If a striker has high finishing but low composure I shoot with power.
If the player has low finishing and high composure then I place shots or round the keeper if their dribbling is good.
but what about players with all-round stats? Players in central/wide positions?

I've been wondering for while; Which PPM is preferable to allround striker?
a lot of goals in FM18 seems to come from either a cross leading to tap in, or strikers coming into box from an angle, instead of more central striking positions. There seems to be, at least for me, a lot of strikers cutting inside or driving ball towards penalty area in an angle before shooting.
Wouldn't shoot with power be better here than placing shot when running in on an angle then? Most shots seem to miss in FM 18 anyway and most of chances seem to come from awkward angles that don't give that much space for striker to operate in.

Placing shot vs shooting with power

I love a good powerful shot, but the question is if it is statistically worse for player with high technical stats to pick power over placing shot
if you go to tactics screen and filter by goal scored, most goals are placed. But shots from central areas seem to be better with power shot.
