If this was happening in real life, it would put Scottish Football on the map globally. Some crazy big names, the stadiums would be packed.

Best of luck, its a great idea

Awesome career with Dundee so far buddy. I always enjoy your approach to playing FM. I am looking forward to you eventually bringing in Mario Balotelli.

Cheers all, appreciate the feedback. I hope to bring back those memories for Dee fans when they had shocked the world by snapping up Cannigia. I just wish players didnt retire so fast... maybe its the Dundee weather :D

2022/23: We're all going on a European Tour!

    Pre-Season:

We had more to look forward to than ever this year, Dundee are back in Europe and it was time to really mix it with the big boys. We did spend some money this summer, but the big excitement came around the signing of 'Tres Muchachos Amigos'...

    TRESMUCHACHOS.png

Thats right, 3 Colombian legends all sign for Dundee, Juan Cuadrado (who combines his role as a DOF), Carlos Bacca and the enigmatic Radamel Falcao. Delight at Dens, the Dee are on the up!

    First Half:

It didnt take long for us to taste defeat this year, getting dumped on at Celtic Park 3-6, as it looked as if our highs of last season may have been a blip. Fortunately we bounced back quickly, the best of it seeing a Bacca double help us win at Tannadice, immediately enduring him to all in the Dark Blue.

With the World Cup running in the Winter of 2022 there was little room for league football. In the end we would win 6 draw 2 and lose 3 of our 11 games played. The last game of the year saw us cough up a late lead at home to United, giving them something to smile about over the festive period.

    January Window:

The January window saw us take a different approach. We are known for our frugal efforts in the market with free transfers, but this January we spent £15,500,000 on 2 new signings as ex-Brentford duo Said Benrahama and Rico Henry joined the Dee, with the former costing a club record £12,000,000.

We also would add the veteran presence of Angel Di Maria for half a season, the Argentine committing the final 6 months of his career to the club.

    Second Half:

Plenty of games to come and although we lost on our return to Aberdeen, we would go on an 8 game undefeated run that saw us not only pick a point up vs Rangers, but then go on to win 2-1 at Celtic with that man Bacca notching another special winner.

That was followed up by our first Derby loss under my tenure, going down 1-3 at Tannadice as United followed our tail in the league. It sparked a miserable month, we would lose 4 of 5, collecting just a point as qualification for Europe was on the line.

Fortunately we picked ourselves up, wins at Hearts and the Rangers (Benrahama double) helped push us into 3rd place as the league split. We then beat 4th place Hibs to all but ensure our place in the Europa League and although a 2-7 mauling at Ibrox tarnished the season a bit, we had enough in the tank to finish out in 3rd for a 2nd straight season.

United managed to pull their socks up for a top 6 finish, giving us a 4th derby of the year. Revenge was on the table this time and it was served kitchen to table with Falcao scoring his 9th and final goal for the club to seal a 2-0 win. Another player who ended his career with a goal would be Di Maria, he struggled to make an impact at the club but his 70th minute penalty saw us nick a final day point at Celtic.

    Final Table:

    TABLE2223.png

    DINGDONG.png

    Dundee Derby

Just about our season in terms of fixtures, 4 this year but United did snatch one win from us. Bacca and Falcao both enjoyed their time in the derby, whilst local lad Finlay Robertson continued to impress at the club, scoring in 2 of the ties as we again finish as the top dogs in the City.

    DDINGDONG2223.png

    SFACUP.png

    William Hill Scottish Cup

Celtic end our run again this year, not as dramatic as our Semi Final stuffing last season, but a 0-1 Quarter Final loss ended our chances of any trophy this year.

    FAC2223.png

    BETFRED.png

    Betfred Scottish League Cup

Quarter Final and Celtic loss seem to be the theme of our season, only 2 games here as we got a bye past the Group phase due to our European commitments. Celtic crush us 2-4 as we just cant get anything over the Old Firm giants.

