Even with the Gulf Player Fix file I haven't been able to counter it that much. Funnily enough by programming in Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal's transfer ban last year (only lasted until winter 2022) I delayed it by a few months, lol, but the exodus is real and starts as soon as they can. It seems to be a fundamental issue with how the AI handles its squad given how quickly they turn them into "surplus to requirements". So even controlling their transfer behaviour would be a band-aid I think, we need to somehow convince them that keeping a solid stable of domestics is crucial in its own right.

How does it work in places like Malaysia or India that has the same disparity between the foreign and local talent? Surely you could make it work the same as that?

Can you give me some examples of IF's who are on course  to score 20 goals this season please and I'll test against these and see what their rates are in the game at the moment.

In general scoring 20 goals a season is fairly rare at the top level for all but the very best players imho, for instance irl at the half-way point of the season only 5 players have 10 goals or more ..

PS - If you're looking for a 'scoring' IF in the game then as in the real-word you'll be looking for someone who is fairly selfish and a good finished, preferably a better finisher than a passer ... also consider double checking their preferred moves, someone who can take first time shots and such will be more effective than someone who can't etc.

Hi, just wanted to offer my opinions on this one.

There's a couple ways of looking at the goal outputs of Wingers / Inside Forwards. It is important to point out that for Inside Forwards to be top scorers generally the play has to be based around them with the Central Striker as a more supporting role, i.e. Liverpool's Defensive Forward or Napoli's False 9. Going strictly off of the English Premier League, there's normally an amount of Inside Forwards who score the most goals for their respective team, if you look just outside the top 5 scorers, there's a breadth of such players:

Then there's last season, where the two top scorers (three if you include CR7) were Inside Forwards. There should be the option for an Inside Forward to score a bunch of goals, but it really works on a team-by-team basis.

    Which AV do  you use?

McAfee. I tried to disable it but it wasn't having it. It was pretty sure there was a virus even though there wasn't one.

Had to have a friend download it for me and send it via whatsapp. And of course, that worked.

Great insights, @UnitedJoshdom. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

I don't know if he was part of your research (or if he was researched by the South American researchers), but Samson Akinyoola is already starting well in Caracas, he really looks like a very promising player!

I plan to run a save in Africa in this FM22, waiting for some league packs to have a more comprehensive view of clubs. I think it will be great to ask you some questions, if you dont mind.

I'm working on a modpack with a couple of guys for this year. I'll post it here when it comes out.

Yeah, feel free to ask away, public or in DMs. I don't mind either way.

Im glad to hear it and kinda "meet" the oficial reasearcher @UnitedJoshdom. Thank you for your work and the efforts to take the african research into the level it deserves.

Would love to hear more on your insights about the club (clearly they are doing something positive there) and the african research as a whole, will check the other threads.

And feel free to tell us about new hidden gems that only you should know!

    One name: Collins Shichenje.

Horoya? They're a good team. Allmost guarenteed to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League, have a good core squad, much better than any other team in Guinea and probably the best team in West Africa. They've got a good amount of money and do well at managing to keep their players in the country instead of moving to North Africa or anywhere else.

Had another trip in Africa and found a few other names. Sorry for the screenshots on a different language.

Theres something going on at HOROYA AC (Guinea-Bissau) and I can say that I like it:

I take responsibility for the 'goings on' at Horoya. I was the one who gave them the ratings this year.

Hello everybody! I checked the database for myself for duplicates, I attach a file with a list of duplicates I found. I checked the players and staff in all leagues presented in the sporadicsmiles database.

There is a section "possible duplicates" in which I put those who have different dates of birth.

    duplicates.txt 25.37 kB · 2 downloads

Duplicates and players aren't created by sporadic for the file, they're created by the SI team ourselves. I'm a researcher so I can delete the duplicates from our database in time for FM22. Thanks for making a list! We went through duplicates our side a while back. I can imagine we've already found many of them, but it's always interesting to see if we've missed any.

I don't think that SI has african researchers at all. In the previous version, the ratings were much more accurate, now they just seem to be set randomly. Only the positions are accurate

Hello Designman, as an assitant researcher I can clarify for you who holds the position of researcher for Morocco atm.

