Just dropping by to say thank you for this inspirationnal thread. I've been using your strategies (with a 442) in my youth academy challenge in Belgium. First season we're predicted to finish 14th (out of 16), and we don't have enough players to fill out the match sheet, but I should qualify for the promotion playoffs. Goals are hard to come by, but the defense is great.

Really inspiring thread!
What do you think is key for getting that much penetration without attacking duties? Specific ppms? Or do the Arsenal players have certain jey attributes? Off the ball? Teamwork? Something else?

Nice Job @seb1083. I would have agreed with you! It's a risky way to play but if your team are capable and play well on the day it can work very nicely. Will be interesting to see, but I expect the better sides more solid and with clinical finishers will be a bit much, unless you're able to invest well in the Summer.
Well, I guess you were right ;-) First draw against Liverpool was a bit lucky, next two games were logical results. But the last 3 defeats taste bitter. I deserved a draw in all 3 of them. PSG scored at the 80th minute, Benfica at the 89th...
I guess some of my youngsters were not ready for CL football (at least against 2 of the best teams in the world). Maybe in 2 or 3 years.

End of season 1 review, playing with the 235 version in Anderlecht. This went surprisingly well. We won the domestic double, plus the Euro Cup II, beating Tottenham in the final. I thought I would get crushed in that game playing with such an adventurous tactic, but the opposite happened. I'll see how it goes the next season in the CL.

Hi. I'm testing another version of the 343 diamond that I created. Ran a quick 10 games test with Ajax.
Domestically, it's quite effective, and I'm dominating most games (as I should). I don't know how to upload clips, but some of the goals are really a joy to watch.
In Europe, it's more complicated. I'm not getting blown out (the scores don't reflect the reality of the game, and are a bit harsh), but I'm having a hard time creating quality chances like in the league.
If anyone wants to try it. There are no individual instructions.
OI : press the entire backline, and show the wide players to their wrong foot (left to right, right to left).
Now I'm starting my first real save at Anderlecht. I'll report back in a few days / weeks.
Cheers.

Hi!
I've been playing with this tactic (or at least the version with the 2 MEZs published in your other thread) for the last week in my Youth Academy Challenge save. Currently in the first year where I took over South Shields. Predicted to finish 19th.
We actually managed to win the league (Vanarama North). I have to say that I was probably lucky, as the analytics say I should have won 15 points less than I did, and finished 5th. But that still would have been an acomplishment with the players that I have. Needless to say there aren't that many Cruyffs running around in Vanarama North...
So the tactic can work even with a mediocre team, if you pick your players carefully. The football played can be beautifull. But, as Crusadertsar mentionned, it's not one for the faint hearted, certainly if, like me, you don't change formation against teams playing with 2 or 3 strikers.
So, congratulations to the creator of this beauty, and I can't wait to get my ass kicked in the Vanarama National League.

I have tried the 343 tactic in a test save on Touch. Was working quiet well before the update, but after it, I found that I created far less chances. Have you experienced the same thing in your Sociedad save ? Have you found a workaround ?

Glad to see someone succeed with this system. I've been trying to replicate it myself, without much success. I'm really curious to see what kind of adjustments you make to make it more stable defensively.

Hi everyone.
Just dropping by to say a big thank you to dcayton9. I began using these principles during the FM23 beta, and for the first time since FM16 or 17 I've been able to create my own tactics... and still be successfull. I created a 4231 and a 442 during the beta, playing in the VLN, and I have now started my proper save (a youth academy challenge) with Tubize in the belgian 3rd division. Playing in a low block 433, we managed to get promoted (media prediction 12th).
A big thank you for giving me back the joy of playing this game and being able to create my own sensible tactics.
