  1. he needs to rebuild his management career and the challenge at rangers would go some way to rebuilding that. he never struck me as the sentimental type that wouldnt associate with the main rivals of a club he played for. in all, i dont think he is in a position to turn down a job as big as rangers
  2. obviously I'm not playing as rangers, but in case you are interested...in two seperate saves paul lambert has been appointed as pedro's replacement each time doesn't seem too far beyond the realms of possibility i guess. would you take him irl?
  3. this was all done in the first window. only at the start of December so far. hopefully will have some money to spend in jan so I can secure semper on a permanent and have zekhnini tied up for an end of season transfer. don't really want to disrupt the team too much as unbeaten in the league, won the league cup and in the knockout of the CL. feel like the team is fine for the rest of this season although could do with bolstering the youths a bit ive seen some people talk about getting a boosted transfer budget for the January window but no sign of that in my game (didn't get it in the beta either). have many people had the boost?
  4. i got rid of a number of players to bring through some of the promising youths and then supplemented with three signings and shifted some of the deadwood. im running with a first team squad of 22 (two for each position), and then ill look to address the u20's in a similar fashion, but probably aim to have about 50 players on the books in total to account for having some players out on loan team currently looking like this; semper gamboa, kolo, lustig, KT brown, bitton bentivegna, schaub, sinclair dembele gordon ralston, erik, o'connell, church ajer, rogic aitchison, christie, roberts griffiths bentivegna was brought in from palermo for 6m. thats pushed roberts to backup for the LW slot, and after this season ill be looking to bring in zekhnini to replace him. schaub was a steal at 1.5m. ill look to play ralston as much as i can over the season to try and develop him as much as possible. church is another youngster who looks like he could be a top LB in the future (although only ever a backup as long as KT is here). aitchison has been sensational, 8 goals from 8 games playing on the right wing, a position im training him in. next step is to start addressing the u20's, anyone have any suggestions? sean1967 - you mentioned you would look to bring in a technical coach - i brought in Paul Scholes on my save, could be a good option for you
  5. ive focused more on giving our youths a chance this time round instead of bringing in lots of signings. decided to bring as many of the promising youths into the first team squad and kept the money for one or two key signings as well as shift as much of the deadwood as possible. semper gamboa, kolo, lustig, KT brown, bitton bentivegna, schaub, sinclair dembele gordon ralston, erik, o'connell, church ajer, rogic aitchison, christie, roberts griffiths bentivegna was brought in from palermo for 6m. quite pricey, but for a 20 y.o with solid stats for a winger and bags more potential it seems like a good investment. i was also thinking about the inevitable departure of roberts so wanted to have that position covered. thats pushed roberts to backup for the LW slot, and after this season ill be looking to bring in zekhnini to replace him, although odd might prove difficult to negotiate with. i tried signing him from the start, they agreed to 4m but only once they brought in a replacement, a couple of days before deadline day they still hadnt signed anyone so i had to cancel the transfer. schaub was a steal at 1.5m. he was great for me in the beta although has had a bit of a slow start this time round. ill look to play ralston as much as i can over the season to try and develop him as much as possible. church is another younster who looks like he could be a top LB in the future (although only ever a backup as long as KT is here). aitchison has been sensational, 8 goals from about 8 games playing on the right wing and 2 of them came as a substitute when i was drawing at tynecastle. he turned the game on its head an it finished 3-1. really excited about the youths this year. KT had an upgrade since the beta (tackling up to 14 from 7 as well as other stat boosts).
  6. Dont think he has been mentioned yet, but Accursio Bentivegna is a solid looking RW at Palermo. Signed him for my Celtic side for around 5m in the first window. Stats look pretty decent for a 20y.o and plenty of potential too. Scored on his debut against The Rangers and has scored some pretty special goals over the first couple of months of my season too. Also, Zekhnini from Odd looks like he could be similar to what Zivkovic was last year. Great young LW with potential to play at the highest level. Had a 4m bid accepted for him but couldnt get it through in the end as Odd stipulated signing a replacement player first and failed to bring anyone in. Will be going back in for him in January though
  7. how good does harry wilson look? he's a player i usually try and sign for my celtic side, havent been able to get him so far in this year's beta though is he rated as a decent enough prospect for liverpool?
  8. he was surprisingly still with zagreb at the start of season 4 for me. had some interest from a few clubs so i decided to make a move for him but with an agreement for him to join at the end of season 4, giving me some time to get carlos mane's profile up and take a big fee for him. think ive agreed to pay about 7 or 8mil for lovren and should be able to sell mane for 30m+. lovren looks the better player stats wise too, so looking like a very good bit of business
  9. im in season 4 and ive got 2 or 3 players on 100k. the only way i could hang on to people like zivkovic, carrasco and carlos mane was by paying them EPL-level wages. although mane will be moving at the end of the season as im bringing in davor lovren (check him out by the way, crazy potential!)
