  1. This is a really great read and probably the best format on this forum. I only have one very minor gripe is when you say "Premiership". The league was renamed from the FA Premiership to Premier League in 2007 when it became independent of the Football Association. Just a very minor thing, but I love this career and keep it going!
  2. Loving the screenshots of the stadium. Well after it was maxed out, about a season later, the option appeared in board requests to expand the stadium so I just went for it and managed to get it after planning permission was granted.
  3. Great read as always. I remember reading yours from last year so I was glad to see you're doing it again. With regards to the stadium, I believe the maximum size is just the maximum size allowed without having to apply for planning permission. I had a similar issue in last years game after I thought my stadium was maxed out but we managed to increase further after successfully applying for planning permission.
  4. I live in walking distance from Moor Lane/Peninsula Stadium and technically it could actually be one of the oldest "stadiums" in the country, there's records of a Manchester rugby team playing there as far back as the 1850's (I think it is). Obviously the ground has changed a lot since then and more than one time! EDIT: Looking on Wikipedia, records go even further back to 1687 as the land was part of a racecourse ground.
  5. Just an update on this, he is now a wonderkid
  6. I had a centre half like that come through my system. He had bags of potential though so I worked on it. Finally he agreed to be tutored and his personality changed to "balanced" and now he's coming along nicely, he's 18 and a full Welsh international.
  7. I guess you could get permission from the club to talk to the player, agree personal terms etc. and then you go back to the club to arrange a fee.
  8. I literally had the same thing on my game last night. They wanted a selling team wage contribution of £16.25k a week yet I'm currently paying the player £5.25k a week. So yeah, the answer was no!
  9. The manager of an opposing team was bad-mouthing me in the press. Their top scorer was on loan from me so I recalled the player. They started to fall down the league!
  10. Beechfield United in the football league! Please can you show me league history and etc for them?
  11. Haha, I thought the same. I've been on it for the past 6 weeks or so at my work!
  12. The lump sum at the end of the season is prize money for the league. If you look at the league rules on the game, it tells you how much you'll get depending on what position you finish.
  13. For this reason, as I've maxed out my training facilities, I never allow a player under 18 to go out on loan.
  14. I think this is right. The top seeds in the group stage are the 7 league champions of the top 7 coefficient leagues and the holders (top 8 leagues if the holders are also the champions of their top 7 coefficient league). Leicester City were top seeds in the 2016/17 season.
  15. Haha thanks! No mans better than another though; we all have different qualities. My first game was actually the same, a 6-0 loss in Europe. I regularly qualify for the European group stages now. If it's the Champions League, I always finish bottom of the group and if it's the Europa League I usually get through to the round of 32. I'm in season 31/32 now, the Welsh Premier League is ranked 41st, was 105th when I took over.
  16. Quality wise at the start, I'd compare it to the National League North/South and TNS to a National League, maybe lower League Two team. Finances are rubbish, low TV money, low attendances etc. You need to rely on Europe for any serious money. Where to start, it depends what type of challenge you want. If you want to go straight to the top of Wales and a team already in Europe, then it has to be TNS. I'd avoid Cardiff Met Uni as they're hard coded to stay amateur. I like Bangor City though as they had the highest average attendances in the league before I took over (I was managing in N. Ireland originally) so the potential is there.
  17. I'm currently doing the same with Bangor City. I depend on Europe too keep the flow of money going. So far I've got the league reputation up from 1 star to 2. I've noticed slight changes as I go on. When I took over, TNS were the only full time club, now, including Bangor and TNS there are 4 full time clubs in the league. I always keep an eye on the nations coefficient and next season we will gain an automatic place in the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa League and still a chance that we can get an automatic 2nd qualifying round spot in the Champions League too but like kingjericho said, it's all on my own back at the moment,
  18. I read this forum a lot but don't post much. I've had every FM since the first one in 2005 and most of the CM's before that. Yeah, sometimes I get annoyed with the results when I lose 1-0 even though I had 20 attempts to their 1 and yeah sometimes I rage quit and yeah once I broke a laptop because of it (I've worked on my issues since then just FYI!) but I'll still buy it and clock of a load of hours on it every single year because the positives far outweigh any negatives and the hours of enjoyment you get for thirty quid or so is damn worth it! How about a "thank you SI" hashtag?
  19. When you get the regens coming through, do they have only Romanian as a nationality or English too? I'm just thinking there could be an issue if you get the super hard brexit.
  20. My only agreed philosophy in my save is to produce players using my youth academy. After the first season with the club (3rd season in game overall) my first choice keeper was from the youth academy and that put the rating at 100% as I had no other youth players in my first team. I ended up selling him to a bigger club in the January transfer window of my 3rd season with the club and immediately it fell to 45% so I started work on getting other players ready and by the start of the following season I had two first team players from my academy yet the rating fell further to 5%. I'm now wondering how I can get this back up, I'm now past half way of the 4th season, these two players are both important first team players and apart from 1 or 2 others with potential who could play here and there, no other youth players are good enough or will ever be. Can I just hope that at the next intake there are some amazing players in there I can put in the first team right away?
  21. Hold on, you can MANAGE teams in this game?!
  22. Going through the world war years would be a challenge with players getting called up to serve and limited games.
