i had no struggles in succeeding and winning serie a almost 10 years straight now

Well, one by one i looked at my players strenghts. Great passers in midfield will look to take more risky passes, dribblers will dribble more, crossers will cross more often and players with great aggression, workrate and resistance will press more (and when weaknesses the other way round). It's just a matter of simple and logical tweaks to enhance a tactic

Yes, i do. Personalized player by player on their strenghts and weeknesses. Of course if you were to copy this tactic results should be very different from mine, since it's taylored on my team, as per this topic's philosophy

I'm back with another example of how this thread has become one of my favourites ever. I'm currently un 2027 with Udinese and 4 years into a tycoon takeover, so we are expected to be one of the best teams of the league: spoiler, we are, but not world class, and have a mix of wonderkid youngsters and a couple of extablished superstars (and an average goalkeeper, homegrown for the club, still trying to find Carnesecchi's replacement after Bayern came in with 100 mln), and also some great players that work well with how i want to play. I have been applying @dcayton9's method on this save and it has been working wonders. I just wanted to share the tactic i created and the success i am having, so i can give more credit to the man. I have won 5 straight Serie A titles and i managed to get the Champions League too last season, with also quite a few other cup titles here and there.

@dcayton9 would you consider a b2b midfielder a hybrid in your system?

That’s about what i’ve been doing. In my team: maguire presses less pogba sancho and bruno (or mata) try risky passes and are more direct cavani and bruno move into space sancho dribbles more and i think i gave ceballos (cheap fred replacement) some dribbling and passing too. not everyone, only players with specific attributes (and complementary ones) in the greens. I set instructions based on specific player in the tactic setup
