  1. Season 28 2044/2045 League Table | Transfers | Player Stats Dafabet Welsh Premier League A horror show by our standards, 4 losses and a draw. Still we won the league for a decent 23rd consecutive time. Cup runs We won both cups for the second year in a row. Champions League We drew Man City, Barcelona and Austria Wien. A very hard draw, but we have beaten the big teams before! After three games we had zero points, and had lost to Austria at home. We then proceded to draw against Barcelona at home, before a loss to City meant that we had to win in Austria to grab the 3rd place and a chance at the Europa League. Thankfully we handely defeated Austria, and advanced to the Europa League knock-out stages. After tasting the CL knock-out stages several times, it's a bit of a let-down to go to the EL in back-2-back years, but it's still a great challenge for us. We drew Zenit, an opponent I fell we should be able to beat. We won 3-2 at home, with them scoring a crucial late goal. The cold in Russia proved to much for us, and we were anemic in a 1-0 loss, and once again we're bounced by the way of the away goal rule. The moment our european campaign is over, is a very though time for the club. All the domestic games feel somewhat hollow, when we don't have the benefit of approaching them as preparation for the european ties. The rest of the season feels like work, rather than pleasure Youth Setup: Youth Intake Phil Reynolds 28A | Thomas Rees 28B The intake came only a couple of weeks after our european disappointment, and this year it served as a major encouragement. For the first time in what feels like quite some time our intake makes a great first impression. The top two prospects are both centre backs, and they both look like future starters. Phil Reynolds 28A looks especially good, and he became both our youngest player ever and the youngest goal scorer. He has a professional personality, is a consistent performer and has 20 determination, amazing. Furthermore a couple of players from the last two intakes have made great strides, and both got loads of playing time this year which prompted great growth. Gareth Smitham 26A and Jamie Bishop 27A have earned tags, defying my inital impressions of them. Smitham had a slack personality and 6 determination, but has been tutored into a professional personality with 12 determination, which has massively helped his progression. Big Fat Goalie Challenge: Dave Owen 14B - 105 Goals. 13 this season, 2 free kicks. Dave cracked triple digits this year, pretty amazing stuff. He looks to have a great shot to beat Rogerio Ceni's GK scoring record of 131 goals. 13 goals is actually his best ever season from a scoring perspective. Danny Roberts Challenge The aim in this Challenge is to get a player to score 1000 goals during his career, national team goals count. Most goals: Huw Price 4A - 447 goals in 669 games. The legend has retired. Jacob Davies 10D - 391 goals in 354 games. Has left the club, so wont add to this. Is currently playing week-in and week out for the elevator team that is Burnley. Matthew Rees 18A - Club: 423 goals in 434 games. 33 goals in 47 games this season. International: 14 Goals in 50 caps. 0 goal in 5 caps this year. Total: 437 Goals 33 in 47 is not going to cut it.
  2. I'm doing this as a part of my youth academy challenge. My goalkeeper Dave Owen is at 97 goals in 629 apps, at 29 years old. He has only cracked double digit scoring numbers in one season, which is a bit low compared to some of the greats of this thread.
  3. Season 27 2043/2044 League Table | Transfers | Player Stats Dafabet Welsh Premier League Lost twice to our (very) old rivals TNS, and drew a game against Airbus making it a below average league season for us. Cup runs We won both cups. Barry took us to extra-time in the Welsh Cup, but we prevailed 3-2! Champions League We drew RB Salzburg, BMG and PSV in our CL-group, which would seem like a pretty good draw. However we were unable to keep our great run of advancing to the knock.out stages going, picking up only 5 points and narrowly securing 3rd place. This could have been a blessing in disguise, as I felt like we had a decent chance at achieving something great in the Europa League. The draw was merciless, pitting us against by far the best team in the competition, Juventus. Juventus are one of the top teams in the world, and proved to strong over the course of 2 legs. We lost 3-4 at home, with them scoring on every shot at target. The return game went the opposite way, with us showing incredible effieciency while they dominated the game. We went up 2-3 in overtime, but while throwing everything forward to get the winning goal, the countered in a 3-3 equaliser. All in all a pretty disappointing european season. Youth Setup: Forgot to screenshot the youth intake. A couple of 3,5 star recruits, who might have a shot down the line. One of them came through our affiliated club Mansfield, which I was quite pleased with Big Fat Goalie Challenge: Dave Owen 14B - 92 Goals. 9 this season, 2 free kicks. Closing in on 100 goals, pretty nice! Matthew Rees 18A - Club: 390 goals in 387 games. 41 goals in 49 games this season. International: 14 Goals in 45 caps. 2 goal in 8 caps this year. Total: 404 Goals Rees 18A bounced back with a good scoring output this season. We still need more from him if he is going to have any chance at closing in on 1000 goals. Semi-Interesting stuff After 27 season we finally were able to upgrade our Youth Recruitment. About gosh darn time!!
