  1. Hello,

I just converted a basic rules package into an advanced one, but when I try to test it, I keep getting this error

    image.thumb.png.12e6729cf6f828ad0d8caa1417180c41.png

For clarity, I have checked. There are promotion/relegation rules in place for both divisions (2 up. 2 down, going to correct division, etc), and both leagues and parent comps use the Flexible Format Rules. Has anyone else had this issue and would be able to help?

  2. Introduction

So, with the start of the 2020-21 season been and gone, and with FM21 right around the corner, I’d thought I’d give FM20 one last hurrah before I switch. So, with help from Dan BHTFC’s excellent England League expansion mod, I’d thought I’d play with a team I grew up around, several members of my family have played for, and one that I really want to see do well - Chadlington FC

    The Club

Chadlington Football Club was founded in 1912, and currently plays in the Witney & District League Division 1. The team plays at Chadlington Sports Club, in the small village of Chadlington, only a few miles outside of the Oxfordshire town of Chipping Norton. The club runs 2 teams, a 1st team, and a reserve side, who play in the W&D Division 3. The team, ever since its inception, has worn blue and white striped shirts, although the reason for this is unknown. After facing troubles in the late noughties with the club shedding players, often having to field sides with no substitutes, a 2011 merger with local side Chad Park, a and return to the W&D after 9 seasons in the Oxfordshire Senior League, saw the club rebound back to it's strengths in the 90's

    The League

The Witney and District Division 1 is made up of 9 teams, 6 1st teams and 3 reserve teams. Teams play each other twice, leading to a 16 game season. Witney Royals are favoured for the league title, after finishing 7th the previous year. Joining the league this year are Minster Lovell, Hailey and Kingham, from Division 2 (after a major Rejig for the W&D League after the 18-19 season), and new side Enstone Sports. No teams were relegated from the Premier Division (again due to the aforementioned shakeup)

    The Pre-Season Schedule

With the actual season not kicking off until September (the league only has 16 games per team and no cup competition), we need quite a few pre-season games to make sure the lads are well prepared for the long season ahead. Therefore, we have 9 pre-season friendlies arranged. We have a good mix of larger and smaller teams, should give the lads a good workout before the season begins. The main tests will be against the Western League's Roman Glass St. George and Wellinborough of the United Counties League. Other than that, I'm hoping for a good record here

    The Squad

After a bit of rejigging (we had a but-ton of youngsters in the 1st team), here is my starting squad. Definitely an area to work on, but we have a couple of weeks to grow out. Sean Doyle (GK) is clearly the best player right now, with only Steven Jackson (DM), Kyle John (DLC) and Jack McKenna (DRL) being up to scratch for the first XI. As I said, work to be done here, but plenty of time to get anything done

    The Tactic

I will be looking to play a 4-1-2-3 Formation, using the Gegenpress concept with my own twist. This tactic has bought me success with underdog teams before (won the Austrian Second Division with SV Ried and bought the RPL to Spartak Moscow after taking over with them hovering just above relegation), so I’m hoping it can bring me success with Chad.

    The Aim

As Las Vegas Raiders ex-owner Al Davis said, 'Just Win Baby'. My aim is to take Chad as far as I can up the league system, and hey, we may even get a few cup runs in as well

  3. PRESEASON

    image.thumb.png.15024af614e179470669751ffba51766.png

Preseason over and done with. Kinda disappointed, but mostly a rotated squad each game, you can't ask for much. Not happy with the cup game, but also didn't expect much as I decided to blood a couple of youngesters. I get SV Horn, a top contender last year in the 2.Liga, in the second round, with expectation being that I reach the Quarters.

    TRANSFERS IN/OUT

    image.thumb.png.ed024ea85c34c44afcefb67948ea5bad.png

Transfer-wise, I'm ok with most of the deals done. A lot of the outs are trying to get my youths out on loan to get match experience, with a couple of first-team players leaving on permanent deals. Souttar was a great get after last season's outstanding form, and I'm hoping Tahvon Campbell can step up off the bench behind Ducker and Gschweidl. The other two are central defenders, as I start to look at building towards the future. Probably looking to get possibly one more deal in, although the bank is pretty much empty from the Souttar deal, plus a load of contracts going up after promotion

    July/August Preview

Not the best stretch of games to start, with a mix of lower table teams and right-up-there teams. Looking to get a few points from this stretch, also get the first look at rivals LASK, as well as fellow relegation candidates WSG Tirol and Wacker Modling (Both are 1000-1 to win the league).

  4. Preseason Scheduele:

    image.thumb.png.fd993c1e8ad15afb892308b6b34e7988.png

A mix of fixtures here. First, you got the big ones in Lyon and Leipzig, which will be difficult. Then you have FC Wacker Innsbruck, who are in the 2.Liga. Finally, you have Chemnitz and Aalen, both in the German Regional Leagues. An interesting start, especially with the OFB Cup match in between these games as well

  5. 2021/2022 Season Preview: Sportvereinigung Ried

SV Ried were the little team that could last season. Many had predicted Wilkinger to be a mid-table team last season, but they, led by First-Year Manager Austin Shula and Austrian 2.Liga Player of the Year Stefan Nutz, were able to shock everyone, winning the 2.Liga over pre-season favourites St. Polten. However, a hard life in the TIPICO Bundesliga awaits the men from Ried. Many people are pegging them to go straight back down to the 2.Liga this season, but there's a lot of reason to think that they could pull off the impossible, and be able to stay up in the Bundesliga now and into the future.

    Basics

Unfortunately, I'm a bit of an idiot. When I started this save, I didn't expect it to go on for long. However, it's now become one of my longest saves on FM, and now I regret not recording anything. But, here are the essentials:

Journeyman Career starting from May 2020 (Save file loaded in Sep 2019, but holidayed through to May)

Managing SV Ried, I joined in May 2020, 3 games from the end of the season. I won 2 of 3, before then taking them on to win the 2.Liga the next season, after many pegged us to finish mid-table

    I live-tweeted the last 9 games, me reacts are here - https://twitter.com/ojmurphbot/status/1259128202787729408?s=20

    THE TEAM

    image.thumb.png.5ad0007a239c6f65fb84f2ac93e293e3.png

    Main Players:

Stefan Nutz - DM - Star player of the team, Austrian 2.Liga Player of the year, definitely someone to depend on

Julius Ducker - ST - Bought for £137k in the  Summer Transfer Window, scored 13 goals in 22 (3) appearances. Another player to depend on up front

Luke Thomas - AM(R) - Bought for £800k in the summer transfer window, made a massive impact on the side

Harry Souttar - D - Initially bought in on a 1 year loan the previous season, before making it permanent this year for £775k, a rock at the back (Not Pictured)

  6. I'm trying to create a new nation with a 3 division, 14 team per division, 1 up and down each year layout. However, when I go to test my nation rules, the top division gets an error saying 'Wrong Number of Teams (13) found for stage 0 (14 required)'. When I check the test results, it turns that there are now 13 teams in division 1 and 15 teams in division 3. There is nothing which I can think to be causing this issue, as all teams don't have any division set as 'Next Division'. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong here?
