  1. I shall post a full season review tomorrow evening but having won only 1 of the last 8 league games of the season I managed to scrape into the playoffs in 5th place after drawing with top of the league on the last day!! Went 2-1 down in the first leg of the semi final, managed to win the 2nd leg 2-0 with the 2nd goal being scored in the 90th minute!!! In the final I went 1-0 up and then got a man sent off. Finished 1-1 after 90 minutes. We scored early in extra time but they pulled it back before we scored a 3rd a few minutes later!!! 3-2 winners and promoted!!!
  2. Dulwich Hamlet - 16/17 - Vanarama National League South (Halfway point) It's been an up and down season so far with some great displays and some rather shocking performances too. An excellent start to the campaign was followed by a losing streak streak that ended when I changed up the tactics to a more attacking formation in order to take advantage of the abundance of attacking talent within my squad. We're currently in good form and I'm hopeful that we can continue our march up the table and possibly sneak into the playoffs, a strong mid-table position would be equally as pleasing though as I'm sure next season will be a vast improvement. Squad Competitions Transfers League Table League - Team Stats League - Player Stats Dan Rider A solid start to his career with 12 goals in 22 games. He is currently out for a couple of months with an injury but I'll be throwing him straight back in the team when he is fit again. He's being monitored by quite a few clubs and I fully expect to lose him at the end of the season if not beforehand. He does have work-rate issues and can be a little inconsistent but is still the best player I've got!!
  3. Possibly. I'm currently about 15 games into the season and nobody has come in for him yet, he has plenty of interest though!
  4. The coaches reckon he's already League 2 standard and could improve a lot in future. He's 5 stars and by far the best player in my team but he knows that he's bound for the prem. I'm just hoping he'll win a few more games single-handedly for me before he leaves!!
  5. I decided to give this a proper go this year. I usually attempt it privately and lurk the forums reading up on how everyone else is doing but I figured it was about time I got involved!! I've already made a noob error in forgetting to get a screenshot on June 24th, so have done one at the earliest opportunity upon realising this and have also got a screenshot of my Personal Information to show there is nothing dodgy going on with regards starting reputation etc. If this is unacceptable then I can start again if need be!! Soooooo, introducing the new manager of Dulwich Hamlet (picked only because of their funky kit)... Manager Profile Personal Information Also, has anyone else got extremely lucky in terms of youth players already at the club upon taking over? I've got a 15 year old striker on a youth contract who is wanted by a few prem clubs. I have absolutely no chance of getting him signed up on a permanent contract but he's absolutely tearing up the league in the opening games of the season, I think it may destroy our chances of success when he inevitably leaves in the next few weeks. This is the guy... Dan Rider I'm rolling with a classic 4-4-2 at the moment and I'm unbeaten after the first 3 games of the season but my squad is small and any injuries will make things difficult if I don't manage to get any players in soon. I'll do a proper update at the halfway point of the season!
  6. FC United - BSS - 2013/14 League Table I can't begin to explain how bad I feel about this season. I was top of the league in Jan and stayed there for a couple of months before going on a shockingly bad run of games which ended with me finishing in 3rd, only 1 point behind 1st. So it was another attempt at the Play-offs for me, I didn't even get past the semi-finals this time, put out on penalties by Tamworth. Top Scorer Same guy as last year, another great season for him. I think I shall try and sign someone better for next year just to make sure I win the extra couple of games that will get me promotion. Star Player This was also going to be the same guy as when he played he was superb. Unfortunately he spent a good portion of the season out injured so I decided to pick someone who contributed throughout the year. Short and sweet report as I have nothing much to say about this season, I just want to get it over with and crack on with next year.
  7. 25th January 2014!! Top of the league for the first time! *celebrates*
  8. I just signed whoever was interested really, it was hard work getting an ass-man to begin with.
  9. FC United - 2012/13 - Post-Season Report League Table - 3rd - Play-off Final Runners Up I would have loved to be able to report a promotion this season but sadly it wasn't meant to be. An injury to my star player prior to the Play-offs made things difficult and some sloppy defending along with a bit of a dodgy penalty led to us falling 3-0 behind within the first hour of the final. The team tried to produce a spirited comeback with a goal shortly after the hour and then were given a penalty but sadly it was missed and that was pretty much the end of the game for us. Although I'm obviously very disappointed that we didn't manage to get promoted, this season has left me feeling very positive about next year and I'm quite certain that we should be able to make it next time. Top Goalscorer - Nadir Ciftci - 27 goals in 50 games A great first season for the striker! An honourable mention must go to his strike partner Toni Vastic who put away an equally impressive 21 in 45. Star Player - Francis Laurent - 18 goals, 13 assists, 7.27 average rating and a broken leg in 47 games I honestly expected it would be the other winger that ended up being the star man this year but Francis surprised me. I think the second his leg snapped was the moment our Play-off dreams were doomed and I'm really hoping he will make a full recovery in time for next season. Final thoughts - On past versions of FM when I've played these kinds of games I have tended to have no issue whatsoever getting a team promoted at the first time of asking. I'm finding this version quite challenging and have to say I'm having a great time trying to get things right.
  10. Woohoo! Through to the play-off final with a 1-0 agg win over Boston Utd!
  11. Play-off spot secured! I'm not confident we'll make it this year though.........
  12. FC United - 2012/13 - Mid-Season Report Things are going really well so far! My strikers have both already matched the total made by our top goalscorer last season with only half of this year gone. I drew a load of games to begin with but as the new signings got settled results started to pick up and I'm now sitting in 5th spot and haven't lost a game in a while. League Table Here's hoping I can report a promotion later this evening!
  13. FC United - 2012/13 - Pre-Season Media Prediction - 19th I think we should easily be able to finish well above 19th this year. I'm confident of at least a playoff spot because I've managed to sign a couple of quality strikers and an amazing winger to supply the assists. Transfers I didn't want to sign many players this year because of how many I took on last season and the fact we were leaking money throughout the year but I managed to find a few players who had left top premiership clubs and who had the quality to make promotion a real possibility for us so I grabbed them! Hopefully in my mid-season report I'll have something positive to tell you guys!
  14. FC United - 2011/12 League Table - BSN - 10th Top Scorer - Joe McKee - 13 Star Player - Julian Chérel - 7.16 rating and 10 goals as a CB Overall I think the season went ok. I signed far too many players to begin with and then spent the whole season fiddling about with tactics to try and find something that could get us up the leagues over the next few years. Hopefully next season will bring promotion!
  15. FC United - 11/12 - Mid-Season The season started off really badly as all of my signings took time to gel. After losing 5 of my first 6 games I changed my tactics slightly and saw a few positive improvements and after about 10 games I had managed to win a couple and raise the morale of my squad somewhat. Results were a bit hit and miss from then on but the league remained really close from the playoffs down to the relegation spots and I'm currently on a 4 game winning streak which has seen me rise from 20th to 7th. This is mainly down to some amazing performances from my defence and I don't expect this to last. Hopefully I'll finish around 10th and build upon it next year. League Table League Position Graph Player Stats As you can see, my team haven't been playing too well at all, only 1 player has scored over 5 goals by the 21 game point and it is a defender! This is thanks to him taking my penalties and being rather good at popping up to head in corners. Hopefully I can get my strikers firing on all cylinders during the second half of the season!