  4. Life happens School, training and vacation etc. stealing time from the only really important thing in life, FM
  5. Season 26 2042/2043 League Table | Transfers | Player Stats Dafabet Welsh Premier League After three months away from the game I'm back with renewed motivation. We had a remarkable league season, a lone draw kept us from winning every single game this year. Cup runs We lost in the semi-final of both cups to Airbus UK. They were also the team that got the draw against us in the league, so we definately need to avenge these results next year! Champions League We easily qualified for the CL, and were rewarded with a pretty tough draw. Atletico Madrid, Man Utd and Shakhtar were our opponents. The group stage started in incredible fashion as we won 0-1 at Old Trafford before beating Atletico 2-1 at home, thanks to two late Jordan Jones 22B goals. We followed this amazing start with losing back-to-back games against Shakhtar, both 1-0. We then were able to beat Man Utd 1-0 at home, but the other results meant that we had to secure a point away to Atletico in the last match to advance. We fell behind early, but fought bravely. And for the second year in a row we snatched the all important equaliser in overtime of the last game of the groupstage, to see us through to the knockout-stages! Jordan Jones 22B was our hero, equalising in the 91st minute! That goal lifted us from 3rd to 1st in the group, and meant we got a nice draw for the knockout game, Fenerbache! We won 3-0 in Turkey, and i was over the moon. We totally outplayed them, and showed incredible class. The home game was surely a formality now... Between the knockout-games we had an insane injury crisis. When the home game came, 8 of the players starting the first game were either out injured or suspended. However many injuries we had, I still felt quite confident being 3-0 up from the first game. Devestation ensued, and after 120 minutes the score was 0-3 Fenerbache and the game went to penalty shoot-out. We scored only one penalty, and crashed out of the Champions League in heartbreaking fashion. One of the toughest blows I've sustained in quite some time Youth Setup: Youth Intake Blah. Nothing good here, from the looks of it. Will be very surprised if any of this lot make it here. Big Fat Goalie Challenge: Dave Owen 14B - 83 Goals. 4 this season, 0 free kicks. Closing in on 100 goals, pretty nice! Matthew Rees 18A - Club: 349 goals in 338 games. 27 goals in 36 games this season. International: 12 Goals in 37 caps. 2 goal in 5 caps this year. Total: 361 Goals Not his best season, Jordan Jones 22B and Andy Jones 23C seem to have surpassed him as our best strikers. Semi-Interesting stuff We have produced 97 players for the Welsh Premier League. Decent stuff.
  6. @wicksyFM I don't have the game open as I am at work, but i average about 1400 in the league. No other teams average over 1000. In the big CL matches we usually sell out stadium we are loaning, which holds 14.500. The tv-money and sponsormoney has grown, but not by enough to compensate for the growth of the league IMO. Will get you some numbers when I get home later
  7. Season 25 Legends Retiring After a long season Haverfordwest legends Dafydd Davies 7A and Gwion Price 5A have decided to retire. They are the two leading appearance-makers in Haverfordwest history, with 769 and 629 games. Gwion told me early in the season that it would be his last season, which allowed me to give him a very nice last game. He had only played in 4 games this year when the seasons last game came around. The Welsh Cup Final against Airbus. I decided to reward him for his amazing service and started him. And it was crazy, something like Zidane in the 2006 World Cup(minus the headbutt), he totally bossed the game and got man of the match with an 8.5 rating and an assist. No other player had over 7.3, it was like he had channeled all his talent into this one game. To see a legend go out like that made me a little misty eyed. He played 21 seasons for the club, and apart from the first one, where he only came in through the intake in March, we won the league in every season. A legend who didn't get to go out in that fashion was Dafydd Davies 7A. Our captain of 15+ years didn't give me any warning that he was going to retire, so he wasn't in the squad for the cup final. I tried to talk him out of it, but he was adamant that the time had come to hang them up. He did feature a lot more than Gwion this season appearing in 39 games. His career stats are unbelievable, he played 19 seasons for us, and we won the league in every single one. He scored in 18 straight Welsh PL seasons and had 9 seasons of over 7.50 rating and a couple very close ones. That he only got 2 Caps for Wales is a joke, whatever he may have lacked in ability he surely made up for in character. Dafydd was named Welsh Premier League player of the year 4 times, and Welsh Premier of the league twice. Our great leader and captain had started taking coaching badges, and was promtply made Manager of the reserve team after his retirement. The in-game news item following their retirement was eye-popping stuff: Gwion Price 5A | Dafydd Davies 7A
