  1. I guess match raitings not say too much to us actually. If my team perform well, I dont care about it too much. I use very similar set-up like yours. I tend to replace my players if they perform under 6.5 and I am confident in my tactic and think the problem is caused by the player. Otherwise I make tactical changes where I see problems. In your case, it might be player issue most of matches. Your tactic is not look like so unbalanced to me. And also, dont forget every opposition not play same against you. You are playing 3-2 rest defence for now and some oppositions could try to counter this rest defence. I like IWB-MEZ-W combo but you could need something else in some matches.
  2. I dont think so. For example; Even a player which was chosen for easy tackling, you could see his hard and bad time tackling and get a red card if he has this low sportmenship etc. Or, even if a player which was chosen not to dribble, you could see him dribbling fair enough if he has high dribbling and traits etc. Or, think about DLF with Offside trap trais etc.
  3. How do you find CM(a) on middle? He generally run forward too early than I like besides I like to play very much fluidity with positive mentality in these days unless I am highly underdog. In these kind of matches I tend to start with atleast balanced mentality and balanced fluidity. I wonder what do you think about CM(a) role and the player type you choose with it. Because we are not too far away with our set-ups.
  4. I get it now, thank you for answering and taking time 🙏 Btw, we share same principles on mentality and media handling 😁
  5. Thats the way I like to play. High load is essential in the start of season. I push them as much as I can. The injuries can be acceptable for me in this period. And I prefer lower the risk of injuries in the end off season.
  6. As far as I remember, he was using specific mark instruction instead of tight marking in some matches like chelsea eg. You should check his City recreation on FM23.
  7. Hi @Cleon mind-opening as always, thank you👌 One thing I wonder. Wouldnt be CAR more fit on the right and AP on the left side? I assume CAR could cover the space behind the IF and AP could get a little bit space with IW which could stay wide more than IF. Also, couldnt it helps with overload left and freeing IF on 1v1 situation. What do you think when you was choosing sides with these two roles?
  8. SK/BPD/RPM is a very very good set-up against high press. FBs and CD could keep possession in a safety way and you have a bwm to disturb oppositions play and an opportunity to win second balls along with CM. I like the set-up. If there is one thing could be thinking about, it would be sacrificing wide. Sometimes, you could be forced against deeper sides. I would consider a MEZ with right foot instead of CM, and a winger with right foot instead of IW on the left side. That way, mez could go wide with ball on the right side and winger could stay wide and then come inside on the left side and you could achieve more wide option in these kind of games.
  9. Thanks for helping 🙏 Stuggling one is Fairly prof with level-headed media handling and other one is prof with media friendly media handling. As far as we know they have both 1-14 controversy and +15 professionalism. I wonder what is the reason for this situation. And how could I avoid . Or can I avoid it?
  10. Hello everyone. In my 6 season of career, I have a player who has fairly professional personality, struggling to connect with someone who has professional personality. Is that normal? I mean in previous version, I had a driven player stuggling to connect with professional player but never happened before with fairly prof and prof. Also, do you have any idea how should I manage this situation? Btw they are in same mentoring group with model citizen players.
  11. In this version of FM, I tend to pay more attention to positional play and “rest defence.” With choice of CM instead of AP, you are getting kinda 2-3 rest def with your CM/DM/IWB. Because your CM doesnt move like AP for positional play. Having defensively reliable CM could help here. Though I prefer 3-2 rest def for coviring wings.
  12. I agree with CM(s) idea instead of AP. Also, I would think about B2B or MEZ(s) instead of CM(a). They could involve build up phase more than a CM(a) and be still scoring thread with right player and traits, if CM(a) was going forward too early than you like. Other than that, WB(a) could be a choice instead of CWB as a more consistent wide option on the left side because of being extra narrow with IF.
  13. I was reading again @Rashidi’s book. I saw something that might interest you. You should have a look. Its from his book:
  14. If you are interested, here a video of Xavi’s thoughts about importance of creating numerical superiorities and getting second balls. You can also find a lot of other things about possession orianted styles on the video.
  15. Couldnt agree more with this. As a fun of possession based football in my opinion, thats the weaknesses of possession orianted style IRL and FM. Because you are the playing one with ball, slowing things, taking time, opposition have much more time and chance to win the ball on their own half and you have much more time to make a mistake compared to fast transition style. Thinking about rest defence carefully and having numerical superiority are vital things on these kind of styles. Thats why Guardiola obsessed with his wing backs and central backs and trying lots of different things with them 😂
  16. - I would choose WB(s) instead of FB(s) for some width on the left side. Also, there are already two holding midfielder. In my opinion, FB is too way conservative in this setup. - I would choose standard or even lower LOA for utilising my AF and SS. I would start with this simple changes and make changes based on what I see.
  17. Lower tempo- slowing things. Taking time. Thinking more. Lower pulse, lower rush decisions. Going opposition’s goal with a slow way. Higher tempo- opposite all of above. Speed up things. Not taking as much as time and thinking as much as lower tempo. Higher tempo, higher rush decisions. Going opposition’s goal with a quick way. So with a more direct passing and more higher tempo, your players could bypass the midfielders more than a lower tempo and shorter passing. And this situation could be repeated much more with higher tempo/ direct passing than shorter passing/ lower tempo. I generally choose my tempo setting according to the play style in my mind. If I would like to benefit my deeper players, I go with slower. And vica verse. Its not the rule btw, its just the way I like.
  18. Makes sense to me. And you could overlap naturally with WB(a) role on left. According to Rashidi’s Book of the Roles’ book, I would be careful to use overlap instruction with the same sided AP. Because it could effect AP’s movement.
  19. Looks much more solid to me. I tend to change 1-2 roles and/or duty according to situation and/or oppenents. For example I use 3-2 rest def against 2 striker as IWB-BPD-CD-IFB at the back. In some situations I use 2-3 rest def with 2 IWB. Always looking for numerical superiority at the back according to oppenent’s attacking style.
  20. Thats what I like about PF. And as @fraudiola said, it could be hard to find nice TF in regen territory.
  21. @fraudiola Btw, I dont associate clearing the ball with TF’s attribitues. If you read my comments, I said lots of thing like defenders behavior and risk situations before coming TF. It was a “possibilty” we are talking about which came in my mind. There is nothing wrong about TF and its function. You should re-read them 😁
  22. Im not compairing roles or players. Im talking about “off the ball” instruction. And gave some example IRL player and how they move. Pirlo had amazing off the ball skill to recieve a pass and pass it to other guy from deeper area. And I guess I dont need to talk about messi. @thebreadlady said TF isnt running behind, so off the ball isnt related. I tried to help him to understand how it could be related. Isnt off the ball related coming deep from forward position to backward position? Is it just about running behind? So whats weird about that? 😂
  23. Did you try IWB on the left? IWB’s move could make VOL a bit more higher freely and your CM could move to the right. Also, you could get 2-2 rest def with IWB. Just an idea but worth to try. For the rest, it looks like very balanced setup, I love how it look.
