  1. I did a Spennymoor Save and managed to get them in the Premier League eventually. Check out Shaun Tuton as AMR. Was lethal for me. Did a job in North, then national league before I had to replace.
  2. Hi, Currently in FM17 we can make available until fit or ongoing. My suggestion is a straightforward one. Add "for next match only" as an option alongside "until fit" and "ongoing". This avoids the many clicks to then select all players and "undo" their availability as often squad players around the first time I only want them to play 1 match for the U23s or U18s then wait for first team duties. Thanks, Malcolm
  3. Is it impossible to win Bluejoe561 without going to all that trouble and changes for every match?
  4. Hi, I'm finding playing FM17 to be almost unplayable at the moment. No matter what tactics I use, I seem to shoot more than opposition but their goalkeeper are all World Player of the Year contenders and I end up just conceding. All tactics seem to fail. Is it really necessary to play EXACTLY the best tactics for each player no matter what the change? I simply cannot win anything without my team being massively better than the other side. I really feel the GKs are way off in this version. So with my semi-rant over, I'm hoping to get better. What guides are there I can read that actually offers proper advice on how to win this damn game and actually get better over time? I don't want to win every game but I do want to feel like there is a point to decision rather than just "I lose" regardless with the odd scraped victory. Thanks in advance.
  5. Using the in-game editor, is it possible to put a lower league team into a league replacing an existing team or would I need to use the Create-a-club option? I'm using a lower league database and would like to activate Durham City FC into Northern League 1st Division for example.
  6. Love this idea. Hoped it would be included this year.
  7. Hi, 1. I know it is early days, but when does people think the Level 11 update will be available? My favourite way of playing the game is to get right to the grassroots. 2. In terms of the player database down there (thinking UK here), I asked if any new Northern League players (for example but this goes for every league) would be added and was told no. My only gripe with this is the same LL players have been around for ages and if no new ones are added there will only be older "lower" players in the game which I think messes the game up without adding the other, more new "known" lower league players. It will spoil the experience. I offered to help research the NL but was told "no new players would be added" so there was no point in helping out. Thanks.
  8. Hi guys, I'm Mal and I'm the owner of the True Footy Manager YouTube channel. I call it "True" Footy Manager because I actually manage in real life at Sunday League and have plans to manage at a higher level. My saves in FM15 are currently Newcastle Utd, which I have surprised myself and done quite well in and, using the Level 9 editor, I took on Crook Town FC in the Northern League 1st Division I have had 3 successive promotions to the Conference North having starting with zero players when I took the reigns. I hope you can check out my stuff and support me, ask questions and ask for content. I am hoping to build from my current 196 subscribers to a decent sized channel ready to kick on with some content when FM16 comes out. The link is: http://www.youtube.com/truefootymanager/ Thanks for passing by.
  9. Hi guys, @TrueFooty1 http://www.twitter.com/truefooty1 My YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/truefootymanager/ I do Football Manager YouTube videos and have plans to do a save especially for Twitch and also requested content.
  10. Kristoffer Ajer Dorin Rotariu Bilal Ould-Chikh Jesus Vallejo All beasts in my NUFC save. Bilal in particular is one of the best in the world and worth £40+ million. Interested in Sisto having read the thread!
  11. I manage in real life (only Sunday League so far but hoping to move upwards in time) and via my homepage (which I won't link to but it's there) I do tactics guides that I'm beginning to put together and do some work in incorporating that into the game. Will try and get more technical in future videos.
  12. I tend to do OK but I've noticed that other players who do videos for example seem to be able/happy to put in the time to set up dedicated scouting set-ups and spend ages training up young players with move training, tutoring, player specific stuff designed to maximise them in certain positions where I like the idea of just picking a tactic and signing "good" players. I tend to get carried away with finding a player with lots of double figures ratings than actually searching for the key attributes I need for my tactics. I think you get out of FM15 what you put into it and more so as the game increases in depth.
  13. May I ask if anyone is doing a Level 10/11 database edit. Will that be available once the full game is released? (Sorry, dead keen to get it!) Thank you.

