  1. Yeh I think the match engine is more bug free than previous versions, however still serious issues off the pitch with AI and player interactions
  2. Please stop being so argumentative. There is a valid issue raised here by the community and whataboutism is not going to help. It was a major selling feature and currently it's not present in the game. So it needs to be addressed. Arguing with forum members is just going to take away from the point at hand.
  3. It's a shame that your press conference post (which is great btw and I completely agree with) was made over 3 years ago and they still haven't made any of those changes in the versions since.
  4. United are in a precious position in real life. Their revenue (and TV money) is still top tier, however they have huge debts a stadium that is falling apart and have spent an extortionate amount of money with very little to show for it. Along with Chelsea, they have a very uncertain future ahead if they can't get into the CL consistently
  5. I did notice that. I remember the threads on here about FM touch. Each year they were getting more popular with people making the jump. The people who made the jump were typically users from the only CM days who just wanted tactics and transfers as the focus. I think a lot of people initially thought FM Touch was similar to FM Mobile. But it wasn't, it was the full game, just with things like Media, Staff and Training streamlined. It ran like a dream and was close to perfect. Was gutted when it was made console only. It was all the good of football manager with none of the modern tedious bloat
  6. They said they fixed AI squad building and youth development but early indications seem to suggest it's as bad as ever
  7. We all know how they go... "Hey just wanted to praise your recent form" "I disagree, I can play better" "Ok no worries, look forward to seeing what else you can bring" "I can't believe how you have handled this" (Player morale drops) Or the stupid team talks (board wants you to finish top 4) "I would like us to push for top 4 this year" "All players are now offended" Since they were introduced they have been so tedious, repetitive and broken. They were introduced to add to the immersion, but are so broken that they actually do the opposite and detract from it. Even when they do work as intended, they are so boring. I know you can send your ass man but I am not sure if there are negative results for doing that? That's why I always preferred FM Classic/Touch for the PC. It did away with most the bloated fluff like that. I would love the option for them to be removed from the game. However that's just me. Does anyone on here actually like them?
  8. You will get a refund. You can play as much as you want during the beta period and then refund it on Steam. I did the same last year. It was the worst version in a while imo. I was not going to get this year's but was sold on the improved AI and squad building. However it doesn't seem to be any different sadly. So contemplating refunding too
  9. There's an easy fix to playing time. Currently the AI just picks on CA. They need to start picking/rotating in youngster (let's say u23's) using an average of the CA and PA combined.
  10. I don't think I can copy the link on here but it's the top post on the football manager sub Reddit. There is a data graph there too. Here is a copy and paste though: Ok so I ran the simulation (1 season vs 10 seasons) is here are my findings. I focused on comparing average ages of arbitrary clubs and national teams and U25 players. Why U25? Because in 2033 this is the age of the first wave of newgens. Here are the caveats: U25 in 2024 and 2033 are very different thing. There will be many more players in the range between 18 and 24 in U25 in 2024, while in 2025 U25 will be comprised at least by 75% by 25 years old players. AI does very bad job at developing players. Obviously it's speculative without the in-game editor but at a glance, even the starts of the future like the top Madrid striker would have stats that I would give 160-170 CA at most. Not terrible at all, but definitely not world start level. You can also see that in the media descriptions. Qualifiers like "elite" or "world class" are very rare and they usually tell the story about CA. I expect the numbers to be somewhat better once this stupid issue of the AI completely ignoring the fitness of the players and therefore not making subs or rotations based on that. Even if it would yield 10-15% improvement between the game's results and the real world's, it would essentially fix the issue. National teams seem to hand call ups out to pretty clearly underserving players. Like a third of Brazil in 2033 consists of players who barely play in their teams, which makes no sense and inflates the stats in favour of the game when it comes to the national teams. So what can be done to improve this still leaving a lot to be desired situation: As mentioned before, fix the damn rotations and subs. This was literally presented as a feature of the new game and it's worse than ever before. What are you doing SI?.. Make AI managers play high PA players from time to time just for the sake of their development, literally starting from them being fresh out of the youth intake. Make players force their way out of the club if they are blatantly underutilised. Everyone's favourite example is Mukouko for a good reason - he never gets any play time in Dortmund except when he needs to come out as a substitution for an injured player. Even in a well functioning game engine (that it's not right now), this sort of situation would happen occasionally as they are a part of football. Great - just make it so that the players like that would leave, simple as. Transfer request etc. If you truly implemented the new "smarter" managers who buy people that they actually need, this would play very nicely into that improvement as well. Finally, if everything else fails, just make players' attributes to grow faster from training and playing in lower divisions on loans. Like literally take the current rate and multiply it by 1.5 (at least). Everyone would like that, no one playing FM likes the current rate of player development and this is surely one of the issues at play here.
  11. Just seen a deep dive post on Reddit about AI player development and rotation. The summery is that it's terrible and possibly worse than previous versions. I echo the comments on there that ask SI to address this seeing as it was an advertised feature. Please note, this is not a bug. This was an advertised feature, so that means it was recognised as being in the game, which currently, it is not
  12. For me, its due to the outdated CA and PA system. The AI is driven by CA only when it comes to playing time. (PA is only used for reputation and Transfers) I feel CA needs to be reworked so it's within a certain bracket. Eg currently a player with 190 PA who lets say has a CA of 110, will only ever play like a 110 CA player (with consistency playing a factor of course) so the AI will only see him as that. What needs to happen is instead of having the current ceiling at 110, it needs to be within a bracket of something like 100 - 150 CA. The consistency attribute and a few others can determine what CA this player plays like on a match day, but the AI will now start recognising him as a 100 - 150 player, instead of a 110. So in theory, will then start getting more match time. Or alternatively take something like an average of the CA and PA combined Look at C.Ronaldo when he broke onto the scene at Sporting, his potential was always the same 195+, but his CA would naturally fluctuate so much. He would play like a 170 player one match and a 120 player another. This is understandable given his age and inexperience and the manger recognised that but saw the potential. The AI currently doesn't see the bigger picture.
  13. Any type of player or press interaction is just tedious and a waste of time, especially when the outcomes are so nonsensical. The addition was made to add to the immersion but it's so broken and repetitive that is actually detracts from it. It's the worst addition SI ever made I feel. I wish they would give the option to remove it. I know ass man can cover some things, but I would like it gone completely
  14. So frustrating. Especially after they marketed it as an improvement
  15. Not had a chance to play myself yet but seeing a thread on Reddit where they say the AI is still broken. Silly transfers and not playing youth or rotating etc. Has anyone noticed any AI improvements? This was the one feature that made me decide to buy FM again
  16. Listening to Blinks new album before the beta. It's a banger. The rest of the songs are much better than the singles
  17. It's deliberate. They use the guesswork to create hype. It's easy marketing. It makes FM trend on twitter and they get loads of engagement on their socials from people asking about Beta
  18. It's definitely decided before hand. They don't just coincidentally get it ready approximately 2 weeks before each year. Plus the things like the YouTube and twitter etc need to be arranged. Also they have to balance it out between creating hype. Giving enough time for beta players to play, but not long enough that people binge it and then refund it (with steam, you can play as much as you want and refund it at any time in the beta. Because it's beta, the 2 hour rule does not apply)
  19. It was the Beta: 20 minutes ago, nunch98 said: FM23 - 18:09 FM22 - 20:05 FM21 - 00:02 FM20 - 20:02 FM19 - 18:33
