Haringey Borough - Youth Intake and Youth Review Season 8
Not a wonderful intake, worth weighing using our money to improve facilities instead of trying to go pro early.
SpoilerJohnson 08a has no physicals to speak of unfortunately, even if his other attributes look strong.
SpoilerI'm more excited by Narine 08b who has a good physical base to work with. The PA seems to be low and there are questions about his personality however.
Youth Update
Class of 2024
Brian Inglis - We can no longer see his attributes, but he's been tearing up Australia's non-league.
Class of 2025
Callum Graham 01a - Has since moved on to the Scottish non-league, but put in a great season this year and could be poised for a move back to a higher division.
Johnny Rea 01b - Still struggling in Northern Ireland's second tier, but at least improved from his 5.53 season in the third tier.
Colin Morgan 01c - Still around the club as a depth piece, a role which he plays well enough.
Kenneth John 01d - (Still) lighting it up in the lower divisons in Nigeria on an amateur contract.
Matthew Freeman 01e - Somehow landed at Carshalton after they got promoted and played against us this year.
Rayon Messam 01j - Our beautiful vice-captain, still outperforming his ratings and a key part of the squad (the magic of having height and good physicals at this level).
Class of 2026
Oliver Smith 02a - Put in a good performance this year for Dulwich Hamlet, wish he would have signed a new deal with us but he's too short to play defense anyways at 5'5".
Paul Banton 02b - Has come back down to earth after posting an 8.10 average rating in the 2030/31 season with Merthyr.
Dylan Wilson 02c - Our captain was committed to not renewing his contract, but got over it and signed a new deal just recently. He never performs great however.
Gonçalo Paulo 02d - A good servant to the club, but he was release and is in Portugal now.
Gregory Griffith 02e - Weirdest career trajectory, he must have really high PA since all these L2 and L1 clubs want him in their youth teams. Has no shot of reaching that potential however.
Ryan Camm 02f - Possibly the best player at the club currently, that size and skill combination is key for us.
Class of 2027
Aaron Porter 03a - Having a pretty disappointing season this year, has often came off the bench as younger talents are more consistent at times.
Kemar Cox 03b - Having a career year on the wing this year, 14 goals and 7 assists in 27 starts so far.
Armando Sargeant 03c - Having a very solid year, but he is in danger of losing his starting spot due to being undersized and the performances of Purrington 04b.
Dean Murray 03d - Has struggled to get playing time with the emergence of Ashimeru 04c and Ross 05b, but hard to argue against his effectiveness when he does play.
Alex Nicholls 03h - Mostly a rotation option who will be phased out next year for the younger kids.
Christian Evans 03i - Having a successful career in the lower divisions at Worthing Utd.
Ivan Molina 03k - Can't argue with going from a 5.83 rating to a 7.80 in one season in Spain.
Thomas Badu 03m - Somehow putting in worse performances in lower leagues.
Class of 2028
Ammar Al-Kindi 04a - Having a breakout year to supplant Porter 03a as the striker option. Who cares about 3 finishing when you're tall and fast. Yet to score for UAE however.
Jonathan Purrington 04b - Most unlikely breakout season, but a 7.32 average rating from a left back is impressive. Poor technicals but he's tall and fast, sensing a pettern here.
Razark Ashimeru 04c - Attributes have been skyrocketing this season and is a key player now.
Yannick Ongenda 04d - Backup GK, hasn't played a minute.
Colin Chaney-William 04e - A 5.62 rating for Poole is brutal.
Robin Hamilton O'Hara 04f - Giving Greenwich solid minutes since leaving us.
Ryan Firth 04g - Not to be outdone by a 5.50 rating for Poole.
Luke Evans 04h - Still kicking around the U21s on a month-to-month contract. He can be an emergency option in the first team and has a F. Pro personality to mentor the youth so don't mind keeping him around for cheap.
Vaughan Southernwood 04i - Has played well on loan this season, so will likely keep him around in a role similar to Evans 04h.
Vaughan Love 04j - Good for him, actually having a solid year for Leverstock Green.
Class of 2029
Ally Paterson 05a - Serviceable first choice fullback. He gets lots of assists and doesn't play defense, but is good enough for our team.
Josh Ross 05b - Has had a very impressive season bombing forward from center mid. If we played more than 1 striker, it would be interested to see how much he would score up top, but I'm more than happy with his performances currently.
Alex Mehmet 05c - Has got enough minutes to give him the tools to improve. If he doesn't take a large enough step forward next year, his minutes will start to go to younger prospects.
Jaxon Headley 05d - Had him getting first team minutes, but eventually decided to loan him out to help reach his potential. I like the vision of him if he can get those attributes up.
Niklas Kunert 05e - Must be another one with crazy PA if Crewe's youth team picked him up.
Reeco Worrell 05f - Took over the starting spot and hasn't let up. No longer a Model Citizen, but can be our GK for the next 5-6 years.
Morgan Brady 05g - Confusing prospect, looks so good but performs so poor and can't do it on loan in the Welsh second tier.
Peter Mutero 05h - Having a very good loan spell, but needs to show something more than that PA to ever get into the first team and, at 20, time is running out.
Michael Oladapo 05i - Some truly horrendous attributes and questions over his potential, only still here for the F. Pro personality.
Fadi Ghnayem 05l - Has made 3 appearances for Palestine so that's fun.
Class of 2030
Ian McGurk 06a - Will be loaned out now to hopefully spur his development, he still can reach that potential but doesn't have the first team minutes yet.
Laurent Joynes 06b - Has played well when called upon and is developing nicely. Concerns over his PA, but he's playing his way into more minutes right now.
Emmanuel Kuffour 06c - Doesn't really deserve the minutes he's gotten this year, so will likely put him in the U21s next year and find another depth midfielder to call up.
Denis Uka 06d - Not showing it for us yet, maybe a loan spell next year will unlock his potential.
Arbnor Duraku 06e - The fellow Kosovar also needs a loan spell to unlock something, although I'm more encouraged by his development so far.
Robert Evans 06f - Too early to judge a GK really.
Charlie Vint 06g - Still love the personality, but the development is just not there.
Class of 2031
Alisan Can 07a - Thrust into a first team role immediately, he has performed very solidly. Would like his development to have less red arrows overall, but can't complain yet.
Jerry Williams 07b - Another recent grad who has made his way into the first team squad. Developing nicely and performing fine as well.
Domenic Morten 07c - I mean he scored 17 and assisted 22 for a 7.78 rating in the U18 league this year, probably deserves some first team minutes in place of Kuffour 06c.
Jonny Robinson 07d - Not developing well for his F. Pro personality, needs to turn it around.
Tom Phelps 07e - Would be much more impressive if he wasn't a snail.
Emrah Bas 07f - A shame his PA is so low, because everything about him is great for a 16 year old. Good first team performance, great attributes, and a great Resolute personality.
Matt Gill 07g - May be a sleeper for us, developing nicely in his first season and also has that Resolute personality. Has a long way to go CA wise.

