Hi guys, spent the last few days reading through this page after purchasing FM21 and enjoyed the read!
Just finished season 1 and main points of interest:
- Won the Premier League, Semi-Finals of CL, Final of Carabao Cup and Quarter finals of FA Cup
- I phased De Gea out as he kept making mistakes and Henderson was a solid number one
- Like most of you, 4-2-3-1 was my formation to get the best out of Bruno but Pogba struggled for form and only got around 4 goals and assists all season
- CB was a nightmare. Signed Romagnoli and sold him within 6 months to PSG, signed Onguene in January and he was solid, Maguire was average, Tuanzebe was average and injured and Lindelof was awful. Gave some minutes to Fish and Mengi also, with the former being higher on my agenda.
Entering season 2 I have bought: Milenkovic and Pau to be my new CB pairing, Grealish & Maddison to replace VDB and Pellegrini, Schmeichel to replace De Gea, Camavinga to replace Pogba, Carvajal to bring attacking threat at RB and Laird has gone to Portsmouth in the Championship and finally Depay to replace Cavani,
My main question is, how good does Henderson become? Donnarumma is available for £45.5m and the scouts think he can get the 4.5 stars. Henderson will only get to 3 apparently but I like his overall game. But it says a lot that Southgate played Ramsdale over him in the Euros...

First game of the season (season 4) at home vs Juve, 0-1 down thanks to a Rabiot 25 yarder which was annoying.
Team was looking confident, a couple of changes on the 60 minute mark along with attacking philosophy, and managed to secure a 1-1 draw thanks to this goal from my homegrown lad Carmelo Muzio with about 5 minutes to go.
RETE, RETE! UNO UNO! CHE GOLAZO!

Season 1 was about selling the older players, promoting from the academy and being patient. As the season developed I found some form with a 3-5-2 formation, but it was a very defensive tactic due to lack of talent. I pipped Monza I think to the title on the last day but it took me until January to find any form and work out my best 11.
Serie B I changed tactic early on and went for a 4-4-2 with Armini playing RB to fill a hole, but finished second in the end to Empoli who romped it with Montella in charge!
I ended up finishing 11th in my first season, but considering I was tipped to finish last and 2000-1 to win the league, I'm happy with that. Season 4 (2 in Serie A) again is about maintaining status as next year we move into the new stadium and we need the finances. £14m stadium and I think we have a £7m loan which is probably why the board won't give me more than £7m to spend! Seems a bit pessimistic but as it's a young group, I want to develop them further and hopefully attack Europe next season. It's also tough because I can't attract any talent whatsoever.
Attached are some of the guys who got me here. A few Palermo rejects but they've done the job for me.

I have been scouting players to be a backup to my mezzala Zaccagni. A Czech named Barak and Cataldi at Lazio have been my targets but I may have to reconsider and look at Iago as well!
I have played him as an AP (S) and he's made a big difference controlling a game. The main reason I avoided making him a Mezzala was his physical attributes are fairly poor and I opt for beasts in that role. 7/10 every week and his average tackles, passing and dribbles per game are good. I've always wanted to go for Cataldi and he's normally really cheap season 1.

Hi guys, I have been a lurker during the lockdown on this thread as I've finally found people as passionate about Italian football as me.
As a background, I started off as Albinoleffe as I was looking for a challenge, like the old Palermo or Monza challenges back in the day.
I am Season 3 and into Serie A, one game left in the campaign and currently sat in 8th.
Tough because we have such little money and I'm having to develop academy talent or cheap prospects disgarded by the big boys (D'amico or Lunetta).
Only disappointment with Serie A, and FM have done this for years, is the big boys sell their stars for huge money but never reinvest it well or to the same scale. Maybe all the clubs have huge debt levels still?
We are due to move into a new stadium at the start of season 5, which will be a 13k capacity stadium. We are currently renting a 3k capacity stadium in Gorgonzola!
I am currently using a 3-5-2 formation due to failing fallback, a lot of talent in midfield and finding it hard dropping Armini, Mondonico (c) or Canestrelli. Below is my normal team and you will note a lot of homegrown players and regens! Important to me to stick to the philosophy.
Iago is my record signing at €1.1m, Armini is a legend and managed to loan him for 3 season on the bounce and lastly Vergani came from Inter and is probably one of the most well known players.
As for season 4, the best player I have joining on a free is Eze from QPR, who normally smashes it for Newcastle on other saves so I have big hopes for him.

Starting off as Juve and think it will be quite a challenge getting top 4. You have €15m budget with no spare wages but this mysteriously reduced by 50% about 2 weeks in. Not much depth, no Pogba and not many prospects in the academy either!