    LGE2223.png

    EUROPA.png

European football back at Dens! The once European Cup Semi Finalists begin our tour against Qarabag in the Playoff round. A positive 2-2 draw away helped set us up for a Wilshere tie winner at home.

We had a challenging group that included Napoli and Hertha BSC, we couldnt beat either but would draw against both in front of a packed out Dens. We also held the upper hand over Ludogorets to clinch 3rd place and a chance in the Europa Conference.

    EUROPA2223.png

    CONFERENCE.png

Hopes were high in this competition but a one off knockout game at BATE would see our run come to a premature end, as a 2-2 draw saw us then slip to a penalty shootout loss. Disappointing but we enjoyed European football past Christmas and can look back on this with a positive.

    2021/22: Survival?

    Pre-Season:

Promotion came at a cost, that being a net debt of over £6,000,000.. peanuts in comparison to the earnings on offer, but still too much to take for current owner Tim Keyes who decided to cash in and go back to America. In his place came a consortium headed up by ex-Partick Chairman 'David Beattie. Beattie immediately put the finances on an even keel and opened up a bit of budget to build a squad capable of competing in the nations elite.

Our net spend would be £1,100,000 as our sole cash purchase would be of the exciting Sikri Dembele from Peterborough. Alongside him we added a range of experience, from 40 year old Spaniard Joaquin, to the Charlies of Austin and Mulgrew.

Dundee would also welcome back to former sons as Barry Douglas and Gregg Stewart penned deals with the club as we added 7 new faces for our SPL campaign.

    First Half:

A baptism of fire to start life back in the SPL saw us go to Ibrox and 2 early goals for the Gers seemed to set the tone. However we rallied and a debut strike from Dembele would help us seal a point. Things got better a week later as our Tayside clash with St Johnstone infront of a sellout Dens, saw us go goal crazy, smashing the Johnnies for 7 as Dembele firmly cemented himself into the hearts of the fans with 4 goals.

Our first Dundee Derby came next and although old man Joaquin opened the scoring, we would feel aggrieved to just come away with a point in a 1-1 draw. We would go on to start the season 8 undefeated, that also included a draw with Celtic and another 7 goal haul as Kilmarnock felt our wrath as Dembele scored another treble.

Hearts and Aberdeen would inflict our first losses, but we continued to roll, scoring 4 against St Johnstone and Hibs, whilst the best was yet to come.

Our first game at Tannadice of the year and it couldnt have gone any better. That man Dembele again claimed a match ball as he led us to dish out 5 of the best against the mob from down the road. Our year ended with 4 wins from 6 in December, scoring 15 goals and in the end disappointingly losing our first home game of the year vs Kilmarnock.

    January Window:

January saw us shuffle the pack in an attempt to consolidate the 3rd place we had hold of. It was a case of experience needed and coming in to answer our call would be a pair of International talents in Sami Khedira and Fernando Llorente, as they inked short term deals to the end of the season.

Again we had to balance the books a little, allowing some of our higher earners move on, whilst also cashing in on Agustin Allione as he joined Vit. Guimaraes for £1,000,000.

    Second Half:

The new year started with a pair of local derbies and again we continued our winning ways, stuffing St Johnstone 5-1 (thats 7,5 and 4 in 3 games), whilst United were once again defeated 2-1 as Joaquin sealed the win with a 2nd half penalty.

Then we hit a slump, losing 4 of our next 8 games, one of the rare positives being a 3-2 win at home to Celtic thanks to a 93rd minute Stewart effort. The rocky run left our 3rd place in jeopardy, but we regrouped and put on a 4 game winning streak to all but clinch a place in the Europa League, enjoying back to back stuffing's of Aberdeen on the way.

Our season would sadly end on a sour note, Celtic dipping us 1-6 but we can look back on an exceptional season where we won 20 games, scored 89 goals and clinched a slot in the Europa League with ease.