Have been rotating the full First XI with a Second XI against weaker teams to keep everyone fresh and spread around the minutes. Guess which 2 games the Second XI just played

Haringey Borough - Review Season 7
After a run to the playoff semifinals last season, we followed it up with another run to the playoff semifinals. This time around, we sat in the playoff positions all season, but needed a win on the final day to punch our ticket. The squad depth has really begun to build out as the team slowly gets older and new youth emerge. Towards the end of this year, Razark Ashimeru 04c notably put in some good performances and rapidly developed his attributes.
We couldn't improve on last year's run to the FA trophy finals, but did storm through the FA Cup making it all the way to the 3rd round before losing to Southampton. Would have preferred an away tie for the sweet sweet gate receipts. We beat 2 midtable L1 sides on the way in Salford and Lincoln and looked the part in those games.
Top 3 performers:
SpoilerDidn't actually improve any facilities yet, we're good enough to produce players that can win us promotion and I'd rather save the money right now to 1) keep our players on higher wages and 2) turn professional before L2 if necessary
Got 1.2k to let Smith 02a leave a month early.

Haringey Borough - Youth Intake Season 7
Well look at this, we're back and we have an intake. Seems solid, our squad is getting better so the stars look worse than in years past.
SpoilerI like the look of Can 07a as a BPD instead of a midfielder. We're weaker in that position and he's tall enough to do a job aerially. Good personality and PA according to my assistants,
SpoilerWilliams 07b looks like he'll be good depth as a rotation option to play the IF(A) or the AF(A) roles in our team.
SpoilerBas 07f is like a mini-version of Can 07a, will also train him as a BPD. Low potential, but good CA and personality is promising.

