If you've loaned 5 players in the last window you can't negotiate loans to start in the next window, it's just grayed out. Absurdly, the AI is making loan deals with itself and then canceling them within this same purgatory period.

Now I'm scared to sign players to loan out without baking it into the deal to avoid these problems, but the ability to loan back a player you sign is also missing for no discernible reason...
We are in the transfer window, why can't I do it? I should be able to schedule it even if I weren't in the transfer window.
Any update on these loan issues?

Seeing another with no knowledge at all. @Vesse do you know if they actually have no knowledge or is this an issue with displaying what they have? Never seen this before - surely they at least know their home nation. The level of scout I'm able to hire at this point won't have great attributes, so the knowledge they come with is arguably more valuable at least for a while.
Made a separate post with the other example.

Hello, @Weston looking at your save, you are asking for pretty high current and potential ability that fits your specific tactic.
All within the very limited confines of your scouting package which is the surrounding divisions.
Maybe in that current save I tried something like that but 99% of the ones I'm doing, unless I'm mistaken, are 3.5* any position, transfer or loan. In my scouting reports I receive countless players that fit these exact specifications, they're just separate from my assignment, which comes up empty. Why is the assignment unable to find these free agents but my scouts are somehow able to find them separately through another channel? It doesn't make sense.

It did kick in eventually, I guess it just took a little time.

Formation and tactics are completely wrong as well.

Yet another example of a player and agent telling me different things -
Agent says he "would be interested in a loan move," but the player refuses to extend his loan. Why?
See save "VPS won iiiii."
@Kyle Brown @Zachary Whyte Would either of you be able to tell me which is correct? Does he want to stay with me on loan or not? Because if the agent is correct, and he does, and the bug is him rejecting the offer, then I can just use the editor to bring him back on loan again.

I even tried responding to bids this way and then changing the incorrectly automatically changed asking price field back to unspecified before hitting next and the players still get upset about it even though they don't mind staying and I'm only responding to one private offer.

Got a low-ball offer for Jaume and since he wasn't demanding to leave I replied with a 1m counter offer - if they want him that badly they can pay since neither me nor the player are needing the move.
Now the player is upset that I've set his asking price too high *when I didn't even set an asking price I just negotiated one specific deal.*
Doing this shouldn't set an asking price, nor should the player who is not asking to leave be upset that it is high.

Do you have another player or two we could use as an example? I'll ask the team to retest the new players.
If you go back to that early save where I have a ton of players on trial, the contracts their agents ask for are all wildly different from what they told me their demands were when they first arrived. I thought maybe something crazy changed in the few weeks they spent on trial (outside interest growing, etc.), which is why I tried it with a few players in the same day, and they had the same problem. If you can't get it to replicate try other players on trial at the time, and keep in mind I am attempting to negotiate with them all - some I'm offering less or more or different promises, so I can understand some fluctuation, but a vague 10x increase doesn't make any sense (I seem to recall Rolando going from like 7k to 70k the same day).

@Kyle Brownmaybe you can take a look at the above today? I don't want to continue with my save until I know how to proceed - wouldn't want to lose him because of a bug or use the editor to workaround this if he is really meant to want to leave regardless.

We'll need to keep an eye out in internal playthroughs but given it's not perpetual it may be a struggle to reproduce again.
Out of interest, do you recall going onto a players profile and then returning to the match?
I don't remember what I did before but I'll make a not if I can when it happens again.

@Zachary Whyte Now he's getting a Bosman offer from another club, which doesn't make sense, because when someone is opting to wait until their contract runs out before deciding what to do they don't entertain contract offers.
But he also tells me he wants to renew but can't because we can't afford him, which simply isn't true...
So do I use the editor to renew him, or not? Is he actually interested in taking a reasonable wage increase to stay as I get promoted, or does he actually want to cash out elsewhere regardless? It's impossible to tell because of the conflicting information I'm getting, but I'd appreciate any advice you can give me on how to proceed from here. (See saves "VPS july iii" and "VPS july iii (v03)."

Hi @Weston
What happens if you click position icon next to the player where the green is selected?
You are currently displaying player opposition instructions and if you click the button next to it, that should display the opposition instructions set to the position?
I believe then you will see what you are requesting
Thanks
jackAh okay, there it is, thanks! I knew I was misremembering/forgetting something. Did the way this was displayed change in recent years or did I just get confused?
It certainly would be more intuitive to see the results of your positional instructions on the actual lineup of the actual players in this screen, perhaps with a slightly different color or indicator to represent if it's player or positional, instead of having to click to view them as a separate filter.

Thank you for flagging. We will investigate this further.
In the meantime, how can I workaround this with the editor so that I can play him or loan him to another club?

Hi, it looks like that player is out of contract so can't do loan deals/have a contract start at the end of the contract.
There are a lot of players signed to non-contracts but there should be other options other than just signing them right now. In real life there is no reason why I couldn't approach him with an offer that begins at the end of the season - that's what Bosmans are, which happen all the time. There should be a way to arrange this in-game without having to use the editor.
