  1. RB Leipzig have been known for their use of the 4-4-2 (4-2-2-2) system to press their opponents. What is the best combination of roles and instructions to recreate this in FM19? This is what I've tried with AFC Wimbledon to recreate this shape: I use the double pivot in the DM strata as you can make DM's play like CM's but you cannot make CM's play like DM's. Both the WM's are told to sit narrower and cut inside.
  2. Is it possible to manage a club's B team such as Dortmund II, Castilla etc? If so, how?
  3. I would like to start a save where I start in a smaller European league and take one of the teams to the top of Europe, whilst building the nation's football as well. I am thinking of nations such as Austria, Switzerland, Serbia, Croatia, Denmark, Sweden etc. Does anyone have any experiences or recommendations of a save like this (teams to pick, ways of building the nation)?
  4. I used Weigl as a Half Back at Spurs for about 7/8 years in my first save on FM18
  5. Exactly, one of my favourite German players in FM along with Weigl, Arp and others
  6. Cheers for the replies everyone. BTW player is Seb Rudy with Stuttgart. Currently playing him in DM(S) role with More Direct Passes PI and training some playmaker-type PPM's along with his current ones. Really useful, cheers Will experiment further and post findings. I think I want the player to play longer passes and be available for passes to support attacking moves (hence support role) but not attract the ball more than others.
  7. Is their any way in the player instructions and PPM's to make a DM role perform like a playmaker (DLP) without just changing the role? I want to avoid the passing routes all going through this role.
  8. Has anyone managed to perfect the pendulum effect in defending in FM where a 5-back turns into a 4 and the wing-back on the side being attacked pushes up and the wing back on the opposite side tucks inside? The initial shape: The Pendulum Effect when being attacked down your left-hand side with the RWB tucking in: Any ideas on how to implement this into FM?
  9. Does the Segundo Volante role attract the ball more than other player roles like the playmaker roles do?
  10. With Leeds in the Championship I am playing with a 3-1-4-2. Here is the tactic: I am looking to play a controlling game, with the intention of keeping the ball to break the opponents lines and not wasting possession of the ball. Build Up Play Keeper distributing the ball to the centre backs. Centre backs looking for any midfield options but preferably through the centre. DM recycles possession and is the link from midfield to defense. I want the two RPM's to pick the ball up from the defence/DM and take it into the final third. I use the fluid team shape to ensure I have a slight separation of defensive, midfield and attacking lines however all players are still expected to contribute a little to all phases of the game. Attacking Play Here is where I am still struggling... I want chances to come from a variety of places: Crosses from WM's Through balls/passes from RPM's Linking play between two strikers Occasional long ball won by DF that brings an opportunity on goal I would like some suggestions on how I can achieve these chance creation positions. Any critique and suggestions are appreciated.
  11. Playing as Torino against Sassuolo I managed to complete 1037 passes in the game. Also had 73% possession.
  12. I am playing with Hibs in Scotland a few seasons in after starting at St. Mirren. The formation that best suits our players is 5 at the backs with wing backs as we have no good wingers. However, the tactic I have created is creating little chances in games and I'm unsure where it is failing. Here is the tactic: Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  13. Any tips to make my Ajax tactic more a potent goalscoring threat? Here's the tactic:
  14. I am currently managing AC Milan in the first season of the save and I am unsure of whether to play a high or deep defensive line. I feel like playing a high line would just reduce space for my team to play since most team I will come up against will play defensively. Also, playing a deeper line makes playing out from the back easier but on the other hand the banks of players are further apart. This is my base tactic: Any advice on what kind of system to play?
  15. Every time I try to start a new career the progress bar stops on the 'Setting up game database' part. I have read the help pages for this and have deleted both my cache and preferences but nothing has changed.