It's been nearly a month, but I'm back playing the save again. Will start updating again this week
Spoiler, I didn't. But just booting the game back up and will see if I can recover the magic and try to progress a bit.

Managed to get a badge and a home kit into the game. Unfortunately, it won't let me add an away kit. I tried mapping the kits to other teams and they worked, but only the home kit works mapping to Arsenal Aruba.

SV Arsenal Aruba
I am still enjoying the Haringey save, but I couldn't resist coming back and seeing my Christmas present of the Caribbean leagues courtesy of @V50
I've decided to give it a go in Aruba and thanks to suggestions from @WhiteCat33 I loaded a bunch of leagues across North And South America and Europe to make it a more engaging challenge.
There is no relegation from the second tier in Aruba, so I took the team with the worst record from both groups and landed with SV Arsenal Aruba! Next step is getting some kits and a logo in the game.
The squad right now consists of only two players (both being poached away as we speak), with another six sitting in the reserves from the holiday season intake. It's gonna be a rough first season, but none of the other clubs around the division have full squads, so I imagine we can compete in the league.
We are an Amateur side with the worst possible facilities, so only up from here. Excited to get the ball rolling in CONCACAF again.

Good job @XaW !!!
Now what's the next place on the list...2 -
Very excited to crack this open over the holidays, I loved the FM23 version!

Haringey Borough - Review Season 6
This was the year everything clicked! The lineup was the same, but an extra year of gelling (and finally some green links between players) took our performances up a notch. We had a great midseason run and finished 5th in the league. We won the first round of the playoffs but lost in the semi finals to Wealdstone. It was a tight game and the 3-0 scoreline flattered them. We scored the 4th most goals in the league with 100 and we're a midtable defense with 78 conceded. Surprisingly our average attendance was 8th best at 905. We never used to have good attendance, but being established in the league helped I guess, as does being in the center of London. Next year we'll aim for another promotion push, but we managed to get another year older and I don't mind have more time in the VNS to build our club.
Our midseason form coincided with 2 amazing cup runs. We spent about 500k on training facility upgrades, but made most of it back with cup runs. We managed to draw at home to L1 Wrexham in the FA Cup first round, and followed it up with a narrow 1-0 loss on the road that gave us a ton of money. We we're unlucky to draw the first game to be honest and should have advanced then and there. They scored an injury time goal to tie and we had 2.08 xG. Then the FA Trophy run was even better. We beat 4 VNL sides on our way to the final, which was against a Farnborough side that finished 14th in our division. A lucky draw that we couldn't do enough to make count as we lost on penalties after tying the game up in the 118th minute after sending everyone forward in an all-out attack. We were the better team so it was a tough loss to take when we had made it so close. Ultimately, we won 3 shootouts to make it that far and couldn't win the 4th.
Top 3 performers:
Spent a ton on training facility upgrades, but still looking healthy. Our wage budget is still low, but we can't afford any more youth recruitment upgrades until we get promoted or else the club will hemorrhage money.
Got 1.2k to let Smith 02a leave a month early.