  8. Season 25 2041/2042 League Table | Transfers | Player Stats Dafabet Welsh Premier League 20 in a row. Lost a game Cup runs 2 of 2. In the Welsh cup final I decided to start Gwion Price 5A as he had declared his intentions to retire after the season. He had only played in 4 games all season, but Champions League For the first time we had a pretty lucky draw. Monaco, Zenit and Ajax were our opponents, by far the easiest group we've ever had in the CL. Unfortunately we were destroyd in the first 2 games, getting outclassed by both Monaco and Ajax, before we picked up a draw against Zenit. I was furious, I was so sure we would perform better in this group. Thankfully we turned it around in the second half of the stage, and won the next two games. This saw us needing only a point against Zenit in the last game to advance. We pushed Zenit for much of the game, even missing a penalty, and it felt like an unfair sucker punch when they took the lead in the 72nd minute. I was desperate and in the 87th minute I made a move I dare say few other would have made. I subbed out our star and goal machine Matthew Rees 18A for young up-and-comer Andy Jones 23C. He repayed my trust only three minutes later, euqalising to 1-1 and sending us through to the knock-out stages in the dying seconds of the game! We drew Man City in the first knock-out stage. We played very well at home, earning a 0-0 draw which could have easily been a win for us. The game in manchester however was a sad affair, we stood firm untill Dave Owen 14B scored an own goal at this stage for the second year in a row. After that costly mistake we fell apart, and it ended up being an embarrising 5-0 shellacking. Youth Setup: Youth Intake Blah. Nothing good here, from the looks of it. Will be very surprised if any of this lot make it here. We got our first youngster from an affiliate, unfortunatly the lad from Dungannon was pretty poor. Big Fat Goalie Challenge: Dave Owen 14B - 79 Goals. 9 this season, 2 free kicks. Closing in on 100 goals, pretty nice! Matthew Rees 18A - Club: 320 goals in 302 games. 36 goals in 38 games this season. International: 10 Goals in 32 caps. 1 goal in 5 caps this year. Total: 330 Goals Very disappointing from Matthew, who just doesn't seem as lethal anymore. He isn't unhappy or wanting to move away, but his performances just aren't the same as they used to be. At 23 years old he should still be improving, but it seems he is regressing. Hopefully he can bounce back and regain his hunger for goals, because 37 goals in a season just wont cut it. Maybe Jordan Jones 22B is taking away his thunder, and that playing next to such a great player is actually hindering his goal scoring? Semi-interesting stuff With our recent CL-success we are now nearing getting two teams into the CL-qualification which would be cool. The Welsh Premier League is ranked as the 18th best top division. We have now moved into the top 40 teams in europe, and is ranked at 37. Hopefully we could be a third seed in next years CL-draw.
  9. Season 24 2040/2041 League Table | Transfers | Season Review Dafabet Welsh Premier League 19 in a row. Lost a game Cup runs 2 of 2. Champions League Amazing performance in the CL groupstage this year. Beat Anderlecht in the first game, and then drew against Juve and Arsenal while massively dominating both games. Then we played Juventus out of the park at home, and ran out 4-1 winners before Arsenal brought us back to earth in a 5-0 loss. We qualified for the knock-out stages of the CL for the first time! The draw was pretty kind to us and we fancied our chances against Sporting. A good home game petered out in a kind of disappointing 0-0 draw, before we totally collapsed in Portugal. We lost 4-1 as our goalie had a very poor game, we conceded in the first minute thanks to him deflecting a cross into his own net. And he screwed up on 2 of the other goals aswell. Incredibly disappointing end to an amazing european campaign. Dave Owen 14B will remember that game in Portugal for a long time, and hopefully it inspires him to improve. Youth Setup: Youth Intake A pretty meh intake by the looks of it. The best player is a 4-star rated left back. But only time can tell what will become of this bunch. Big Fat Goalie Challenge: Dave Owen 14B - 70 Goals. 8 this season, 2 free kicks. A bounce-back season scoring-wise. 8 Goals is very acceptable. Matthew Rees 18A - Club: 286 goals in 264 games. 45 goals in 50 games this season. International: 9 Goals in 27 caps. 5 goals in 10 caps this year. Total: 295 Goals A pretty disappointing scoring season, that saw him come in at a paltry third place in the league top scorer race. 5 international goals was very nice though. Hopefully he will bounce back next year, we need him to grab 60+. Semi-Interesting stuff The amazing striker Bangor City bought before the season was crowned the Welsh Premier League top scorer with 25 goals in 30 games. He teared up the cup competitions aswell, adding 14 in 6 games there. The other teams keep adding decent players from Ireland and N. Ireland, great to see. Jordan Jones 22B is starting to look insanely good, I might have screwed up not going for the Danny Roberts with him, but I am trying to mould him into a supporting striker. His development has been phenomenal no matter how you look at it. I also for the first time have gotten some affiliated clubs from abroad. We have managed to negotiate a youth setup affiliation with three clubs, which should see us get more youngsters from abroad. Hopefully a scottish or irish star will turn up!