    Final Table:

    TABLE2122.png

    DINGDONG.png

    Dundee Derby

Not only did we have the upper hand over the 3 games, including a 5-1 pasting on their own patch. We cruised into European football, whilst United almost went down, surviving on the final day before scrapping through in the playoffs. Its nice to be on top!

    DINGDON2122.png

    SFACUP.png

    William Hill Scottish Cup

An exciting run crushed at the final hurdle by Celtic. We would need replays twice in our journey, with Alloa and Motherwell forcing the extra tie, with the latter seeing us sneak into the Semi Finals on penalties.

Alas our day out at Hampden took a turn for the worse as Celtic used all their nous to give us a rollicking, 0-6 was a bit unfair but thats the gap we need to bridge to bring a trophy back to Dens.

    SFACUP2122.png

    BETFRED.png

    Betfred Scottish League Cup

We would cruise through the Group phase, stuffing all infront of us and getting back at Forfar for last years shock win, by sticking them for 6. We then edged past Alloa in the last 16, before coming unstuck in the Quarter Finals as Rangers had way too much for us at Dens Park.

    2020/21: Race to the SPL?

    Pre-Season:

Remember when Dundee signed Claudio Cannigia? Well multiply that by 19 and you will get where this club is going as every resource the club could muster was thrown at a gaggle of big name free transfers in order to gain promotion in the COVID shortened season.

Names such as Yaya Toure, Andrea Bertolacci, Alen Halilovic, Rudy Gestede, Nicklas Bendtner and Jofre Guerron would walk through the door at Dens, as the club underwrote a wage bill that crept toward £100,000 per week in order to fund the ambition.

Plenty of players would leave, bringing in near on £400,000, whilst a quick sign and sell of Adama Diomande (in for free, sold for £800,000) would see the Norwegian have a move lined up to the MLS in January.

    First Half:

We had the ideal start winning 2-0 at Hearts with debut goals from Allione and Emenike, sparking a 4 game winning run to open the campaign. Our first dropped points came at Ayr, as Gestede salvaged a point with a 90th minute equaliser.

4 more wins came in quick succession but all by the odd goal, including 7 goal thrillers against Arbroath and Dunfermline, before we would end the year with just our second draw of the season, Alloa managing to hold us goalless at Dens.

    January Window:

As mentioned the Diomande sale bought in much needed funds as the club faced a mounting £3,000,000 debt, we also allowed Yaya Toure to leave on a free to Al Ahly to free up some wage bill. 6 new faces would join, bringing in a raft of Premier League experience in Jack Wilshere, Nathan Dyer and French duo Yohan Cabaye and Samir Nasri.

There would also be the addition of Stuart Findlay and Perry Ng to freshen up the back line, costing a combined £3,000,000, the latter being a club record £2,500,000 deal from Crewe.

    Second Half:

Football returned with a defeat, as Hearts left Dundee with 3pts after a 0-1 win. But that barely put a dent into our lead at the top, as we then picked up another 4 wins through the month of January, with only Ayr (again!) denying us with a 2-2 draw.

There would be more dropped points at Morton, but the decisive fixture for us came with another 2-0 win at Tynecastle, Bertolacci and Guerron scoring to all but seal our return to the SPL. Arbroath, Alloa and Dunfermline were all then dispatched, setting up a title winning chance at Somerset Park vs old foe Ayr United.

Alas they still held sway over us, this time collecting the 0-1 win and delaying the inevitable. In the end we were able to clinch the title and promotion as Guerron scored a treble in a 4-0 romp over Morton.

Celebrations would continue as we finished our campaign beating Raith 4-0 at Dens, leaving us Champions by 14pts having just lost 2 of our 27 fixtures and a +36 goal difference.

    Final Table:

    TABLE2021.png

    DINGDONG.png

    Dundee Derby

Nothing to see here, but promotion means we will claim the City back!

    SFACUP.png

    William Hill Scottish Cup

Early round romps over Stirling Uni. (5-1) and upstart Cove Rangers (3-1) set us up for a money spinning trip to Ibrox. A late Helander OG sent us to ET, where we would incredibly take the lead via Guerron. Sadly the Gers instant reply would see us setup a dramatic penalty shootout.