Haringey Borough - Youth Intake and Youth Review Season 6
Now this one isn't as good as our last couple, although we did pick up our first Dane.
SpoilerYouth Update
Class of 2024
Brian Inglis - Seems to be enjoying the Queensland Premier League in Australia,
Class of 2025
Callum Graham 01a - Managed to stay at the VNN level and has played 33 matches for Basford who will be relegated back out of the playable leagues.
Johnny Rea 01b - Averaging a 5.53 in the second tier of Northern Ireland is rough.
Colin Morgan 01c - He's a solid BWM and we don't ask him to do much more. Has put in some good performances on the pitch and in training.
Kenneth John 01d - Lighting it up in the lower divisons in Nigeria on an amateur contract.
Matthew Freeman 01e - Gloucester took him off our non contract deal, and he's not performed great.
Rayon Messam 01j - Continues to be the most unlikeliest of heroes, but he's gonna win fans player of the season with double digit goals and assists and a 7.44 rating in all comps.
Class of 2026
Oliver Smith 02a - Still committed to leave on a free after this season. I hope he reconsiders, but we have 2 young left backs behind him waiting for the chance to breakout.
Paul Banton 02b - Left the youth teams at Worthing to play for Merthyr.
Dylan Wilson 02c - World class mentals and not much else. We had to fork out lots of money to keep him at the club, but he's under contract for 2 years now.
Gonçalo Paulo 02d - Underhwelming when he did get a chance, will be released this June.
Gregory Griffith 02e - We can't see his attributes since he's all the way up in L1 now playing for Blackpool's youth teams after leavign Southend's youth teams.
Ryan Camm 02f - Developed quite well in spite of his personality; averaging a 7.02 from center back helps. He's scored 10 goals in all comps this season just from corners with the 6'5" height and 18 jumping reach.
Class of 2027
Aaron Porter 03a - Must be near his PA, since no bigger teams are interested in him despite scoring another 20 goals this season.
Kemar Cox 03b - Also seems close to his PA, since his attributes have stayed the same this season despite good training and good performances (7.11 rating in the league).
Armando Sargeant 03c - Looks to pick up where SMith 02a left off next season.
Dean Murray 03d - He was this level when he came through the intake, so must have no PA since a Resolute personality + >7.20 performances in the league would have seen some development by now.
Deno Jeffers 03e - Playing way down the English ladder now.
Alex Nicholls 03h - Good partner to Camm 02f, but I'm hoping a new kid can supplant him, since he's stopped developing technically and his physicals still aren't great.
Calvin Swift 03l - Still think he's much better than my assistants give him credit for, but hard to find any minutes in our deep midfield.
Thomas Badu 03m - Not getting any better, so we'll let him go.
Class of 2028
Ammar Al-Kindi 04a - Won't improve at all with that personality, but has been playing well enough to get rotation minutes.
Jonathan Purrington 04b - Will benefits from more backup minutes when Smith 02a leaves.
Razark Ashimeru 04c - Really like the look of him, has gotten the majority of the backup minute sin midfield this year.
Yannick Ongenda 04d - Has been rotating with Worrell 05f and will continue to do so until one of them takes that step forward.
Robin Hamilton O'Hara 04f - Really need those physicals to improve.
Luke Evans 04h - Has finally shown signs of improvement, but we're thin in defense so he will keep his rotation place for now.
Vaughan Southernwood 04i - Been fine in backup minutes and I still like his potential, if he can reach it.
Class of 2029
Ally Paterson 05a - Ignore the red arrows, he's actually developed fine this year and had a high floor. Unfortunately, it looks like his potential isn't really there.
Josh Ross 05b - Got a chunk of minutes this year and is looking decent.
Alex Mehmet 05c - Another 16 year old who's played a ton this year, but hasn't put it together yet.
Reeco Worrell 05f - Has been the first choice of our rotating GKs and has played ok for a 17 year old GK.
Peter Mutero 05h - Our lack of defensive depth meant he was an unlikely candidate for rotation minutes and played ok. He's tall and can jump, so that's all I need for center backs.

It might be to do with my facilities/staff but:
Is anyone else seeing no development in their players technical attributes? And even in some cases pure reduction?
Like, their mentals grow a lot and their physicals, but their technicals just aren't growing. Some of my players have declined technically, but I just chalk it up to basic training facilities, being semi-pro, and poor coaches. If you think about it, these kids are going from top-of-the-line junior coaching and better facilities as youths (assuming you've gotten some upgrades in), to worse facilities, with worse coaching, training twice a week. I really don't expect them to grow much technically, but they can become more experienced mentally and develop physically with age no matter how poor my training situation is.
Here's one of my 19 year olds who has been training as a BWM. As you can see, his technicals have barely improved with the exception of his marking. And that's with only Marking and Tackling being focused on in training for his entire career. But he's grown mentally and physically because he's played 130 games of senior football. There's also the issue that some players just don't have the PA to improve that much technically. As you upgrade more and more junior coaching, the gap between CA and PA narrows since your youth are more technically advanced than their predecessors. It's natural that they just don't have that much more improvement left.

Did I sign a 19 year old recently released from Lowestoft to become my assistant coach, yes. Did I unsuccessfully try to get him to be my HOYD, also yes.

Are we bankrupting the club, maybe, but we aren't losing money at the moment so it seems worth an upgrade.

