[Whats the best database for english lower league?]

Hey hows it going guys? was hoping for some advice regarding how to set up a lower league database. I just want to go down to the national level.

I can manage a pretty big database, but is it worth to load up other big nations outside the uk before reaching league 1? or how do you go about it?

Also, i wanted to know when loading a big database how many seasons go by before you start noticing the performance slowing down?
