  1. Bought FM2011 in a local shop and tried to get it installed via steam. It just keeps saying the key is a duplicate one and already in use. Is it possible to reactivate it or have I been diddled out of money?
  2. Well I'm off and running with FC United. Its been a bit of a struggle so far. Just about to play my tenth game of the season but we've finally hit a little form and climbed out of the relegation zone. Had two massive back to back wins in the league. We beat Gainsborough 2-0 at home who are struggling a bit and then beat Stafford (bottom of the table) with our best performance of the season to date. Link
  3. Really enjoyed last year's game with Hendsford so I am here again. Managed to reach 4th place in the Premiership and made the Champions League just as the new game came out. Doh! Just up to the 24th now and waiting to see who I can get. Wouldn't mind Durham but I keep getting the likes of Boston etc.
  4. I'm liking the new tactics system at the moment. Selecting the player roles and what you want them to do makes a lot more sense to me than numbers and sliders. That was half the problem with the previous FM's. I knew I wanted a ball winning midfielder in the centre of the park along with another one to push on. However once you had worked out what you wanted your roles to be you had to understand what the sliders were doing. You don't have that trouble any more. You can now simply concentrate on what you want to do rather than understanding how to make it happen. I think its just taken some of the mystery out of it for me.
  5. Hednesford Town - 2022/23 Season - Premier League Finished: 5th Expected Finish: 9th With the club set to leave Keys Park for a new 26,114 capacity stadium I was keen to make this season one to remember. My target was to have European Football for the following campaign to make the first season in the new ground memorable. I also attempted to try and get the training and youth side of the club sorted out. With the board pestered to improve the facilities I drafted in some quality coaches to try and get things moving along. Hopefully over the next couple of seasons we can start to have some luck. Whilst we are still being back heavily it is important for the club to start standing on its own two feet. This means getting money in from the turnstyles and young players coming through. Signings weren't as heavy as previous seasons. I was looking to build on the team and existing contracts didn't allow me to move things about too much. However we did splash out on Duane Hickman for £28.5 million. He turned into an instant success and with him banging in the goals Arsenal paid £51 million for him during January. This led to us having a real wobble and I ploughed some money into Danny Woods from Hull. He finished the season with four goals from nine but isn't in the same league as Hickman. In the end we just about made it. Four wins from our last six and an excellent draw against Arsenal saw us sneak the last European spot at the expense of Liverpool. Time for the new ground and hopefully we can kick on. 6. Hednesford Town - 2020/21 Season - Premier League Finished: 13th Expected Finish: 17th Long time no post. My game has moved on a lot since my last after winning the BSP. The big spending backers have continued to pour the money in and I've managed to keep us moving up the league (although my first season in the Championship was a bit messy. Our second season in the Championship saw me regein my spending in and I assembled the spine of my promotion winning side on free transfers. Spent big in my first season in the Premiership and survived with ease. We are looking to build now and hit mid-table. However it is getting hard to keep the squad together. Anyone who does well gets targeted by the big clubs in the division. I've already lost two players to Man U in the last two years and one to Arsenal. On a plus note though a new ground is being built which is badly needed now. Once thats done we can focus on youth development. 7. Hednesford Town - 2014/15 Season - Blue Square Premier Finished: 1st (Promoted as Champions) Expected Finish: 4th We always looked likely to go up this season. The board throw a stupid amount of money at me and it meant I managed to snap up players well above the standard of the division. These guys clearly are serious about taking us all the way it seems. Last season's Blue Square North signings formed the spine of the side whilst the additions during the summer gave us the quality. In came Curtis Osano, Paul Parry, Grant McCann, Louis Castles, Max Wragg, Kenny Heath, Stephan McPhee and Lee Novak. We won our first game 4-0 to put us top. We stayed there all season and never moved. Frankly anything less than promotion with the money I had to play with would have seen me sacked - and deservedly so. We also reached the final of the FA Trophy but lost out 1-0 to Havent & W. 8. Well this new money bags chairman has indeed gone mental. He's handed me a budget of £4 million for transfers and a frankly stupid £190k for wages in the Blue Square.... I was looking forward to trying to develop the club on a reasonable budget. The trade off is he wants us up this season.
