  1. I never said there is a lack of top quality players, just like nobody else here. But these issues exist. And i would bet on everything if someone does a test on your save it would show exactly what we know to be an issue for years.
  2. There are already a lot of people who run tests over the past few years that show significant decrease in number of full backs with good crossing and defending. I think even someone from SI said they are aware of the issue, but i cant be bothered to find the post. So issue is definitely there. Also there is big decrease in good penalty and corner takers. Sweeper keepers also dissapear. In my experience, a lot of them have great vision for some reason but technique and passing is lacking. This is something SI is struggling since long time ago. It would be unfair to say it has been like this since forever because i cant remember, but its an old issue never solved.
  3. Well, i guess people at SI were aware of everything you said. So why make it official and headline feature when it is obviously done only when its done and not before. I think the J league is less of a problem than it actually seems here on the forum. Of course i cant speak for other people, but i can guess the frustration for certain people (myself included) comes from false advertising that, as much as i can remember, started few years ago. AI squad building, AI transfer, improved match lighting, J league. All of these were treated as HEADLINE FEATURES. And non of it works. If you add stuff from previous years, like dynamic youth rating that never actually worked, i can understand frustration Sorry for getting a bit out of topic
  4. I can understand it somehow. New things added over the years can make things messy. But at some point someone from SI should ask themselves how far can this UI/UX mess go on. I would honestly like to have an opportunity to talk to a person who made this team talk and press conference screen, and people who gave it thumbs up, and ask how can they think that actually looks good. Thats what i cannot understand. But as i said before, not the biggest problem with FM
  5. And another thing, not too important. But how is it possible that someone few years ago thought that team meeting, team talk and press conference screen should look the way it looks now and think its good. Its so hard on eyes, you need to search for players in team talk screen. Press conference has so much wasted space and it takes a bit to find a question. And how is it possible that after so many years nothing has been done to make it look good.
  6. I cant believe i fell for SI promises again. After skipping FM23 because i was tired of the samo old game every year, i thought few weeks ago, after blogs were released, "This is it". They finally admited what we knew all along. AI is not improved for years now, graphics got WORSE (not the same, actually worse). They said they had record sales, money and time to take it to another level. Their major selling point was AI squad building, transfers, improved match day experience. So i decided to run a few saves 15 years in future. And although it seems that some improvements have been made, like average age of a team dropping, its still far from whats expected and it is still too easy to get succesful the longer you play a save because AI teams have terrible squads. Graphics is still bad. Look at the FM17 and tell me why is the game in worse state 7 years later. They didnt mention anything about newgen attributes, which are still unbalanced after so many years, absolutely no improvement. Sweeper keepers, actual attacking wing backs and so on. They dont exist. For a person like me who likes playing long term saves, its just not possible to enjoy the game. If you ignore set piece improvements (well done, it was about the time) i am playing the same game like the last few years. I can understand people being happy with the ME, but for me, who doesnt go deep into tactics, this game offers nothing new or better
  7. I didnt buy the latest FM, for many reasons. To actually give money to SI this winter they would need to improve this 1. AI transfers - I see little progess over the past, lets say, 10 years. Random transfers, clubs buying world class players they dont need and then actually not even playing them, manager transfers, no logic at all. And the most annoying is the recent problem of AI keeping old squads and young players never get the chance to develop (known issue for 2 years, never fixed) 2. Attribute balancing issue - as we know, for the past two years players seem to keep their fitness up to the late 30s, problem connected with issue above. Also, what is my problem since i started playing FM, newgen players are totally unbalanced. Full backs with bad techical attributes like dribbling and crossing. For a person who likes to play long term saves it becomes almost impossible to play certain tactics after a while. Also no sweeper keeper newgens, to many advanced forward type of strikers and so on 3. UI/UX - I can just copy what (sic) said above, he said it better than i could. Everything is the same for too long. it became stale and boring. The game needs new life 4. Match graphics - this is something i could ignore for a bit longer if things above are improved, but for me the most frustrating thing about the game. Compared to FM17 there has been a clear regress. I can not understand for a second how can a game from 6 years ago look better than now. Its a complete let down, especially considering how SI often brags about record sales. That means more money and at least what they could do is improve it a bit since then. But no, it actually looks much worse. From stadiums, to pitch texture, shades. But its okay, we have burger vans and picnic tables. Honestly, i dont know a game that got worse graphically in space of 6 years, FM must be clear favourite there I know people will says the game is not about graphics, but it is still important enough to actually invest some time and money. So to have it worse....i dont know, i cannot understand 5. Match engine and animation improvement - inside forwards never cut inside, no dribbling etc. After playing game for 15+ years everything is known and expected. I understand this part of the game is already complex enough and its not easy to improve it so thats why its lower on my list I dont expect everything to be fixed. And looking at the history and past experiance, I actually doubt anything from above will be fixed or improved. But lets see
  8. The only way SI will change their approach is if they get a big hit financially. And that can only happen if people stop buying the game. I started this year. Problem, for me, is that a lot of customers probably are casual players who dont care about these bugs and will continue buying game no matter what. Thats why i dont see anything changing in the near future. They are bussines, so as long as the numbers are good they dont care what long time players are complaining about, no matter what they say. Ignoring years old bugs while at the same time adding half baked "features" seems to be a winning formula for the company. I wish something will change soon but i doubt. FM 23 really killed any hope i had in this game.
