If it's one of those cases where they want to talk about a new contract, there's an option on the far right that says "The club is not in a financial position..." But, if you are past that page and already negotiating there's not a lot you can do.

Higher matchday appearance fees, goal bonus, things like that perhaps?

The loan market has been an issue in FM23, I know I've submitted a decent amount of data to them and they acknowledged the issue, I think finding the right balance to fix it is going to take a bit of time though.

When it comes to squads people have their own ideas on what works for them, with me I tend to run probably slightly than 'usual', around 30 or so for the first team. But there's starting XI, second XI, and the rest. Starting XI are players who are really good at one position, say Forward, but can slide over to another position, AM(L) and do a competent job. Second XI are usually players who are good at more than one position, your classic AM(RCL) type of player, but they aren't as good as your starting AM(L) or AM(R). Your comfortable if they have to start a game or three, but after that....maybe not so much. The rest are either a young player your willing to give time of the bench to improve, or the 30 year old 2 star D(C) you need to come in and do a job during the run where you have 7 games in 28 days. The "Lunch Pail" sort of players. And it gets harder to juggle the lower you go. Pre pandemic, the CN in France was 11 starters, and 3 of 5 subs. You looked for guys who were D(RLC), M(RLC) and AM(RLC) because you didn't have a choice...and I am positive that's influenced me ever since.

From what I can see they are still leaning towards World Rep as a deciding factor, I've seen some youth players breaking into the first team at 18/19, but they were also 130/140's in CA as well. That was before the patch, the database I am working off of is pretty big, But we've also know for awhile now the computer doesn't develop young players as well as a human does, so in order to break into the first team national setup they would have to be extraordinary, which is rare. This keeper has 2 years in the game, his CA/PA is 149/187, he was the starter this year for Athletico, he's the "best young" player in the game in that his 149 PA is higher than any other 17 y/o and below, And these are the three keepers ahead of him on the national team. Cos has 1 U21 Cap, which makes no sense to me because the U21 keepers aren't that good: The best 18 year old is on senior squad, as a sub, but the starter is better than him, the worlds best 19 year old is starting for his country, same with the worlds best 20 year old. But all those players started with a high CA. Jellico

What are you defining as world class? What CA and age?

WHat are his fitness attributes and how often is he running up and down the field?

Clear cache, shut the game down and restart it. Clearing the cache by itself may not work.

You have any customs leagues in the save thats not working?

I will maintain if SI wants to screw over every managers save they will randomize what responses show up where in the press conference. :-)

Yay, moar buttons! Nicely laid out though, so I can appreciate it even more.

Could also be a physio/sports science issue as well, a lot of small moving part to make everything go. Can always submit it as a bug, could be something thats happening only in certain situations and the like.

Check your training intensity and the like as well, I found out the hard way I had screwed mine up, and seven players later finally figured out what was going one. One hell of a PBKAC moment...