Haringey Borough - Review Season 5
Another year, another mid table finish... surely this can't be the third straight season I've said that. This one was closer to the playoff spots than we've been all save with exception of that inaugural campaign. The young players are developing nicely and their performances are finally starting to reflect that. Hoping for a playoff run in our future and building a professional squad that can mentor poor players effectively.
FA Cup run was great, didn't quite get to the first round proper but managed to take Layton Orient to a second leg. Losing in the first round of the FA Trophy when the opponents went down to 10 men after 13 mins and we conceded in the 90+2 minute was embarrassing.
Top 3 performers:
Made 100k due to cup runs. I'm still wary to upgrade youth recruitment and would rather upgrade our facilities that don't increase youth setup monthly expenses as much.
Nothing in, let many guys on non contracts leave.

Haringey Borough - Youth Intake and Youth Review Season 5
Been out of town for the past week, but finally back on my monitor large enough take good screenshots for updates. This is a good intake punctuated by exceptional personalities throughout. I've been really aggressive with remodeling the squad with good personalities, and these guys will help. I will try to give the Model Citizen GK all the starts next season since he's not half bad as of now.
SpoilerSpoilerYouth Update
Class of 2024
Brian Inglis - A fantastic servant to the club with over 150 appearances to his name. However, we have prospects behind him with more potential and I do want to cull the squad of poor personalities so I don't plan on renwing his contract,
Class of 2025
Callum Graham 01a - Was complaing about lack of first team minutes, so I loaned him out to Scotland midseason. Probably also will not get another contract.
Johnny Rea 01b - A 3 year starter at RB despite his shortcomings (namely 5 acceleration). Will lose his starting spot next season, but I'll probably keep him around for cover for one more season. The awful personality might sway my decision however if I'm confident in the rest of our depth at the position.
Colin Morgan 01c - Another 3 year starter whose performances have finally started to improve. I don't think he has much more development in him, but can do a job and has an ok personality.
Kenneth John 01d - Went on loan this year, but hasn't developed at all. Don't plan on renewing his contract as we have younger, better talent coming through.
Matthew Freeman 01e - Has a decent personality, so don't mind keeping him around the club on a non contract to be depth at GK.
Rayon Messam 01j - All the way up to 2 technique. His physicals are still immense and he scored 8 and assisted 7 with a 7.11 rating in the league this season.
Class of 2026
Oliver Smith 02a - One of the better players in the squad now, but has been making noie about wanting to run down his contract that expires at the end of next season. Wouldn't care to see him go as his performances have underwhelmed.
Paul Banton 02b - Couldn't force his way into the first team so he left to join Worthing and play in their youth teams instead.
Dylan Wilson 02c - Impressive mentals and is in line for a breakout performance next season after a few middling ones.
Gonçalo Paulo 02d - Impressed in his limited minutes this season, but is not developing to merit more minutes at a position we are very deep in. Will extend his contract, but he's running out of time to prove it.
Gregory Griffith 02e - At L2 Southend now, but I'll admit I don't see his potential at all.
Ryan Camm 02f - Broke into the first team and played well, but a poor personality and some holes in his game mean I'd really like to see some development.
Class of 2027
Aaron Porter 03a - Developed very well this year and scored 20 goals in the league.
Kemar Cox 03b - Developing nicely and received a senior cap for Barbados (although not when this screenshot was taken).
Armando Sargeant 03c - Part of the reason I wouldn't be sad to see Smith 02a go. Needs to develop more, but does have the Fairy Professional personality.
Dean Murray 03d - Yes, he takes penalties, but he scored a fair few longshots too. Double digit goals and assists and is our best player by a good margin with a 7.26 rating in the league.
Deno Jeffers 03e - I do like him, but without a great personalities and with those low technicals, I can't see him ever making our first team so will let his contract expire.
Alex Nicholls 03h - Solid starter in the defense, has developed a bit this year but would like to see better technicals for next update.
Calvin Swift 03l - Liked the look of his attributes enough to give him 12 starts this year, but it's now clear he just doesn't have the potential and the ability to reach it, so will be binning him back to the youth team next season or letting him go.
Thomas Badu 03m - Similar story here, although we don't have as much depth for defensive midfielders.
Class of 2028
Ammar Al-Kindi 04a - Is going to push me to my limits with the awful personality but solid performances and stats. If he starts negatively influencing the youth, I will get rid of him without question.
Jonathan Purrington 04b - Great personality, but needs to develop. It's hard to get him game time at LB, so I'm hoping he can develop a bit and show me something.
Razark Ashimeru 04c - Performed well when called upon, but hasn't started to develop yet.
Yannick Ongenda 04d - Ok attributes and was the backup GK, but will be replaced by the Model Citizen unfortunately.
Deno Jeffers 03e - I do like him, but without a great personalities and with those low technicals, I can't see him ever making our first team so will let his contract expire.
Alex Nicholls 03h - Solid starter in the defense, has developed a bit this year but would like to see better technicals for next update.

