Hi, long time FMT fan here (played it on the Vita once upon a time).
I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to play FMT on the Steam Deck? Tried the full version on there, but it feels sluggish, has too much of everything and lacks the zest the Touch version has. I play it on the Switch, but I'd prefer to have everything on one device when I travel.
Thanks!
You will need to install windows. I played 23 concole via windows game pass on the deck last year. It's a shame they won't release it on steam. Makes no sense really when it's available for windows

So I like the feature to speak to the agent before placing an offer for a player, however sometimes the fee required by the club is too much. I cannot feed this back to the agent, and they end up getting annoyed that I haven't followed up interest, please can this be added?

A lot of people like the slimmed down version though - I know I prefer it. I guess the solution is to try and have both full fat and the console versions available on ps6 & xBone - if that's feasible

As per title, seems strange not to have it available on steam as well when it is obviously built for the PC as well as the consoles.
Main reason for requesting is for use on the steam deck, which obviously has similar controls to a joypad, albeit with a touchscreen as well.

So I’m lucky enough to have the choice between which I play, but despite extensive googling I’m struggling to see what I loose from playing the Console game. I know I cannot mod or run as many leagues, but what else?
SI have a page on their website showing the differences for FM22, is there a counterpart for 23?

You can sign them before they are 18 but I don't think they can join until they are 18 so youd have to trust the club to develop them well. I'm not 100% on this though. You can definitely sign the vast majority of wonder kids that are 18 and over though. Should even be easier to sign brazilian wonderkid. I'd say try living with it for a bit and see how it goes
Thanks but I’m already having problems. Arezo has been denied a wp. When I originally offered a contract In the summer transfer window I was told he’d get a permit on appeal, however come 1st jan with the new rules it was flat out refused.
Did you start you game before the patch? That might be why it’s different for you, or it maybe I’m doing something wrong 😂

League rules can only be edited in the pre game editor as far as I am aware - Second Nationality would be the only way around this with the In Game Editor as far as I know.
Thanks - that was what I thought... hmmm will need to decide if I want to start again or if I can live with it. Not being able to sign wonderkids is a pretty big issue though

I'm sure this has been asked before but I cannot find anything on search...
Can you use the in-game editor to remove work permit restrictions? I appreciate I could add nationalities by using it but that would mean I get a pretty unfair advantage over my rivals so I'd rather not go down this route. Not enjoying the restrictions, albeit I know it's realistic, so want to remove.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately it’s not confirmed either way as yet. Looks like it’s a real possibility but still a chance it won’t come this year

Any kind of update from sigames, Sega or Miles would be greatly appreciated. The silence is very annoying
This really. Full game is out on pc, and I still don’t know whether to buy it or wait for stadia....

The simple solution is to enable cross play. Start a saved game on pc after using the editor, continue on stadia. Pretty please fm gods??

Obviously just my personal preference, but I like the idea of general descriptors rather than hard numbers. Makes it feel more realistic. A manager doesn't know if their player is 65% sharp and 97% fit. They just know generally what they look like in training and what their recent workload has been. The icons themselves I'm pretty indifferent towards, but I do like the overall concept of fitness and condition.
I agree, and maybe this is the prelude to doing away with physical numbers for attributes as well eventually. I’m sure Klopp doesn’t get scout reports that’s says some players finishing is 15 out of 20 😂

Even if there is a Stadia version of FM21 I would be surprised if it supported mods or editing due to the nature of the Stadia platform.
Yeah me too tbf! Still we live in hope!
Cross play would be good as you could potentially start a game with mods on pc and then just load said game on Stadia!

I imagine there aren't answers... because there aren't answers yet or they're not in a position to answer yet. Personally, I haven't seen posts confirming or denying the game coming to Stadia. I know there's a fairly big delay (judging by last year and a tweet from Miles) when submitting and being able to get onto Stadia. Whether that's the cause for the lack of answers I do not know.
IF there's news, SI will announce it.
Ok thank you. It’s a shame there’s not even an indication of whether it’s likely or not so close to launch but I appreciate you taking the time to respond 😊

I’m not ordering the pc version as I’m waiting to see if the mod issue on stadia has any workarounds this year, however requests for updates as to whether it is even coming are not getting responses on either Twitter or here at the moment. Please can we have an update? If it’s not coming I’d like to know. I could have preordered on pc and be playing the beta by now if it’s not coming 😂

Thanks higgo. I’ll try it again. I’ve got high spec broadband but didn’t work great last year.
Steam link worked really well for me on fm20, and I’ve got crap broadband!

Re the editor, would a solution be to allow it as a stand-alone download on either the steam store, or your website? I’m sure it will work with the epic version of the game if people could just download it somewhere other than dlc on the steam store

Hey all - I'm currently playing in League One and I noticed my starting line-up contained 7 players I have loaned from other clubs. Isn't the limit 5 in a matchday squad?
Edit to say I have not turned on no loan restrictions!

Sorry for the crap title... basically this year I have been instant resulting a lot of games, just because it saves a lot of time. However this causes a problem if I instruct players to get stuck in, as they will invariably get sent off! I’d like an option in the player instructions that you can enable to automatically switch from get stuck in to ease off when the player was booked, which would reduce the number of reds I’m getting!

Been done before I’m sure but always an interesting one. This should be something that involves only ai clubs, not when you signed Ronaldinho for Wexford! mine was from around fm08 I think, though that’s a guess.
Non league Exeter won the FA Cup! Beating Man Utd 1-0 in the final!

I looked at it in my usual Shops and they did indeed have it unavailable atm - and i never buy from Steam as you have to pre purchase Store Credits at a fixed amount that never fits the actual Price of a game and usually they are more expensive anyway.
That’s not true, you can pay on steam as you would on any website

You currently have the ability to create a perfect assistant using the editor. It would therefore be unlikely to be an option within the game without using the editor
Firstly, if you're a new player to the game, how likely are you to utilise the editor in this way? Or even realise you could utilise the editor in this way?
Second, and more importantly, any personnel added / amended via the editor could and most likely would be poached by another club pretty quickly unless you used an in game editor to keep them with you. Plus you couldn't easily take them with you if you change jobs.

Hey all - I had this idea years ago but can't remember if I ever posted it!
My idea is a training aid for new and existing players - a super assistant who has perfect stats. This person would be addable at the beginning of the game when creating a new player and would be loyal to the player, automatically moving with the manager to new clubs and never leaving for a new role. However the player would be able to "retire" him / her if they felt they no longer needed them.
The purpose would be able to help players out, primarily with tactics. 1-0 up against a bigger team with 20mins left but unsure how to act to best contain your opponent? Ask your ass man who's the best ai manager in the game. What to design a new tactic and want some feedback? Ask your perfect ass man.
Obviously they wouldn't be infallible and get it right every time, but for me there is a very steep learning curve for football manager these days, and this aid could really help teach players how to design competent tactics and get good at the game, more effectively than the guides provided as it provides in game advice.
Thoughts / feedback welcome!

Bookings in the 1st minute of a game
in Reviewed
Posted
I've noticed this for years and, whilst it isn't a massive issue, it is quite immersion breaking how often a team will get a player booked in the first minute of a game. In real life this is incredibly rare.
Please could this be refined? Hopefully to something that reflects there are fewer yellows in the early stages of games, but they come into effect more towards the end of the 1st half and more again towards the latter stages of each game