  10. @Braumiller Congrats! Great to see you get your first of what I'm certain will be many league titles. Also cool to see Haverfordwest being promoted and turning pro, hopefully they can establish themselves as a good welsh team in the years to come. Good luck in the CL-qualifiers, its possible to get some lucky draws and quickly get into the third round. And anything can happen from there on in, I should know
  11. @Braumiller He just retired, got sick of winning I guess
  12. @Braumiller Great season. You'll soon get them! Is Craig Harrison still in charge of TNS? He knows his football.. In other news, I've advanced from the CL-group stage for the first time! We beat Anderlecht 2-1 at home in the fifth game to secure advancement. We then travelled to the Emirates to take on Arsenal, needing only 1 point to win the group. Our immense form unfortnuately came to an end, and we were steam-rolled in a 5-0 loss. A bit disheartening, as it felt like we had really gotten a grip on these games, but the gap in quality is still hard to overcome when the opposition is playing at their best. We also got this bit of news, telling us that we have developed 89 players for the Welsh Premier League. Thats pretty decent
  13. Whoah, we're halfway there! Whoooah, livin' on a prayer! Suddenly we are dominating the giants. Surely we will advance now?!
  14. Is this the breakthrough year? We are unbeaten after 3 games in the CL, having beaten Anderlecht and gotten a draw against Arsenal and Juventus. We massively outplayed Arsenal and Juve, and was very unlucky to not get 3 points! 5-0 in clear cut chances against Arsenal, such bad luck
  15. Season 23 2039/2040 League Table | Transfers | Season Review Dafabet Welsh Premier League 18 in a row. Unbeaten with 5 draws. Cup runs 1 of 2. Lost the Welsh Cup semi-final, which stopped our streak in that tournament at 9 straight wins. Champions League Fixtures We beat AIK from Sweden in the CL play-off, and drew a group of Real Madrid, Shakthar and AC Milan. It was a thoroughly outmatched, and ended up with only 1 point. The one point was a nice one though, a 1-1 draw at home against the spanish giants. At some point we need a lucky draw, maybe get the turkish team from the 1-seed group, and a beatable team from the 3-group. Youth Setup: Youth Intake Seemingly a good intake. A 5-star rated right winger, who needs to be retrained. However, I've noticed a trend of players overperforming the star-rating from the last few intakes and some of the best rated players have underperformed, which has opened my eyes toward not giving to much stock to the initial star rating. Jordan Jones 22B which was 4-star rated in the last intake, now suddenly looks to be a beast, and has improved like crazy. Him and Matthew Rees 18A will be a great pairing up top for quite some time. Big Fat Goalie Challenge: Dave Owen 14B - 58 Goals. 4 this season, 1 free kicks. Another down season for Davey. 4 goals is disappointing, but to be fair he did miss 2 months. Danny Roberts Challenge The aim in this Challenge is to get a player to score 1000 goals during his career, national team goals count. Most goals: Huw Price 4A - 447 goals in 669 games. 2 goals in 10 games this season. The legend decided to call it quits on an amazing career after this season, his attributes were declining rapidly, and he didn't want to play at any other club than his belowed Haverfordwest. Now that his last game is played I'm sure the board has already commisioned the world's greatest sculpteur to make him a gigantic statue outside the stadium. Jacob Davies 10D - 391 goals in 354 games. Has left the club, so wont add to this. He was a big contributer to getting Burnley promoted to the PL last year. This season he started 29 PL-games and scored 7. He is really making us proud. Matthew Rees 18A - 241 goals in 212 games. 57 goals in 42 games this season. A great season which was cut short by a late 3-month hamstring injury. He was unhappy for a brief time in the january-window, but his love for Haverfordwest quickly overcame his desire for a bigger league. Semi-Interesting stuff After the season I saw a very promising development. Several of the other teams started buying players from outside the country, which hasn't happenedd before. TNS sometimes brought in some free transfers from England in the early years, but it's been quite some time since the last transfers from abroad. Bangor City lead the way, and brought in 3 players from Ireland and Northern Ireland who all had international experience, from the senior team or u-21. They bought an amazing looking striker, Shane Murray, and it seems that they will be favourite for the 2nd spot this year.