At 4-5 to the hosts with no one missing, up would step Jack Wilshere and a slip saw him skew his penalty wide and see us miss out on causing an upset.

    FACUP2021.png

    BETFRED.png

    Betfred Scottish League Cup

A group phase to kick off the campaign and things seemed to be going well with wins over Stirling Albion and East Fire. Alas we then slipped to a shock 0-1 loss at home to Forfar Athletic, leaving us having to win at Easter Road against SPL side Hibernian.

They would prove to be a class above us at this stage of the season, easing to a 1-4 win and ending our League Cup run early.

    2024/25

    Pre-Season

Our new President immediately made an impact this pre-season by moving the club! A minor upgrade to our stadium (adding a new 1200 terrace) saw us have to play most of our campaign on the road, using the 26000 Diego Armando Maradona Stadium owned by Argentinos Jrs.

Recruitment was a little more clean cut, we signed 3 foreign players, the most exciting would be Emanuel (not because of the film) but because the Brazilian had 7 Yellows and 6 Reds last season playing in some sort of Brazilian competition. Another Brazilian 'Renato' would cost us $1.5m as we hope his temperament will be akin to the great Edmundo of old.

We had to sell a few players this time round to raise funds, the club is beginning to lose money as the backing of Claudio Tapia is no longer there. However we do have the excitement of Copa Sudamericana football to look forward to.

    First Half

Our opener set the tone as 'Perro Rabioso' would see red, as both us and Defensa finished with 10 men as we collected a 2-0 win. Another red followed the week after and at this stage we are rubbing our hands together, racking up an average 30 fouls per game and leaving our mark in more ways than one on the opposition.

Our results then picked up, 4 straight wins had us in amongst the Libertadores race, but our card collection slowed a little, seeing more leniency from the referees, as it wouldnt be until mid-September when a Pavoni lunge saw him see 'Rojo' after 5 minutes in a loss to our season hosts.

Coming up to the half way stage and we looked well on course to break the 1000 foul mark across a shorter 38 game season. Our form wobbled, good wins over Racing Club and Banfield were muffled by sloppy losses to Godoy Cruz and Dep. Moron as we found our feet firmly as a mid-table team.

Yet the exciting part would be the red card for Bruno Zuculini... the first of a few for our journeyman midfielder.

    Second Half

The 2nd half of the season started well, a point against Boca and then a 5 goal spree at Defensa gave us cause for optimism. Yet we still lacked the cutting edge in the referees notebook, as the season suffered from a mid-season lag.

Zuculini would be the next red card, his 2nd came at NOB in a 1-4 beating, a turning point in our aggressive approach as a few of those failing to live up to our standards were put out to pasture for a hungrier dirtier bunch.

We began to average 5 cards per game and easily beat 30 fouls on many occasions, combining the fouls with the results, shown by our hard fought draw at Campeon-Elect River Plate.

Then it happened again, Zuculini collected his 3rd red of the league campaign. This time a nice 2-footed lunge saw him get his marching orders at Dep. Moron, sadly his last of the season but not the clubs!

Our final 3 games saw us end with 10 men each time. Perro Rabioso got in on the act at home to Talleres, the Colombian Julian Pretel found his nasty side at Union, whilst Alberione celebrated his first red card for the club in our finale at Velez. It helped boost our numbers as although we failed to hit that magical 1000 foul mark, the 148 yellows and 9 reds proved to be a club high over a 38 game season.

    DISC2526.png

    TABLE2526.png

    COPAARGENTINA.png

Lost to Godoy Cruz in the 6th Round, our first season run to the Final seems to be an outlier to our Copa efforts. No reds either which is annoying.

    COPA2526.png

    COPASUDAMERICANA.png

A first foray into the delights of Continental competition and as we are Argentine a bye into the Group Phase. It isnt all that great though as its top or nothing and as you can see, it proved to be nothing for us.

