  1. So I've played three saves so far with a strategy heavily emphasizing on youth. I promote potential players to the first team squad as soon as they pop up from the youth academy, put them in mentoring groups and start bringing them on as subs as early as 16 or 17 year olds. At the end of the season I promise the squad to give more chance to youth. My aim is to gradually give them more and more minutes to develop them, and when the more experienced players are sold / their attributes start decreasing over time, these youngsters are ready to be first team players.

What happens next is that I try to renew the players' contracts, and unless considered star players or important players, their agents refuse to enter contract negotiations without a promise of the player being loaned out. I have to make that promise, and the player is listed for loan.

I then start getting loan offers from lower league clubs, despite having no intention to letting them go, so they become unhappy, lose confidence in me and start demanding transfers. When discussing with them, I have the following options:
    - Telling them that there was something wrong with the offer and promising to loan them out later.
    - Telling them to shut up.

In the first case they expect to get a loan move later, and become unhappy when I won't allow that. In the second case they become unhappy for their treatment. My third option would be to promise them a crazy amount of playing time and deal with their unhappiness when that doesn't happen.

Nowhere is the option not to promise them a loan out with a realistic squad role for a 17-year-old or convince them in the chat that there will be appearances for them.

I now have a squad with six unhappy teenagers who have lost confidence in me despite making 10-20 substitute appearances and a few starts a season. This is my third save, each with a different club, and this has happened with every single one of them, so there really seems to be fault in the system in general.