  10. the coaches will change their opinions of players the longer they spend time with them. it happens with signed players too. you could sign a 4 star midfielder and then a month later they're a 3 star because the coach has changed their opinion after working with them more closely
  11. Been a while since I posted an update on here, but currently in January window of 3rd season with Celtic. Managed to get a domestic treble in the 2nd season (as well as winning World Club Championship), but failed to live up to the first seasons Champion’s League victory and fell at the Quarter Finals. Looking on course for a treble again this year, and got Shakhtar in the last 16 of CL so another Quarter Final should be easy enough to achieve. Manage to get the league up to a position where we now have 2 CL slots (although this season it looks like Kilmarnock will be taking the 2nd spot), with automatic group stage entry for the league champions. Should raise profile further with this year’s CL progress, just need some other teams to start making some progress in Europe so they can start bringing more money in and signing better players. January transfer window and Liverpool triggered Mihalcea's £20m release clause, and Chelsea bid £30m for Christie. Replaced them with Christian Pavon for £12m from Boca and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco for £18m from Bayern Regards to my squad, its looking like this; First team; Rajkovic Janko, Hinteregger, Savic, Tierney Lewicki Zivkovic, Hou Saeter, Armstrong, Carrasco Larsson Second team; Arrizabalaga Lustig, O’Connell, Mazuch, Lazaar Leverington (regen) Carlos Mane, Henderson, Brown, Pavon Batshuayi Ive also got Joe Thompson and a few other regens floating around the first team squad too. For anyone looking for a LB, id seriously recommend Acharaf Lazaar. He Moroccan, about 23/24 at start of the game and he’s top quality, got him from Palermo for about 4m in second season. May struggle to keep him as he is only backup and really could be a starter for any top team. Hou Saeter is a beast. He could play well in any position/role in the centre of midfield. Signed him for 20k in first season and he is probably my best player after Zivkovic. Larsson has scored his away in to a starting position ahead of Batshuayi (about 30 goals in 30 games so far)
  12. finally got some time to post my first season review! starting with summer transfers, brought in 7 signings; john hou saeter - 39.5k prince larsson - 500k, loaned back to helsingborg until jan andrija zivkovic - 850k sondre rossbach - 22.5k vlad mihalcea - 350k martin hinteregger - 4.5m oscar lewicki - 1.5m mulgrew, commons and stokes went out for a combined 4.5m and johansen was loaned to wolfsburg for the season. i then brought in ondrej mazuch on a free once he recovered from injury in October. you might expect zivkovic to have been the best signing of the lot, but id say hou saeter was probably my best signing and probably the first name in the centre of the park for me. hinteregger and mazuch formed a pretty solid CB partnership too. in january, i had larsson back from loan as back up strike but he soon played his way ahead of griff up front. i also brought in sven bender for 5m and miguel angel Moya for 3.5, while boyata, cole, allan and efe all went out for 4m combined. in terms of the league, it was wrapped up in early march and finished 40pts ahead of partick in 2nd, 33w-2d-3l, 101pts. won the league cup beating the rangers in the final, 3-1. lost the scottish cup final to aberdeen, 3-1. champions league - qualified for group stages via zalgiris, partisan and malmo. drew chelsea, wolfsburg and sevilla and came 2nd in the group with 4 wins. 1st knockout round drew barcelona, went through on away goals after a 1-0 home win and 3-2 defeat at nou camp. quarterfinal against monchengladbach, went through 8-4 on aggregate after a 4-3 away defeat and 5-0 home win. semifinal against roma, went through 5-1 on aggregate after a 5-0 home win and a 1-0 away defeat. final against bayern, won 2-0. zivkovic finished top scorer in the competition too. tactics were predominantly a 4-1-2-3, almost trying to replicate a guardiola-era barca style. sometimes switched to a more defensive minded 4-2-3-1 for the tough away matches in europe. just getting into the 2nd season now with gordon, bitton, ciftci, griffiths, rossbach, bailly, johansen, rogic, mcgregor, gms, and izzy all leaving for a total of 31.5m. brought in kepa arrizabalga for 3.5m and michy batshuayi for 8m. got about 23m remaining to spend and need to bring in left back to challenge tierney and a winger. may also need to find a new CB as hinteregger is looking to move, but hes only going if someone pays his 20m buyout clause if anyone wants any screenshots of tactics, instructions or any players then let me know and i will post them
  13. you could easily have put that winky face after guidetti too you cheeky scamp you. to be honest, guidetti is probably the exact player im looking for but after the way he left celtic irl, i dont know if i could sign him. Ill have a look at the other ones next time im playing, thanks for the suggestions. thinking about it a bit, i have a feeling that finnbogasson could be a good fit for what im looking for too
  14. Im currently tracking Zach Clough although i hadnt considered Woodrow. Ill start having a look at him. The only thing about these two is the fact they are so young. My other forward is Jordan Larsson, so i would be a bit worried about having 2 young strikers. I was looking at Solomon Rondon with West Brom having being relegated, but hes not quite as competent a DLF as im looking for and im not sure how well ill be able to train him in that role. Someone with Rondon's experience and at his level, but better suited to a DLF would be ideal