We started well winning against the Ecuadorians, but then blew up at Audax Italiano. There was no way back after that, however a proud moment came when CONMEBOL informed us that our disciplinary record from these 6 games was the worst they have seen in the competitions short history.

    Things may start looking up!

    2023/24

    Pre-Season

Preparation for our first season in the top flight was tempered with the upcoming Presidential elections that saw Claudio Tapia step down from his role at the club, with Pablo Guzman taking over. It is a shame that he wasnt going to share in our success but the transition did see our debts get wiped out, leaving the club with a healthy balance to move forward with.

That allowed us to improve the squad, bringing in home based experience in Lucas Orban and Bruno Zucullini back from Brazil, whilst we gambled on a pair of South American imports to keep , notably young feisty Uruguayan Pablo Pavoni who has all the hallmarks of being a right nasty 'so and so'.

Of those leaving, we would keep an eye on homegrown prospect Pedro Rizzo, who gets a year to ply his trade in Argentina as he left the club after having the badge tattooed on his arse in a show of loyalty.

    First Half

We started very well (results wise) and actually led the league after 5 games, our sole loss came at Velez where we had 2 sent off and picked up 9 bookings in a match to leave our mark. Our results then became more erratic but we would go on a tear, averaging well over 20 fouls per game and leaving no doubt on visitors to the 'Chiqui' that when you stepped on to our pitch, you would leave on a stretcher.

The leniency of the referees at times surprised us as through the first half of the year we looked on course to pass 1000 fouls for the season, but it was no time to let our foot off the pedal, as only 2 more wins before the turn of the season left us in and around the relegation battle.

    Second Half

With survival our aim for the year, we had to ramp up our efforts and continued to kick our way on and off the pitch. We would average 3 bookings per game come the end of the year, all whilst picking up key wins at Banfield, Rosario Central and Gimnasia LP that gave us enough breathing room from the trap door.

Colombian 'hatchet man' Julian Pretel would finally get his sole sending off of the year in a draw with Independiente Rivadavia, adding nicely to his club record 17 bookings through the campaign. Then a goalless home draw with Campeon-Elect Boca Juniors saw us stop the Xenezie with just 10-men, proving our way is the right way.

In the end a pair of wins to finish of our 40 game season would somehow see us nick 11th place on goal difference, meaning that we had earned a spot in the Copa Sudamericana! A chance for us to spill blood on the continent and show the world Barracas ball.

Wow! I never thought I'd see the name Barracas Central in another FM related thread! I had a six-season or so stint with them a few versions back after using the LLAMA to chose me a nice club at random. I didn't manage to break the River/Boca stronghold but had a really enjoyable time there.

    Will definitely be following.

    '

Thanks for checking in... it is a random team for sure!

Im hoping to break into the Cinco Grandes... but it may take a while and a few more niggly fouls to get us there :D

  8. ALBERTO 'PERRO RABIOSO' PAOLOROSSO - The Rabid Dog! His debut he got booked, a game later he got a red card, thats Barracas all over. He wound up with 2 reds and 11 bookings in his 24 appearances. If he carries on like this, the future is bright.

    PERRORABIOSO.png

HECTOR ORTIGOZA - This 18 year old has all the hallmarks to be our next Cangele. Yet to earn his spot fully, but likely to play a bigger role in the top flight.

    ORTIGOZA.png

AGUSTIN 'GOLEADOR' VILLALBA - Our penalty taking keeper, 7 goals in 3 years isnt a bad return. Cost us $1,000,000 but is worth every penny.

    GOLEADOR.png

CAFEZINHO - I have high hopes he can become a right nasty piece in the middle of our back 4, he has slowly begun to earn his spot.

    2022/23

    Pre-Season

Another haul of players came through the door as we again replaced those leaving on a free with a $2,400,000 spend. As always we focused on our demographic of player, this time adding a foreign aspect with Cafezinho (BRA), Pretel (COL) and Martinez (PAR) all ready to take aim in Argentina.