  15. Chairman Frank Bell sat around the boardroom table with Manager Malcolm Clarke and Chief Scout Carl Frost. The mood was an odd mix of elation and disappointment and it was difficult to know whether it was appropriate to share either one emotion or the other. After a successful first season in charge which saw The Steelmen promoted from the Northern League as champions after amassing a solid young squad of ambitious and hungry talent, they had launched an immediate assault on the Northern Regional First Division, missing out on automatic promotion because the winning team, Lancaster, won one more game than Consett despite having equal points. "We missed out on goal difference." said Frank. "I'm putting in an extra £500 per week on the wage budget this season, but the priority has to be the F.A. Cup to raise revenue for the club. That and promotion, I don't ask for much do I? Go and make it happen." Using the amazing qualities of Carl Frost, who has scouting credentials to rival any Premier league scout, Clarke secured the future of 17 year old left back Tommy Searle and plucked out of the reserves a versatile young midfielder called Ryan Reynolds, who had turned up for a trial and showed great technical ability and determination, despite having little fitness or pace. Forward Scott Ramsay, a 16 year old who Frost felt not only arrived as the best forward in the squad but had the potential for huge improvement, joined from the local leagues. Goalkeeper Neil Postlethwaite, formerly of Wigan Athletic in 2008, returned after difficult contract negotiations to occupy the goalkeepers jersey for a second season after a brilliant first season. Throughout September and October Consett were awarded with five home ties in the F.A. Cup and progressed through all five rounds of the qualifying phase dispatching Wantage, Great Yarmouth, Southall, Hastings Utd and Cammel Laird to set up a mouthwatering tie against Conference Premier side Boston Utd. The Steelman rose to the occasion, beating Boston easily by three goals to nil with strikes from midfielders Tom Murray, Tom Allinson and Leon Chapman. Next up was League 2 side Northampton. The press mocked Consett's chances in the pre-match press conference. Clarke was resolute, assertively stating, "Their league position of 23rd shows they have many vulnerabilities in defence that my exciting young squad will try and exploit. We will attack them straight from kick off and test their belief. An early goal could change everything." And that is exactly what happened. The fans could scarcely believe their eyes as Consett attacked right from kickoff, dominating the game and opening the scoring when winger Darren Reece slammed home after a cute pass from Tom Murray on 32 minutes. A solid defensive display followed before young striker Scott Ellis scored on the break to wrap up victory on 82 minutes. The reward? A home tie against Premier League Charlton Athletic which was sure to bring in lots of revenue and perhaps the greatest F.A. Cup upset in history. Consett's stadium was full for the tie, smashing the previous record of 726 with a huge 2,600 crowd in attendance. Charlton fielded a reserve side and Consett gamely attacked them. Unfortunately whilst all good fairytales have a happy ending, this is Football and the Premier League is nine divisions above Consett and it showed. Consett lost 4-0, but had periods of attack that suggested a promotion or two with the current squad was not an unrealistic dream. Chairman Frank Bell met with Clarke after the match and took stock of the season so far. "I am delighted to say that F.A. Cup run earned the club £150,000. Thank you for securing our immediate financial future. Now it's all about the league and we've got some work to do." The cup run served as an additional pressure on the league form of Consett and despite the lucrative financial returns had been a bit of a distraction. A run of 9 games without a run between October and November had turned a promising start into a frustrating slide into mid-table. This was not lost on the Chairman. "The cup run is over, it's been a fantastic experience but we need promotion. A big run until the end of the season and I believe we can do it. We have the resources for next season but we need to get there first. I'd rather use those resources in the higher league. I know you can do it." Clarke moved towards the boardroom door. As he did so, Frank called his name. "Malcolm." Bell said with an expectant expression on his face. "No pressure." Clarke closed the door behind him as he left. "No pressure." he said to himself. "I'm sure there isn't."
  16. Consett AFC are a Level 9 club in the Northern League. I am actually on their Management Committee in real life and sell the programmes and raffle tickets before the match kicks off and I enjoy the hour before the game watching the players warm up. There is something special about grassroots Football, so it was natural that in #FM14 I would manage this team, trying to build them into a superpower, or at the very least get them into the Football League. I have a series of videos on YouTube chartering this story, which I hope you find interesting.
  17. A great season in the end as per my post above. It's my first ever league title on FM for ages! Here is the league table. Sorry the image is a little blurred. I have sold Tim Krul for £15m to Barcelona and signed Kevin Trapp as new goalkeeper. Trapp is not far off Krul, only a few points to gain in a few areas and he will be spot on. My other signings are De Jong and Remy on permanent deals, Jack Cork as cover for DM and I brought in Samir Nasri and Andre Schurrle on loan as well as cover players from my Scandinavian scout Erik Madsen and Kasper Cusk. Hatem Ben Arfa signed a new deal and I was pleased to hold onto Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon and Debuchy too. I mutually terminated Gael Bigirimana, Roman Amalfitano, Sammy and Shola Ameobi, Sylvain Marveaux, Rob Elliott and I sold Obertan and Jonas for a combined £2.5 million. I beat Everton on penalties for the Charity Shield and hopefully will have a good second season where I am also in the Champions League.
  18. I started a new save with FM14 NUFC. I managed to sell Williamson for £1.5m and bought Kyle Bartley as a replacement and sold Tiote for £9m and brought in Tom Ince for £3.9m. As he arrives next summer (which I admit was a bit of a fail on my part) I spent £1.1 on Leon Osman from Everton as an interim, who has turned out to be a real fan favourite and a solid CM. I also signed DR Cavanda, a Belgian international aged 23. I also signed Simone Padoin on the wing and Mason Bennett (16) for up front with Campbell coming through too. I am currently trying to sell Marveaux, Obertan, Ameobi, Newton and Jonas to continue rebuilding. I have done the first half of the season and am at Jan 1st 2014. I have started incredibly well. I managed to beat Spurs, Man City and Liverpool in the league and after 19 games I'm top by 9 points with a game in hand. My tactics are a wide 4-2-3-1 with Krul, Santon, Debuchy, Yanga-Mbiwa, Coloccini (S Taylor), Anita, Gosling (Osman) LW: Remy, Ben Arfa (RW) Sissoko AMC (15 goals in 15 games, he is a beast) and Cisse or De Jong up front on his own. I spent ages going through best suited roles and shouts for each player for each position they play and look at my opposition in terms of speed in the middle before deciding the exact formation. If I use Gosling in the middle he plays a standard CM or I use two DMs. I use a fluid style marked control asking the lads to keep possession. I have just signed Michael Keane (DRC) as he was starting for Man Utd. The only nightmare is 4 months out with a broken foot for Davide Santon which has made me play Haidara. Good chance to develop him. I’ll post a league table screenie on my next update. I'm doing a YouTube video series for this career so PM me and I'll send you the link to it. Thanks, Malcolm `

Great tactics, I spent ages going through best suited roles and shouts for each player for each position they play. I use a fluid control tactic exploiting the flanks and retaining possession. Counter if I'm struggling with a more direct route on the break if that does not appear to be working. I'm doing a YouTube video series for this career so PM me and I'll send you the link to it. Mal
  20. My steam has not downloaded the update and nothing I do seems to suggest it is downloading it. What should I do?