The head researcher for Africa is a guy called Blue Lou. He's on these forums if you want to contact him about anything. He's a busy guy however, as he alone is responsible for over 35 countries.

There is a person who is set to the Moroccan league specifically but he has been inactive since February. There is also someone else who is registered to just Raja Casablanca who hasn't been active since January. If you have enough interest, and valid sources, I would recommend contacting Blue Lou and asking to become an assistant researcher yourself. It's not as difficult as you'd think.

p.s. doubt any of this breaches NDA but I'll leave names out of this.

Amazing work @UnitedJoshdom. Looks to me like FM ought to bring you on as a researcher, you've done amazing work here!

I've actually just recently been taken on as a researcher. Assistant researcher for a few countries in Africa.

I've been doing some balancing and some finishing touches for teams in DR Congo. I've also started doing a couple teams from Zambia. Seems like the next natural step: Borders DR Congo, have transfers between them, about the same in quality and coefficient. I've been busy with stuff outside FM so I haven't had the time to do much but I have managed to put together a squad for one of the smaller teams.

@UnitedJoshdom. I will take care of incorporating the player and league changes you have provided to the files I already have. If it means I have to manually go through to make sure everything is added that is fine, I had figured I would have to do that a little bit anyway. This is a perennial problem when combining different editor files. They never work quite the way you expect. My plan is to take your file and to completely add it into the two that already exist. I just have not had the time to get started on it yet.

I edited a few things from your leagues changes file that I downloaded from here. I have a file which undoes the team creations and  changes some general rules for the Linafoot.

What I would recommend doing is: Create a backup of your editor data and then add my changes to the backup. If the files are merged safely then continue with editing on the backup. I also have more changes to my personal file i can set a link for you to download.

  11. A few issues with the Congo side of the DB:

The Congolese Cup doesn't play in the first season. I'm not sure if it plays at all.

There are 2 teams called RC Kinshasa: One of them plays in Linafoot and the other plays in the lower leagues.
The one in the lower leagues has a higher reputation.

Only 1st place gets Champions League football. Only 2nd gets Confederation Cup.
IRL 1st and second get Champions League whereas 3rd and 4th get Confed.

There should only be 2 relegation places, not 3.

That's just stuff I can't fix myself. Stuff like stadiums and reputations I can fix myself.

    Edit:

Just been checking through your editor files:
Because you've deleted the old league and created a new league, it means that when I start a save,
as I've made changes to the default league in my editor data, it means that the league is duplicated,
but only your new one plays. This messes up some things with the second tier and means there are
two tiers in Congo with equal reputation.

I'm gonna go into my FM editor and change it back myself, to stop that from happening.

Ah of course, that makes sense. Merging files is a possibility, but is usually not advised.

I wish I knew more about merging. I'm assuming it would use the most recently added data if it receives 2 edits of the same player. I guess all I can do for now with those players is give over my data and have sporadic (or who else has access to the main file) edit it himself.

I've also talked to the chief editor at SI for Africa and gotten on board with him. I'll ask him about whether you guys could work with the official researchers for those countries to get the database legitimised and see what happens from there.

Edit: ...provided you aren't already. And they probably already know about you.

  13. I don't know how helpful this is, but if you have accurate enough information on the teams, you could send it to SI themselves.

The head researcher for Africa is a guy called Blue Lou, and there's also Lukafanzer who contributes too.

Also, I found the entire squad for FC Renaissance, updated to March 2020. It's on their French language team page on wikipedia. My editor data  is accurate up to September 2019 (c. the start of the game) and a couple players have left (Yannick Tusilu and Zoumana Sidibe) and the manager too. I only found accurate DOBs for 8 of the players. Also, Jeremie Basilua plays for them but he's not set to them in the DB. My last resort to find the last DOBs (trust me, it was VERY difficult to find what I found) would be to message one of the half a dozen FB pages the club has.

    Updates will continue to come.

Edit: I only posted the update publicly to show that I could. I'll send it across privately when I got more to show.