    First Half

A bright start for a pair of our new boys, saw us collect 2 reds in 3 games with Melillan and then youngster Paolorosso got involved as he instantly endeared himself to the Barras' at the Claudio Chiqui Tapia.

Results were hard to come by, then we hit October and would embark on a 7 game winning run that saw our opponents see red, as our niggly style began to get under teams skin as we got on top.

A loss in November slowed us down, but with the break coming up we sat on top, but that success saw us lag behind in the discipline stakes, a sour taste indeed.

    Second Half

A sluggish return to action saw us draw 4 of 8 games, as the table closed up and indifferent results coupled with a lack of red cards began to irk. That baron run of dismissals would end with 17 y/o Victor Morelli planting a reducer in our home drew with Gimnasia, but in the end we had done enough to top the table!

Our efforts would put us into the Campeon Playoff against Deportivo Moron with a winner take all place in Liga Profesional de Futbol up for grabs.

    Promotion Playoffs

Sadly, another clutch game and another loss. We would give them a kicking, but they were composed enough to stop us and a pair of early strikes saw them take the title 0-2 and punt us into the Promotion playoff picture.

Ferro stood in our way, we would enjoy a 3-1 win and a red card (Franco Mussis) at their ground as we did the hard work to reach the Final. We confirmed that beating them 2-0 at home in the return leg to setup a Final against UAI Urquiza.

A tough encounter with a team who we drew with twice in the league campaign. That outcome would come up once more, this time we would see Paolorosso sent off for a 2nd booking, but it didnt do us any harm as a 4-2 penalty shootout win would see us earn promotion to the big time!

Success beyond the clubs wildest dreams, we can finally kick Boca and River! For a 2nd straight year we battled our way to 660 fouls (over 200 more than anyone else), whilst referees seemed more lenient, giving us a league high 82 yellows and 5 reds.

Goalkeeper Agustin 'Goleador' Villalba continued his run of scoring from the spot, he now has 7 goals in 3 years, scoring from his past 6 penalties as he continues to grow his reputation at just 21 years old.

A last 16 exit for us this year as we fell to Argentinos Jrs with Valenzuela collecting a red for his troubles as our hopes of a giant killing faded.

    2021/22

    Pre-Season

Our spending continued, credit in Argentina is easy to get.. so why not use it! We did have alot of players to replace due to contracts ending and again it was time to focus in on those with the right mindset, the Barracas way.

Laureano Nutz would be our big signing, coming in from Tigre as we hoped he would live up to his name, whilst we snagged a gaggle of younger players to hopefully engrain into them the naughtier aspects of the game.

    First Half

Things began well, we scored 8 to open the season up by stuffing newly promoted Crucero del Norte 8-3! But the real success came in in our 6th game as El Sicario (Franco Cangele) collected his first red of the season.

Arroyo would be sent off the game after as our in your face football soon attracted the attention of the officials, with the reality sinking in that just 4 wins in our opening half of fixtures, relegation was looming large.

    Second Half

The second half of the season began before a 2 month break and would see Cangele collect yet another red card! But this time he would ignite a winning run, as we romped to 4-0, 3-0 and 4-0 wins to sign off 2021 on a high note.

We would return to action with a loss on the pitch, but another red card to our name as Morales took his marching orders for a nice spiteful lunge. Then with the season peetering out, Franco Cangele (who had decided it was time to call it quits) would not let us down, slamming an opponent to the floor and collecting his 3rd red of the season to match last seasons tally.

We continued to kick our way towards to finish line and a 4 game winning streak saw us climb into 6th, a decent return but no chance of promotion this time out.

Our standards would improve with over 660 fouls this term, 170 ahead of anyone else. We also topped the bookings chart once more with 113, whilst Cangele contributed half of our 6 reds... El Sicario will be missed! However he will continue to be apart of El Guapo, scouting for our future.