  9. Hednesford Town - 2013/14 Season - Blue Square North Finished: 1st (Promoted as Champions) Expected Finish: 6th We're up at the first attempt which is good news. Decided to keep the majority of flops around as I felt even they could hack at this level. They did okay up until about Christmas. We are always in the play-offs however in January I decided to bring in some football league experience with the millions we had in the bank. It helped us kick on and in the end we went up with 76 points. Andre Boucaud from Darlington and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff from Preston arrived to strengthen our midfield. At the back I bought in Charlton defender Lee Wilkie to the club. That gave us the boost we needed. All proved to be invaluable scoring over 7.00 for their average ratings. Other plus points was Jamie Taylor. He joined us last season from Grays. He scored 17 goals in a poor side so I kept him. He scored 19 this season which was a big help. Back up now and we have to make sure we perform better than last time in the BSP. 10. We're up as champions. Just finished the season now (more to come later on). The Conference North was poor though this season. We finished with just one point more than the season I went up in the play-offs which tells its own story. Gateshead and Cambridge kept losing games and it allowed up to come up from in the play-off places in the final third of the season. Happy days.
  11. Hednesford Town - 2012/13 Season - Blue Square Premier Finished: 23rd (Relegated) Expected Finish: 24th We'll skip over this season because it was a mess from start to finish. My signings were rubbish and bar a brief moment in February we never looked like getting out of the bottom four. Finished with 32 points and just seven wins all season. Only one of them came on the road to boot. A pathetic season which frankly I'm glad was over. This next season is shaping up nicely however. Half way through it and in we are in second place having just disposed of Cambridge City who were top. Best of all a rich businessman has take over and we've got about £9 million in the bank! He is backing us all the way apparently! I've already used some cash to buy some older football league heads. 12. Hednesford Town - 2010/11 Season - Blue Square North Finished: 3rd (promoted via the play-offs) Expected Finish: 11th League Table | Graph A good season in the end. Again we started brightly and hit the top but I wasn't too disappointed this time when we slumped. I knew we had a decent squad this time and that over a season we would be there or there abouts. I was proved right as we never dropped below 8th in the league. Having felt we lacked enough goals to make a creditable push for the play-offs (my aim this season) I decided to go for the best striker I could get. At the end of the previous campaign I pulled up the stats table and picked the highest scorer who wouldn't command a fee. Stuart Nicholson, having banged in over 50 goals for Tamworth in three seasons, was targeted and he arrived. He turned out to be an excellent signing and the difference. 34 goals in all competitions and top scorer in the league helped us achieve our aims. The play-offs could so easily have gone against us though. Against Hinkley we were battered in the first leg but sneaked a jammy 1-0 away win with the last kick of the game. We took a 2-0 lead in the second leg but Hinkley deserved to save face and it finished 2-2 in the end. We really didn't deserve to be in the final on the strength of those two games. Harrogate were our opponents and again they gave us a good going over. But we took the lead through Ryan Lake. Having been injured for a good few months it was good to see him score the winner. We hung on and grabbed promotion. 13. Hednesford Town - 2010/11 Season - Blue Square North Finished: 9th Expected Finish: 16th A disappointing season really as we started so well. We won six of our opening eight games and drew the remaining two. However once I won the manager of the month award we hit the skids. Managed to wrestle it back under control but we could get another really consistent run going for the rest of the season. We finished well off the play-off pace. We had better luck in the FA Cup. Easy draws led us to Manchester City in the 3rd round and a big pay day. We got whopped 8-0 but finished the season with £500k in the bank. 14. Hednesford Town - 2009/10 Season - Blue Square North Finished: 12th Expected Finish: 18th Graph | League Table A decent first season in which we flirted with the play-offs in the second half of the campaign but never really looked likely to make it. A tough run in against Solihull Moors and eventual champions Droylsdon also put paid to any hopes we had of making the play-offs. Injuries also crippled us in the final few games. Still not a bad finish considering our start was utter garbage (we got twonked a few times in our opening away games). Indeed it took us until October to win an away game. 15. And I'm off... forgot to take this on day one. Only played a handful of games though. Promises to be an interesting season. Been twonked twice on the road but pulled off two respectable home wins.
