  1. What I've taken from this song is that She Lions is a better nickname for the women's team than Lionesses
  2. Think he was fortunate to be called up tbh. They're not going to get a match fit Lukaku at this competition anyway.
  3. They've got quite a few who have only just made it back in time, and some without any matches. Romero, Dybala, Paredes, Di María off the top of my head. At least two of those would start normally, and I think he'd pick Paredes too
  4. At the beginning it sounds like they're singing the Diddy + Skylar Grey track Coming Home - a completely different song
  5. Stolen after watching this, where the question was asked (albeit phrased differently and referencing a specific goal):
  6. I voted SF because I think the draw will open up for them again. R16 should be a win, even if Holland somehow come 2nd. But there's something about France, even with Mbappé and Benzema, where I can see them coming 2nd or not getting past R16. And in that scenario there's another clear route to a SF
  7. Based on what I've seen, something like: E Martínez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Tagliafico; Di María, De Paul, Paredes, Rodríguez; Messi, Lautaro Martínez Unsure about rightback, that's seemed interchangeable. And I don't know who he's going to use to replace Lo Celso. He filled a kind of unique role as a left midfielder that can play inside. Like Matuidi for France and Juve a few years ago.
  8. He seems like a Luis Enrique midfielder so is a bit surprising
  9. Luis Enrique didn't pick him for the Euros when he raced back from injury, so although not officially retired he is until the coach changes. Like De Gea
  10. Totti's penalty against Australia is one of the best I've seen, under that pressure knowing you'll be playing 30 mins with 10 men if you miss.
  11. Really like that Portugal squad. Don't have much faith in them going deep though, despite probably having the best collection of players for years.
  12. Is Walker actually fit? He's not played for ages and might not play at all before the World Cup. Feels like that's a big call
  13. His level isn't as high as it was last season, but he's been better than Maguire and Dier from what I've seen of them this season. Maguire has credit in the bank from past England games but judging from his last couple of England appearances, I think he's starting to bring club form to international level now. Tomori's problem is he isn't very good on the ball, and the guys he's taking are either very good, or at the very least better than him. I don't think Coady or Dier are better defenders, but if you want to build from the back they're better options
  14. France have played a back three quite a lot since the Euros, so I assume that's why Deschamps is taking the extra central defenders.
  15. You know Ronaldo will be 100% aware of this record as well, and will be chasing it at all costs. The flailing arms and frustration until he gets his goal will be on display
  16. Rodrygo mainly plays on the right for Real Madrid, so I'm assuming he's in the squad for that role with Antony, Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus
  17. Luis Enrique is doing great with Spain but they remind me of Italy with their struggle to score goals. No real outstanding attacker. They averaged 70+% possession in the Nations League and looked a bit laboured at times. And they've not got very good defenders to keep teams out. Rely on that 25% possession to the opposition not being particularly dangerous
  18. I think Holland lack a bit of talent. Particularly in attack. You need a difference maker. I know I said Argentina don't have the best squad or even XI on paper, but they've still got guys all over the place that can make a difference. I don't really see that with Holland. I think this tournament is too early for the players most likely to be those candidates. Lang and Gakpo need to kick on a bit, probably move to a better league.
  19. Have thought Argentina for a while and not seen anything from anyone else to change that. Not got the most talent on paper, but they're a good team that know their roles. They've also got an easier draw than others - you'd take a Holland QF all day long really. They need Messi to play well but he's been in good form all year
  20. The security for this must be insane. Would love to know what level of personnel have been deployed. You've got so many world leaders there that they've probably got armed officers as far as the eye can see
  21. Instead of abolishing the monarchy we should be more focused on trying to abolish the police force and replacing them with competent, semi-intelligent individuals.