    PRIMERANACIONAL.png

    2020/21

    Pre-Season

The focus was to revamp the squad, money wasnt an issue (Well it is, but its not out of my pocket!) We would go out and sign 22 players in a hectic period. Everyone who came in had an axe to grind, a chip on their shoulder and the right outlook on football. As mentioned there was no requisite on age or talent, as long as they wanted to go out and kick someone, they would be ripe to sign for El Guapo.

In the shake up, we would have a net spend of over $4,000,000 a huge debt to take on and a gamble from the President Claudio Tapia that we will put out a competitive team... we may well do, but topping the discipline charts is our aim here, success and a chance to kick some 'Brasilenos' in the Libertadores can wait!

    First Half

Result wise it couldnt have started off worse. We would lose our first 4 games as the new look team not only failed to perform, they also looked played like sheep... Los Carniceros we were not.

We had to shake things up and a slight tweak to our formation and a greater emphasis on the dark arts saw us not only pick up points, but also our first red card as 36 year old Franco Cangele (remember him) kicked his way off the pitch in our goalless draw with Temperley.

Somehow we would then go undefeated through to the mid-season break. We tightened up at the back and even our Keeper got in on the action as the $1,000,000 signing Agustin Villalba (and designated penalty taker) would score from the spot in our win at Dep. Riestra.

As 15 games rolled around we had collected over 250 fouls, 30+ Yellow cards and a solitary Red via Franco Cangele. Alongside that we were handily placed in the table, maybe just maybe we could leave a mark or two on the big boys next year!

    Second Half

A nice break that would include a Cangele red card in a friendly (no such thing!) would help us stay on track. Brown and Gimnasia took 4 goal thumpings, alongside a thump or 2... that man Cangele seeing red again in the latter.

Unfortunately we would go on a win-lose-win-lose run, though it was enough to edge us into 3rd place and a shot in the promotion playoffs. Sadly we would be without hitman Cangele as he would collect yet another red in our final league outing at Sarmiento, but there are no hard feelings and he would be rewarded with a new contract, combining his playing role with scouting duties.

    Promotion Playoffs

We didnt expect this but here we were. Tigre a team with top flight experience were our foe and a crammed Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia saw us edge them 1-0 in the 1st leg, 4,400 Barraqueno could barely believe their eyes... promotion was still a way off, but they could dream.

Alas fairytales are not what we are about and disappointment would be etched at home (for a 2nd time, you will soon understand why) as Tigre stopped us with a 0-2 win on the night.

    PO2021.png

Overall we would play 32 games in the league, rack up a high 595 fouls (120 more than anyone else), 78 yellow cards (again a league high) and 4 red cards... 3 of which came via Franco 'Sicario' Cangele.

    TAB2021.png

    COPAARGENTINA.png

Sometimes things get a little crazy and thats what happened in the Copa. We continued to try and kick our opponents off the field here and that, coupled with favourable draws would lead us to the Semi Finals!

Arsenal de Sarandi fell first, then Def. de Belgrano and Atlanta as we made the most of facing teams from our tier. Then the Semis, well standing proud in our way would be NOB, a real handful for any team.

This challenge would be made harder as we saw red early, proving that we will kick anyone no matter their status. Yet our rough style seemed to send NOB back into their shell and the miracle of miracles would occur when Lucas Cardozo would strike and send us into the FINAL!

A showpiece of Argentine football, a chance for Barracas to enlighten those to how football should be played! Alas we seemed over-awed and rather than go out and intimidate, we would shy away in a 0-2 loss to Banfield. Proud of our achievement to get there but angry that we let ourselves down.

We will look back on 15 bookings and a red card from our 6 games as the real success.

  13. BARRACAS-CENTRAL.png

    :: Foreword ::

South American football is still the pinnacle of passion, clubs remain intertwined with their local area with fans often having a prominent role whether good or bad within the club and its identity.