  9. Didnt buy a game this year after disappointing "features", but i got a chance to play it for few weeks and i can say i didnt make a mistake for not buying it. Its so frustrating after so many years there are still the same bugs making the game, for me, not fun to play. Sadly, it looks like the game is in decline for few years now. I always say i wouldnt mind less features added if it means they will focus on fixing long term bugs. What happened, it seems, is that those features they added in the past few years are bugged and they didnt fix a lot of things from the past. Also, long term saves are again impossible to play. The attribute balance of newgen players are still mess. For example, attacking fullbacks dont exist after 10-15 years, sweeper keepers etc Inside forwards are not doing what they should do. Movements like "cuts inside from left/right wing" are useless. What exactly is the point of "tries tricks" ? These are just examples Stadium graphics is much worse than 6-7 years ago which is unbelievable and i cant understand why. I am not really a gamer but i doubt there are lots of games that have worse graphics than they had in 2017. Not even those strategic games where focus is not on graphics, just like FM. If someone told me 10 years ago the game still wouldnt be able to show you dribblings, i wouldnt believe them. Obviously, my post sounds like a rant. And i am frustrated because this is the only game i play. FM became so stale
  10. As someone who thinks this was the biggest issue on FM22, and it seems nothing has been done about it for the latest version, i really appreciate you doing this analysis. Well done
  11. Neil, can someone explain why is match graphics worse today than it was 6 years ago? Nobody can deny progress being made in ME. But to have graphics that is, in my opinion, much worse than it was in 2017 is ridiculous.
  12. The problem is that graphics are not stagnating. It went backwards. Just go and watch some videos of FM17. Its unbelievable, 6 years years ago it looked much better. Everyone knows that ME and AI are much more important and i agree. But its more than understandable that people are frustrated and disappointed with the treatment of match graphics. Its actually a fact that it looks worse than 6 years ago. Just look at stadiums, grass texture and lighting, shadows etc. Thats the point. It looks worse than 6 years ago!
  13. He actually seems to be proud of this. I think this says a lot about where this game is going graphically. Its 2023 in few months
  14. Is that all we will get today, one minute video, or this is just a recap and we will get more today in some kind of blog or similar?
  15. I totally understand that graphics is not priority, i wouldnt want it to be either. ME is the soul of the game and it should always be like that. But to actually make it worse visually is incredibe. And they say 85% people play it in 3d. So why not invest some time into making it look better. Imagine if you go 6 years back and think how game will look in 2023, i bet even the most negative people would think of something like this. And to add to that, you wont see a single dribbling attempted by a player. Messi or sunday league player, it all looks the same, player animation is still bad in my opinion. Definitely agree with the part about bringing new players to game. Visuals play a big part
  16. The difference is shocking to be honest. I remeber lightning and pitch looking better before. But that, 5-6 years later, we will have worse graphical representation of actual football is what makes it unbelievable for me.
  17. Hopefully they managed to add a bit of depth to ME, so we can have more success with defensive style of football. What i like about new fm is uefa competitions theme, and if its true about the cl sound, it will make a big difference to cl matches.
  18. Just because things are boring for you doesnt mean other people wouldnt like it in the game. But it seems that you decided to talk for everyone tonight. I understand where you are coming from but i just think you dont understand that other people would like to play a game a bit differently sometimes. I spent too much time arguing a point i actually dont care that much about so i will stop the discussion here
  19. If i can jump in your conversation with Mars. I doubt anybody buys the game for international football, so based on that nothing should be done about it? Nobody bought the game for press conferences, dynamics, staff meetings etc but its still in the game and people are playing it. You dont make good points at all And also non of us can guarantee anything, nor we can talk for other people. But if i could, i would guarantee that nobody would have a problem with improved internationals and i would guarantee that more people would start playing it
  20. I dont think you understand what people are saying. You picked random examples, and another ridiculous example that has nothing to do with international football to prove your point. Just like in real life, players spend limited amount of time together, so impact wont be the same as in club football. But thats exactly the point. Everything should be limited in international football. But something should be there. Why do you need to do anything in between international breaks? You can scout and interact with players. Just like real life managers. I really dont get your point there
  21. Respectfully, your rebuttals are based on what you think people will say. Without any actual knowledge. And mentioning resources and how it would take a lot from other parts of game. But when you see what they are spending time working on, i would argue that they are already doing what you said they would be doing if they invested time in international football
  22. Okay, that makes sense. But still, some kind of training should be added to improve tactical familiarity. And i agree about resting players issue
  23. You can add a lot of things, it doesnt have to go too deep, just like it doesnt and cant go too deep in real life. But its still part of football and it should be part of FM too. And fm should be realistic representation of real life football. Yes, people want that. And also people want international football. And yes, international football is different from club football in game, just as it is in real life. There is a lot of not interesting or fun to play parts in FM that are added. But those things are added in the name of realism. So why not have it for international too? Why not have it just a bit more deep? Literally nothing is added for the last xx amount of years. Thats a problem for people and i understad why. Especially after you see what they say is a headline feature.
  24. My problem with scouting was this. You have clubs policy of signing under 23 players for example. You set your scouts to scout under 23 players. And you would still be swamped with reports about much older players. It would be good if they fixed it this year. I agree with everything in your post
  25. Why not add training? They actually do have trainings. Why not have more player-manager interaction? National pool is a mess, it should be sorted out. There is a big discussion from last year on this forum about it. Some really good ideas, so its not fair from you to say people dont know what they want. They literally do know what they want and they write about it here Of course its stripped down version of club fm. But isnt that the same in real life? It doesnt have to be something revolutionary. But small improvements are more than welcomed because there is good amount of people who would enjoy international football, including me. So what if they put some resources into international football? Its still a big part of football manager. Or at least it could be if they actually invest in it But again, for me its also not a big deal. I think there are bigger issues to deal with. I am just saying they are adding cosmetic stuff and present them like headline features while there are lots of issues present since long time ago, which they ignore. One of them is international football. So i wouldnt focus too much on it in this topic.