Thomas Badu 03m - Similar story here, although we don't have as much depth for defensive midfielders.
Colin Chaney-Williams 04e - Will have to separate himself in training, since we have too many wingers.
Robin Hamilton O'Hara 04f - Those physicals look like adealbreaker right now.
Luke Evans 04h - Tall and Fairly Professional, so I gave him rotation minutes in the defense. Looks to be improving nicely, but has a ways to go technically.
Vaughan Southernwood 04i - If mentoring can rub off on him next season, I will let Rea 01b go and give this guy the backup minutes.
11 -
Not sure what he was expecting when he agreed to having an optional club extension for 1 year...
In other news, we're ticking off another bingo spot and @WhiteCat33 will be happy about it.

Since you're referencing my post (and I have time this morning) figured I'd respond.
In my view there are 4 points of mentoring, in order of importance:
- Personality & Media Handling Improvement:
- Player Trait Passing:
- Team Cohesion/Groups:
- Secondary Position Learning:
In my understanding, you can mentor any player under 24 through the mentoring groups. The older & more established the player is in the squad, the less likely their hidden personality attributes will change. This is displayed in the mentor window by how much influence the group has on them & they on the group.
Thus, for forming a mentoring group:
- Include 1 Team Leader / Influential Player with a "Good" Personality + Media Handling who is 25+ years old.
- Include Squad players between U24 with close to or at the Good Personality who are at least competent in the Mentors position.
- Include any U20 players in the first team natural at the mentor's position with "Bad" Personalities.
For deciding if I'll mentor a young player I really only bother for bad personalities. If it is a good (but not great) personality like Fairly Ambitious or Fairly Professional I usually do not mentor the player unless there are player traits I want them to learn from the group.
I tend to split this into positional groups: Strikers, Midfielders, Defenders & GKs. The only hard rule I have is GKs mentor together and not with field players.
4 Points of Mentoring
1) For Personality I (like many in the thread) rank the top 3 hidden attributes as: 1 Professionalism ; 2 Ambition ; & 3 Determination. I only prioritize those three and leave the rest to chance. Why? Because those 3 have been shown to influence development the most. I always like to point to this statistical analysis: Ambition, determination & professionalism - FM Stats! The TLDR: For best results you want your youth players to have 15+ professionalism with Det & Ambition of at least 10. The gains above 10 for the secondary HAs is marginal.
Personality and Media Handling Spreadsheet Screenshots
Based on what I found online [Hidden Attribute Revealer - Google Sheets], this is the conversion sheet I'm using for Personalities & Media Handlings. Note: there are multiple cases where specific combinations (usually Determination values) will yield different results, but that's not necessary for having a general idea.
Table is in spoilers for those who don't want to know. When you combine Personality & Media handling you take the highest min & max values to build the new range:
In my current save I'm taking a more "Model Citizen" approach for something different. As I'm in the late-game (20+ seasons) I have the benefit of lots of retired lower league players showing up as coaches, so there are a number of Model Citizens available (even for a minor nation like Barbados). If not Professional/Model Professional is my preference, followed by Resolute/Fairly Professional. Reason you see Balanced coaches is I can't find any good GK or Fitness coaches in the Caribbean so have to resort to poor personalities to have a skilled coach.
My Current Senior Staff:
Current Reserve & Youth Staff:
In this save I've been going for more of a balance between Professionalism & Ambition, with a preference towards Model Citizen coaches when I can find them/keep them even though that is a lower minimum professionalism (15) than Professional (18).
The result I've noticed (compared to other saves) is the emergence of Perfectionist personality players. Usually, I end up developing Model Professionals out of my old players, but in this save I seem to have a lower Professionalism combined with higher Ambition. This has the negative of players are more likely to ask for release clauses & get upset when higher reputation leagues come for them, but so far it's worked out okay for me.
2) Player Trait Passing: I'm sure you know all about this as you'll see the notifications pop up. If you are looking to pass on rare / valuable traits that fit your system without negatively impacting player development this is the way to do it.
In my save this is happening with my strikers. In this save, I decided to go with "Shoots with Power" for my strikers rather an "Placing Shots" because thematically I like the idea of big strong Pressing Forwards smashing the ball in. From a min/max perspective "Placing shots" is almost certainly better. Carrillo learned this and has passed it to both his Perfectionist mentees.
3) Team Cohesion/Groups: The one thing about the YAC that is nice is you never have issues with team cohesion as you don't have to get new players to fit into the existing squad. It is helpful to bring the next generation into the same groups as their position players they are replacing.
4) Position Learning: Being in the same mentoring group will sometimes increase the positions a player is competent at if they are adaptable enough. I honestly don't really pay attention to this, just make sure that the mentee player is at least partially competent in the natural position of the head mentor.
Building Mentor Group:
This gives me a good opportunity to go back through my data. A key point to mention here is in the spoilers the values I am showing are the average of the range that the combination of Personality + Media Handling generates.
Perfectionist: Carrillo & his Strikers
The Road View & Barbados Legend came through at the peak of a Golden Generation, already with his Perfectionist personality.
Naturally he was not mentored by anyone and I waited until he was fully a team leader and would get no impact from mentor groups before I formed his, which has consistently had our top 4 strikers in it for at least 5 years now. This is their current CA/HA:
Romario Nurse & Ackeel Hoyte:
These two arrived together in 2041, both with very high ambition and okay determination. Within 2 years of joining I had formed the Mentor group with Carrillo and he could start rubbing off on them. He made a massive impact rising both Determation to 17, and increased Professionalism enough that then all 3 of the key attributes were over 14 to turn them Perfectionist. [Edit: Remember you just have to pass the min. threshold to turn into the personality, I am showing the average of the range at 17, so most likely these values are closer to 14]
Terence Soares:
Spirited & Resolute: Mars & Croney WB/CMs
Croney & Mars, came through the same Golden Generation, just an intake earlier in 2034. You can see both showed up with pretty good HA, especially Professionalism. Mars was Spirited & Croney was Fairly Professional.
Today
This is incredible! I do think it's much easier to create this sort of controlled environment in smaller nations and countries outside of Europe when you're restricted on not buying players.