On the pitch the hot-headed approach remains, emotions often boil over and whilst it may not be as aggressive as it used to be, if you prod, you may well get bitten.

At Barracas Central we will do the prodding and the biting. The teams ethos will be to kick, spit, bite and fight our way onto and off the pitch. There will be no place at El Guapo for anyone who isnt up for leaving everything including their blood on the pitch. Barracas will be a place and a team that everyone hates to play, everything we do will be hostile, our recruitment will focus on how aggressive and dirty a player is above anything else.

We will go out to fight for the badge, there will be no excuses. We may not win, but you will remember Los Carniceros de Barracas...

  14.

    BARRACAS-CENTRAL.png

    :: The Club ::

Barracas Central, formed in 1904 are a perennial small time club from Barracas, Buenos Aries. In the amateur era of Argentine Football, 'El Guapo' would compete in the Primera Division for 2 decades, however the change into the professional game has not been kind and the club has yet to taste the big time since.

    :: The Rivalry ::

IF and its a big IF, the Clasico Barraqueno will take place should Sportivo Barracas ever make it. It is very unlikely so we will need to form our own hatred....

    :: Where we begin ::

Primera Nacional. The 2nd tier of Argentine football and as always with South America, a different setup. We will also enter the Copa Argentina from the 5th Round.

:: Home - Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia, Barracas Buenos Aries::

    STADIUM.png

  15. Currently running as Barracas Central in Primera B... the aim? To create the dirtiest team in football. Well on our way, but we have just seen Franco Cangele retire... he collected 6 reds in our 2 seasons  so far :D

Searching out the next bunch of South American Animals

  16. Probably going to make a FM Career update for this save as im enjoying the challenge and how things can progress long term.

But as this is the spiritual home of "Los Carniceros de Barracas" ill show you our season 2 improvement :D

Not a bad season on the pitch, we failed to hit the highs of a Copa run, falling straight away in the 5th Round (note the Copa crosses 2 seasons, so we have started next years already!)

Anyway in the Primera B we just drew too many games. We rallied for a bit to edge into the top half and nicked 6th, there was an outside chance in the final weeks to make the playoffs but we needed too much to go our way.

No one cares about that though, its all about the filth... so in 34 games (league expanded) we led the charts in:

Fouls 665 (170 ahead of the next team)

Yellow Cards 113 (44 more than the next team)

Red Cards 6 (a couple more than Temperley)

We did what we came to achieve, individually its going to be a sad day this summer as Franco Cangele hangs up his studs, as again he earned 3 Red Cards, this time with 10 yellows as he single handedly dished our 103 fouls in his 28 appearances ) :D

Tobias Coppo, Carlos Fondacaro and Cristian Villagra also hit double digits for bookings as only 2 players in the squad stayed out of the book. Keeper Villalba and Forward Lucas Cardozo...

  17. OK so how did the season go.

Im Barracas Central in the Primera B, Argentine 2nd Division for those less cultured ;)

We played 32 league games (including 2 playoff games)...

We led the league in the following:

Fouls - 595 ( 120 more than the next team)

Yellow Cards - 78 (22 more than the next)

    Red Cards - 4

We would add another 15 yellows and 1 Red in 6 Copa Argentina games, as we somehow got the Final but lost. Still a great day out :D

The worst player in the team was 36 y/o Franco Cangele, he collected 3 Reds, surprisingly he added just 6 yellows from his team high 94 fouls ...... whilst Carlos Fondacaro led the team with 14 yellows in 26 appearances.

Not bad, im hoping now the team are used to the aggressive tactic and with a chance to change the squad up, we can get worse and teams will hate playing El Guapo

  18. Things heating up...

Copa Argentina 5 Games (we have made the Final somehow!)

    13 Yellows, 1 Red, from 102 fouls

    Primera Nacional B (14 games)

    34 Yellows, 1 Red, from 245 fouls

edit - I do not fine anyone who gets a suspension from Red or Yellow card accumulation. Thought it would be unfair to punish those who play for the badge
