  1. Because it indeed is a proud London club that deserves better than League 2. And Dean Cox was one of my favourite players in Football Manager, what has happened to him? This was our theme for the season: And we did it. Leyton Orient's best ever season points-wise. The original squad was lacking in depth, so I brought in some free players for the future and also for tutoring purposes. Loan players Andre Dozzell and Kaylen Hinds played especially well. Managed to get Dozzell on loan from Ipswich in January to help our promotion push and especially his set pieces were excellent. In the original squad nobody can take corners or free kicks. Sandro "decisions 5" Semedo was a pleasant surprise on the left wing. 8 goals, 13 assist, 5 MoM. Unfortunately he still has Balanced personality although being tutored and is still very much a work in progress. Ulrich Nnomo was a major flop. He had a very promising pre-season and I had high hopes for him but he only managed to score once in 13 league matches. Jordan Bowery started the season well but then just suddenly lost his ability to score. Same thing happened to Jay Simpson. Alex Cisak had a solid season and got a two-year contract extension. Tom Parkes and Matthew Upson formed a decent (although painfully slow) central defensive pairing. Our tactic was a copy of Herne79's 442 with a mad twist. Most of the times the starting point was Defensive Structured. Because the DLF didn't drop deep I had to play him at the AM strata. For League 1 we have to strengthen the squad in certain positions. Jens Janse played well at right-back but he has certain flaws in his game (determination 4, aggression 6). Still unsure whether he deserves a new contract. We also need a striker. Kaylen Hinds' contract with Arsenal is up but I'm afraid he will attract interest elsewhere. Jay Simpson just does not deserve a new contract. Niklas Jokelainen is very promising youngster. He signed from Stoke on a free transfer and upped his personality to Resolute with no tutoring(!) Already better than Ulrich Nnomo but not ready for a key role. So it seems that the Orient Express is finally back on track. At least for a while.
  2. Very nice series. Especially because the majestic Murray Wallace seems to be the first name on the team sheet.
  3. What is the amount of first team games when a youth player "has a role in the first team and cannot be tutored" ?
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have got the impression that team talks don't mean nothing. Even Cleon has said that he always lets his Assman handle team talks and press conferences.
  5. Thanks for your answer. The thinking behind Britton's anchor role was that he wouldn't be the main playmaker but more like Busquets at Barcelona, playing short simple passes. If Britton was DLP-D for example would you use another playmaking role in the CM positions? I chose Highly Structured mainly because I want them to keep it simple. Maybe I should try more fluid shape, but I want the opposition to concentrate on me not the other way round. How did you set up the wide midfield roles in your 4141?
  6. So I bought the new Football Manager and tried to play the Swansea Way. And of course failed miserably once and again, the highlights being 0-4 home defeats to Huddersfield and Sunderland. Inspired by both of Cleon's Art of Possession and the Back to Basics by Herne, I created a possession tactic using defensive mentality: Highly Structured / Defensive Retain Possession, Push Higher Up, Roam From Positions, Close Down Much More The possession numbers have been good, usually around 60% but it seems like possession for the sake of it. We can't create any clear cut chances and the shots on target percentage is far from the 50% Cleon always mentions. When the striker or the winger gets the ball, he usually just dribbles until he loses it and nobody is making forward runs, not even the CM Attack. Defensively we keep making stupid mistakes and sometimes it seems they are not even trying. All in all, the system reminds of Aitor Karanka's Middlesbrough in real life. No penetration at all and very poor defending. How to make Swansea great again?
  7. How good is Lyon's Mouctar Diakhaby in the game? I'm sure he's criminally underrated. First choice central defender over former FM legend Emanuel Mammana in real life.
  8. Been there done that. If the fullback is for example "right only" footed. When he has space to cross with his better foot, he doesn't do that. Instead he desperately dwells on the ball and hoofs it straight to the opponent players with his WEAKER foot. Happens all the time.
  9. What happens when you try to think like Cleon and do some analysis: http://s11.postimg.org/nrst9qigh/lose.jpg and what happens when you just put some roles and think nothing: http://s28.postimg.org/ou49xvn1n/1_3.jpg The conclusion:
  10. Cleon how you analyze the first three matches. Do you still watch the first 15 minutes in full match or the whole match in full.
  11. Is Humam "Not quite human" Tariq any good in this version. Was one of the greatest youngsters at Fm15.
  12. Name: Sanaa Altama Age: 24 Nationality: French/Chad Club: Unattached Position: MC natural, DMC accomplished Value: NA Signed for: Scunthorpe Wages: 1.1k/week Work Permit Needed?: Not Solid squad player with good determination. Can pass a ball too.
  13. I am too stupid for this game. How to watch matchs properly in full match and spot something?. Or maybe its just my concentration if i was a Football manager player my concentration would be 1. So. How to spot them spaces like Cleon spots in full match. I just cant see nothing or, if i see some space, I dont know how to exploit it. Or how to deal with the computers crossing. Last match played football manager. Oldham 6-1 Scunthorpe. Enough is enough.