Check off one on the bingo card! Not sure we deserved that scoreline. Up to 3 now, but still only a South American away from the youth player from each continent slot.

Haringey Borough - Review Season 4
Another year, another mid table finish, 2 points and 2 goal difference worse than last season. At one point early in the season we were 21st in the table, but 9th in the xG table. It eventually balanced out and our young attack rounded into form. Looking to next year, Dexter Peter will be the only original left at the club, and he's there for mentoring purposes not to play much. Letting Temi Babalola go will be a tough decision, but I figure I'd rather make the team a worse mid table side for a season as a tradeoff for giving our promising youth some first team minutes.
Not a very enjoyable FA Cup run. We got a 9th minute red card in that game and couldn't pull out the victory. FA Trophy was about average. Would like a big cup run for next season, since our youth setup is starting to halt our yearly profit. We just about break even now, so I'm wary of too many more upgrades.
Top 3 performers:
Lost 30k this season, so I'm not going to look for any more youth recruitment upgrades until we make it to the VNL. We have good enough facilities to get promoted in a few season in my opinion.
Nothing in, let a couple of guys on non contracts leave.

Are other people playing in England experiencing the same difficulty hiring staff as I am? I've not been able to hire any staff members outside of the HOYD and Assistant Coach (so no Physios and no youth staff at all, meaning I've had to manage the U18s for the entire save). It's been like this for 4-5 seasons: staff are interested, but the max wage I can offer is well below the expectation of even the worst staff. I am not allowed to offer non contracts to staff, so I can't hire anyone. I've asked the board for increasing max wage for first team staff, but it's still below the min expectation for any medical staff even after 4 years of increases. And there's no option to ask the board for youth team staff wage increases and they aren't tied to the first team increases.

More important than the intake is the bingo card update. The arrival of Narine 08b this season gives us a South American player and compeltes the last of our continents!
