    Hello, @Weston

We have extensively tested this on both the provided save and other saves.

The following is the players names, their asking price/range and the highest amount they'll accept the asking price set at:

    Adewumi: value £100k - £1m, highest accepted £1.2m
    Eren Keles: value £65k - £110k, highest accepted £150k
Thomas Fink: Value ££60k-£900k, highest accepted £1.1m
Sherzadeh: Value £500k-£950k, hightest accepted £1.2m
Krohn: Value £4k - £30k, highest accepted £35k (in original screenshot fee is showing as £50k, that's £20k above his max value range, over 50% extra - he won't be happy with that)

None of the players complain about the highest value I've noted above, which is above the high end of the base value. I've done this both setting the fee on transfer status page and when offering players out and they're all fine with these valuations.

With the no bids coming in issue, please create a separate post in the 'transfers and contracts' forum.

Thanks for testing this and getting back to me.

It's very strange that it works for you but not for me, any idea why that might be? Were we using different versions?

Separate from what the number is or isn't, there's also the big picture - in general, why would a player ever get upset by an asking price potentially being too high to receive an off if they don't want to leave / explicitly would like to stay?

I think that aspect needs some attention as well. If I were at a club I didn't care to leave and they set my asking price above my value, I would be glad, because 1) it makes me look better, 2) it means I likely won't be going anywhere, 3) if I did get an offer it would be an enticing one from a club that really, really wants me!

    I'll look into this.

I do remember that some of these countries were set back in the day when the idea was to control a bit from which countries the majority of the foreign players are coming to Finnish series.

It was never meant to affect scouts knowledge directly as seen here, so the transfer preferences needs to be updated.

Out of curiosity, what is the logic behind controlling which countries clubs from certain leagues sign from? For example, I noticed a lot of Nigerian players in Latvia, which seemed rather random (but Latvian staff had different knowledge, if I recall correctly).

Do Finnish clubs across the board really go out of their way to farm talent from those places in real life? I don't know.

Just seems strange to have 0 knowledge of neighboring Sweden and Norway, but be very familiar with two African nations a world away that 1) aren't in scouting range and 2) don't even share a border.

  3. And then, annoyingly, if you use the editor to workaround this and send him there on loan for the agreed amount, there's no way to specify the playing time or position like there should be and is in normal loan negotiations.

Even worse, the playing time slot is blank, so I don't even know what it's been randomly set to...

  4. In general it's still very difficult to loan players out for some reason. For example, I signed this guy specifically to loan him out, signing him to a low-ranking squad status.

He says he's not that interested in leaving, and no clubs are shown to be interested on the transfer page. Yet I get inbox messages about clubs that want him, such as the below:

So I offer him again at 70% wage contribution so KR will sign him.... and they don't respond. Why not? They want him for that amount and also don't at the same time?

  5. Update - Koskela's agent told me he would accept 40-60k, which I can pay.

So I tried to negotiate with him again. Despite this, he wouldn't even talk to me...

...and then went to another club's reserve team for less than I would've paid him!

I was able to get him to join on loan after as well, proving that he's not opposed to playing for my team in my league.

This is set as part of a nation's Transfer Preferences, to model the nations which scouts from Finland will typically have knowledge of. I'll pass this onto @Vesse to judge whether these may need altering. Thanks for raising!

Just seems like an oddly specific set of disconnected countries for like 99% of staff to have a lockstep identical knowledge of regardless of the reason. But I am curious as to what the reason is that this set of nations was selected, especially considering most are out of the scouting range.

We're exploring this save now to investigate why it's happening in this instance.

We don't have a workaround yet, but if you have the names of further players you encounter this with it'll be really useful when testing this as we haven't found too many examples just yet.

It feels like it's happening all the time - here is an incomplete list:

    • Miika Koskela
    • Otso Liimatta
    • Moshtagh Yaghoubi
    • Sebastian Dahlstrom
    • Thomas Makinen
    • Ville Sarkka
    • Elias Eriksson
    • Tony Miettinen

For the last two, they're nothing special and got signed on 0 contracts and/or had no other clubs interested, so I used the editor to move them to my club where I pay them, as my attempt at a realistic workaround.

I would really like to sign Yaghoubi, who is a bit better, and no other clubs are interested. I would like to use the editor to sign him as a workaround since it seems this reason that he is not interested is a bug (vs, say, Arttu Hoskonen, who just says he is not interested in general). But because of the concurrent bug where, despite scouting him 100%, there is still no wage demand estimate, I don't know what his contract should be.

Can you let me know what a fair contract for him would be based on what you see on the backend, and then I'll give him that? The editor gives him 21k which seems a bit on the lower side, but I don't know. Guess I'll put 30k for now since he was on 29k before.

I won't do this for Koskela, because other clubs are interested, so I wouldn't know if he would pick me regardless.
