  1. Whilst I had enjoyed my short time in Kalamaria, the lack of support for progressing in my coaching badges left me in a difficult situation. Hopefully my next club will be more supportive of helping me achieve my next licence.
  2. A fantastic finish to the season means we've secured a place in the Super League 2, staving off relegation . Beating champions Panserraikos and regular Super League outfit Veroia were definitely the highlights! A new contract signed for next season, let's see where we can take Apollon in that year. It's a tough league to get out of, especially on a tight budget like ours. The majority of the team are out of contract next month. I feel that quite a few will get released and a rebuild will be in order.
  3. Nice, I had an enjoyable save with Azorean side Santa Clara a few FMs back!
  4. February - March 2023 Update A good start with two wins and two draws, but the latest two losses have put us right back in trouble. 4 games left to steer away from the relegation spots....
  5. No real plan yet, just wherever the game takes me
  6. A solid start, though not spectacular PAOK B are easily one of the strongest sides in the league given their first team drop downs. We've got a lot of work to do if we wish to start drawing the fans back in, under 300 for a professional game is awful!
  7. Thanks - who knows I may end up at Milan in 20 years
  8. A couple of offers were on the cards from English clubs, however the decision was made to try out in Greece. The contract is £180-a-week for just 5 months. The club have taken a punt on a young, inexperienced manager. A club in the shadow of local rivals Aris, Apollon Pontou have been a yo-yo club between the leagues but have spent several seasons in the top flight before. The facilities aren't great at all. Missi Mezu --- Tsimakas --- Oikonomou --- Vasileiou At first glace the squads looks pretty capable. The defence is aging and pretty slow so they may struggle with my high pressing, high line style but we will be going for it. Yes, that is Kostas Tsimakas' brother and he's not bad either! We're 5 points away from safety with 10 games left to play. Let's hope we can get off to a positive start.
  9. [FM22] Realistic European Journeyman Save I may still be on FM22, but I've decided to share this save. My aim is to build a career as realistic as possible, hopefully culminating in success. In real life I work as a full-time youth football coach in Asia and prior to moving out here I managed at semi-professional level in England (9th-11th Tier) and I have the equivalent to a Continental C Licence so I've got a reasonable starting point. As you can see my strengths lie in working with young players, as well as the more tactical and mental side of the game. I'm not great when it comes to the technical side, and my real weaknesses are fitness, goalkeeping and discipline! In Men's football I've always worked with a joint-manager or assistant who is responsible for the disciplinary side of things while I focus more on the tactical side in training sessions and matches. I've loaded up every playable league in Europe (out the box ones) with a large database and I'm currently holidaying to 15th January 2023, today's date. Let's see where I end up first!
  10. Mine was Premier Manager 99 on PS1. Followed by FA Premier League Manager 00-01 and 01-02 (I think). My first SI was the last champman, 03-04.
  11. Sell as soon as possible. For buying players if I think there's a chance of missing out I will make an offer and when accepted delay by two weeks.
  12. My approach to first season in top division is to not change too much. Whatever you're doing has worked to get you there so you may as well see how it fares. I imagine the system will give you enough to compete and stay up and then you can build from there without a season of signing players that aren't really at the level. I'd upgrade a couple of the loanees then look for one or two key signings, allowing some budget for January if required.
  13. Poland had a shocker in the Euros and sacked their manager. Unfortunately, Steve McClaren was given the nod ahead of Bozek!
  14. It more than doubled the national record for a fee received. Very nice!
  15. The interest and bids for Starzynski were relentless and it finally got to the point where the board couldn't say no. A big move for him!
  16. Yeah Glik is exactly what we were missing. Polish only, with the aim of developing the Nation domestically and internationally.
  17. We've made our first big name signing, bringing in experienced centre back Kamil Glik. He may be 36, but he's still a national team regular and he will be a great influence on our young players.
  18. Poland news - two of our players make the EURO 2024 squad, though they may struggle to get appearances.
  19. Ekstraklasa Table We ended up 4 points short of the record held by Widzew Lodz in 94/95 where they finished on a 27-7-0 record. That will take some beating! Player Stats We will continue to add talented young players, as well as looking to take the opportunity to bring in Polish Stars with great personalities as some of our top prospects are in need of tutoring. 3 strikers got over 20 goals this season, as well as our key man: 16 goals, 14 assists in 26 Ekstraklasa games with a 7.75 average rating. "Star"zynski is living up to his name, but his performances are attracting clubs from across Europe. 24 in fact so far! Facilities Great developments to our facilities have occurred over the last couple of years and as long as we have the money to do so we will keep on improving. Our stadium will soon be at it's maximum capacity. Finances A healthy bank balance despite the infrastructure expenditure. Of course this can all change depending on our performances in European football.
  20. A very impressive showing from our youth squad, mixed in with some young first team players. The future is bright! (Downside, Rutkowski picked up a double hernia vs Sporting in the Semi )
  21. 20th April 2024: Title Secured A 3rd consecutive title is secured with 5 games spare. After losing to Slask away we lost the chance of going a season unbeaten, but we did have a season highlight 9-0 victory! Youth Intake Just one player of note came through our intake this season. Wojtaszek will be re-trained as a MR and will need to improve his speed if he's ever to make it here.
  22. Yeah that would be pretty cool! He moved up to 45th in the wonderkids list, let's see if he lives up to the hype.
  23. Salewski leaves us for mid-table Championship football! He refused to sign a new deal so left for a meagre £1.5m release clause.
  24. Yeah, I think you're always stuck with very tricky groups as a 4th seed
